Im basically looking for the most fitting order to field Inquisitor Greyfax with, though im curious in general. Btw my idea was the Valorous Heart cause all of the repent stuff.
Disclaimer: I'm not arguing for or against any religion or lack there of. I'm just making some connections between Destiny lore and certain Christian symbolism as Bungie often does.
So, I just finished watching The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy episode of Rick & Morty. There's sequence where Jerry, Rick, & Risotto Groupon travel through a wormhole without temporal protection. A crazy existential acid trip ensues with your typical mindbending visuals and the like: psychedelic transmutation, crow symbols, Baphomet figures, the duality of light and darkness, etc. Some of the connections with Destiny were obvious: the light/dark imagery; crow imagery (See Uldren); etc. However, one of the primary images is the Eye of Providence. That's the infamous Illuminati symbol that has an eye surrounded by light enclosed within a pyramid. What I found particularly interesting was that, within this dream sequence, images of eyes and pyramids were shown repeatedly separated from each other as well. Eyes and Pyramids...Circles and Triangles...Orbs and Tetrahedrons.
This got me more curious, so I actually looked up what the Eye of Providence actually represents. It originated as a Christian symbol which represented the divine providence of God. It's basically his intervention in the universe. However, this is specifically referring to upholding the laws and natural order of existence. This sounds very similar to how the Winnower describes it's original relationship to the Gardener in The Unveiling within the rigid rule book for the Game of Kings. In nearly every form of the Eye of Providence, the eye and it's light are enclosed in the triangle. You could relate this to how the Winnower described the results of the first games. No matter what, the game always ended in a final shape with the Winnower "victorious" over the Gardener. The Winnower's final shape would be the natural order of existence, which is that they only beings that should exist are those that are strong enough to exist. The Gardener was trapped and stifled by it, until the Gardener changed the rules.
There is another form of providence that is called special providence. This refers to God's extraordinary intervention into the lives of people through miracles. This intervention is extraordinary because it breaks the rules established by the natural order of existence. Special providence could be compared to the Gardener's desire to rewrite the rule book to the game;
