A list of puns related to "Show Ya"
Halfway through the show, the music stops and Bono stands middle stage clapping his hands every few seconds. "Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies" Without missing a beat, from somewhere in the front of the crowd a man bellows out in a thick Irish accent: "Well stop fucking doing it ya evil bastard!"
Recently my cousin got into Star Wars Fanfictions. Like absolutely enamored by them. Not being much of a fanfic guy but still wanting to be supportive I inquired into her new obsession. After a bit of asking she told me she hated the new villain arcs for the new trilogy but thought they were good characters that deserved a better story to be explored through. After this, I fully understood and was happy she was exploring these antagonists through a different lens.
Just goes to show ya, different snokes for different folks.
I was visiting my folks, and decided to take em out to dinner when Ma got home. We go for a feed, all is well. I'm standing up at the end of the table, leaning on its edge with me phone out as Ma was organising herself. Da came back from the loo, and asked me what I was doing on me phone.
"Checking me balance." I replied, showing him my bank app. I had just been paid and was moving money around to savings and such, after paying for dinner by phone NFC.
Without warning he gives me a good hip n shoulder, not hard enough to send me flying but enough to shift me a bit.
"Ya balance looks shit, boy."
He smirks at me as Ma groans audibly. Cheeky old bugger.
This is why he's going in a crooked retirement home you always see on the News.

One of the classic Β Abbott and Costello Β routines, where Bud Abbott takes advantage of a common math mistake that we all make to fleece his pal, Lou Costello, out of all of his money. Β The skit ends with a simple βread my mindβ routine that takes Louβs last remaining bill. Β This routine was done Β many Β times, both in the movies and their radio show.
Bud Abbott: Do me a favor, loan me $50.
Lou Costello: Bud, I canβt. I canβt loan you $50.
Bud Abbott: Oh, yes, ya can.
Lou Costello: No, I canβt. All I got is $40.
Bud Abbott: All right, give me the $40 and youβll owe me 10 Β
Lou Costello: Ok, Iβll owe you 10.
Bud Abbott: Thatβs right.
Lou Costello: How come I owe you 10?
Bud Abbott: How much did I ask for?
Lou Costello: 50
Bud Abbott: How much did you give me?
Lou Costello: 40.
Bud Abbott: So you owe me $10.
Lou Costello: Thatβs right. Β [Pause] But you owe me 40.
Bud Abbott: Donβt change the subject.
Lou Costello: Iβm not changing the subject; youβre trying to change my finances. Come on, Abbott give me my $40.
Bud Abbott: All right, thereβs your $40, now give me the 10 you owe me.
Lou Costello: Iβm paying you on account.
Bud Abbott: On account?
Lou Costello: On account I donβt know how I owe it to ya.
Bud Abbott: Thatβs the way you feel about it, thatβs the last time I ask you for a loan of $50.
Lou Costello: But how can I loan ya $50, now. All I got is 30.
Bud Abbott: Well, give me the 30 and youβll owe me 20.
Lou Costello: Ok. This is getting worse all the time. (Look at audience) First I owe him 10, now I owe him 20.
Bud Abbott: Well, why do you run yourself into debt?
Lou Costello: Iβm not running in, youβre pushing me!1
Bud Abbott: I canβt help it if you canβt handle your finances. I do all right with my money.
Lou Costello: And you do all right with my money too.
Bud Abbott: Now I asked you for a loan of $50. You gave me 30, so you owe me 20. 20 and 30 is 50.
Lou Costello: No. No. No. 25 and 25 is 50.
Bud Abbott: All right, hereβs your $30, now give me the 20 you owe me. Fine guy, wonβt loan a pal $50.
I was showing her Costco for the first time and I said "Ya Costco is intense!" She replied "No it's not, it's in a warehouse."
Narrator during a paranormal investigation show: he senses many spirits behind the bar
My dad: well ya, there's tons of spirits behind a bar!
So I was working on a beard for a show I was in on the time, and it was starting to come in well. We were sitting together and leans over and goes, "Ya know, the beard is really growing on me." I thought about it for a second and said, "No...it's growing on me."
Me: What did they have at the farm?
Son: Pumpkins and gourds.
Me: Did you get to pick one out to take home?
Son: I got a gourd because it looked cool. /shows us multi colored, striped gourd
Me: Gourd for you!
Son: /slightly confused... Yes, I got this gourd.
Me: So... would you say you had a ... gourd time?
Wife: /groans
Son: Ya, I had a gourd time.
Wife: /groans again.
Wife: Really?!
Me: He gets these jokes now. He's all... gourd up now.
Wife: STOP!
Son: Oh, gourd!
While shopping for a new sofa:
Me: "There's a ton of ottomans in this show room."
My dad:"Ya, it's a regular Ottoman Empire."
My 6th grade teacher had a reputation of being the meanest, strictest teacher on campus, but once I made it through his class, I realized he could be a jokester, too.
-In math class, he liked to tell a long, complicated story about a boy encountering a genie, eventually wishing for some odd things, just to end it with the punchline, "Gee, I'm a tree." (geometry)
-Another one of his long jokes consisted of a man being chased by a hearse. In a fit of desperation, he throws some Halls throat lozenges at it...."and the coffin went away."
-During study time, he would sometimes grab a balloon from his desk, blow it up, and proceed to slowly let air out of it, just to produce the squeaky noise.
-His favorite short joke: "Doctor, doctor, I broke my arm in three places!" "I advise you to stay out of those places."
-He was also probably the all-time leader of correcting, "Can I go to the bathroom?"
-He would also occasionally play opera music at the end of the day, not dismissing the class until we made it through an entire song without laughing.
-There were also a couple words that incited a specific reaction from him. Many of these words showed up often in history class, which is his favorite subject (probably because of all the jokes):
CARGO - "cargo beep beep".
RAY - Whenever the word or name "ray" was mentioned, he would always respond with "You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, but ya doesn't have to call me Johnson." Needless to say, we hated the math lesson about rays.
HUDSON - During mentions of the Hudson River in history, he would always sing back "HUDSON 3-2-700."
OKLAHOMA - Whenever Oklahoma came across, he would sing the famous line from Oklahoma! the musical. (with an especially long "ohhhhhhh!")
SURELY - "...and don't call me Shirley." (but of course, who doesn't respond with that?)
GERONIMOOOO!!!! - pretty self explanatory.
Sticking with these obscure quotes and references, his two favorite days of the year are November 5th and March 15th.
Anyway, it was a fun year with that teacher. I'll add more of his quirks if I think of any.
-Also,
... keep reading on reddit β‘After reading an article stating that Sergeant Drew Wu was a key role in the show.
Me: So I was reading how Wu plays a really key part in the show according to this article I read. What do you think?
Dad: Ya, he's the Wu that holds everything together.
Me: 'Nods head in appreciation and carries on watching.'
We were walking through a grocery store when I showed her a bin full of these large apples Me: "Wow, look at all these big apples!" Her: "They must have come from New York City!" She proceeded to laugh hysterically and elbow me a hundred times saying "hehe, ya get it?" "get it?"
