I found incredibly cheap flights to Barcelona this winter.
I’ve been dying to see this city, but most of my vacation days are spoken for next year, so I could only have 4-5 full days there. Plenty of time to explore, but the ~15 hour travel time is kinda brutal for such a short trip. In normal times I wouldn’t go for it, but I’m so excited to travel again after being grounded for two years that it would probably be worth the jet lag.
Would you take a long haul flight for a trip less than a week? I have a ton of trips planned next so I’m not looking for suggestions of places to go instead.
Which plane makes the most profits from short-haul flights, because I already have many long-haul routes.
Theres been a bit of a learning curve on the FBW A320 where I was doing extremely well until a few miles from the destination where I would either press a wrong button (LOC for example) on approach or get incorrect vectors from the garbage ATC and ended up with a really bad flight ending. This would be at the tail end of 2-3hr flights and it was extremely frustrating.
I started doing smaller flights such as KBWI-KEWR, KPIT-KBWI, and even KOAK-KSFO. Just to get in the air and almost immediately start approach. This helped significantly for practicing guided approaches and getting me more time in control for smooth touchdowns. Do you all have a selection of flights you use for "practice" anything long enough to be meaningful yet short enough to be less than ~30mins-1hr? Post up the ICAOs and Runways if you wish!
