A list of puns related to "Showground"
Just sharing some positive (pun intended) testing story. Went in expecting a 5 hours wait and a week to know the result and was pleasantly surprised.
I don't get out that way much so couldn't easily check personally. I'm not even sure that the brooker entrance is even open 24/7. Surely they wouldn't have their own lane.
Me and my partner are looking to get covid-19 tests and are thinking about either showing up to the Hobart Showgrounds or booking.
Is the Hobart showgrounds testing have a long wait or is it better just to book for a test from another clinic?

βWinter Wonderland at the Kent Showground has been cancelled, with rising Covid-19 cases across Europe given as a contributing factor.
The Detling event space was was to host the festive extravaganza on the weekend of December 11 and 12, with Christmas music, a fun fair, stands, food and a musical fireworks display.
However organiser Phoenix Fireworks has announced the event will not go ahead, explaining in a statement: "With Covid restrictions being eased, we have been extremely optimistic about the upcoming event, but against a backdrop where Covid cases are taking a sharp rise across Europe, with many European countries seeing restrictions re-instated, and of course the London Mayors' decision to cancel the New Years' Eve fireworks display, we have, regrettably made the decision to cancel this year's Winter Wonderland event.
"Our team are deeply saddened by this, as we appreciate you will be too. We have worked hard during what has been the most problematic time for all involved in the events industry and had been looking forward to conclude 2021 with a festive, happy event."
Last year, dozens of families were turned away from the Phoenix Fireworks event, after being stuck in four-hour long queues to get in.
Some families were unable to get into the wonderland before it closed and organisers issued an apology and vowed to make significant changes for future events.
When Kent was plunged into more severe restrictions, the three remaining dates were scrapped.
People due to attend those shows were sent tickets to this year's event but those who chose not to attend after reports of the traffic chaos were told they wouldn't get their money back.
This year, Phoenix Fireworks is offering ticket-holders a place at their Summer Family Festival event instead.
Alternatively, people can receive a refund, if they request one within 14 days of receiving the email about the cancellation.
If no refund is requested, they will have their ticket transferred to the upcoming summer eventβ.

Gate 8 Claremont showgrounds.
Get Vaccinated. The best vaccine is the vaccine you can get today!
I heard that's on again this weekend, and I remember hearing fireworks last weekend but don't remember the time. I've been on every single website and facebook page for the event but none say the actual time of the fireworks.
So I'm currently on the train heading back to East Perth after my second Pfizer vaccine dose and I still can't believe how quick it all was. From the moment I entered Gate 8 to the moment I left the site, I would have been in and out in only 20 minutes. There was no line, check in took 2 minutes, actual vaccine took 5 minutes. People sitting next to me were the same too, couldn't believe how fast it was compared to last time. I spoke with a guy looked early to mid 20s and told him last time I was here a month ago, it took me 2 hours to get to the point I was at sitting on this chair. This time, it only took 2 minutes. Spent longer waiting my required 15 minutes afterwards.
Hi folks, need as many people as we can get to help volunteer for the annual Cancer Research event. Link: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/get-involved/volunteer/event-day-volunteer-race-for-life-norwich
Can anyone enlighten me about parking at claremont for the jab while the show is on? I didn't realize it was on when I booked it, probably going to cancel the appointment if there no dedicated parking... Don't need that drama in my life.
Hi, where do people park for the COVID Vaccine at the show grounds? My wife has her 2nd shot booked in for tomorrow.
It is freezing this morning.
Covid vaccination clinic at Wayville just got evacuated. Anyone know why?
Some movie or show is camped out at the show grounds parking and I'm wondering if anyone has the low down?
I was wondering if anyone had been to Claremont showgrounds for their vax and could let me know what the wait is generally like? I'm booked in for next Thursday and will have my baby with me, but I'm not sure if I should try to get a babysitter instead of bringing her with me. Thanks
Edit: Thanks everyone! I'll take her with me and hope for the best. On another note, so great to see so many people out there getting jabbed!
This morning I booked my first vaccine shot online. Expect to be getting it in about an hour at the Claremont Showgrounds.
Anyone who has done this got any tips to share?
Edit: This post was about logistics of the experience. I've just been jabbed, so here's what I've learnt.
Google Maps puts you at gate 9, drive away from the railway to get to gate 8.
Parking is inside the gate, not sure where overflow parking is, the place was not busy.
After checking in at the door, you wait to get called.
You are asked to confirm your identity and DOB with Medicare and/or DL.
Another wait and you are called into a cubicle where you're asked to confirm your medical responses.
The jab is quick and painless.
Then wait for 15 minutes for any adverse reactions.
You can book the second jab here while waiting.
I've just gone through this, the place was pretty empty, there's 11 people waiting with me for the required 15 minutes, there's chairs for 64 people and 40 cubicles, with about six or so actually used.
