I asked myself if there's a meaning behind the names in the show. This is what I figured out: Elliot: (Greek, Elijah in hebrew) Jehovah is god. Angela: Messenger of gods. Shayla: (Look for Alysha, an anagram) Protected by god.
I think it's quite interesting. Can you find more of them? I also asked myself what meaning the name Alderson has since it's not a common American name, more scandinavian.
The Baby Shower episode - At the baby shower in CT, Charlotte found out the mom (their childhood friend apparently?) took her baby name, “Shayla” that Charlotte “made everyone promise not to take”… whatever but Samantha sees Charlotte crying, comes over to her. “What happened?” “She took my baby name” Charlotte sobs.
No indication of whether Sam understood what was going on or not, didn’t matter, Sam without missing a beat barks at the expectant mom “you bitch!” at her own baby shower, puts her arm around Charlotte and storms off. 😂😂😂

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

I usually stay on the animal and pet side of reddit but now I find myself here! My name is Shayla and I am looking to escape a rather dire and terrifying situation that my boyfriend and I have been stuck in for ten years. It's finally reached a point where we feel we have no point but to ask for help.

This is some remnants of what remains from the cleanout as well as the two kitties I have had no luck rehoming because they are seniors.

This board was so helpful in my decision to start going by a new nickname. I am keeping my legal name, Kimberly, which I like enough but have never really used, except on legal documents. I changed my nickname to Kira (formerly Kim - always hated it).
It's a little interesting explaining to new people that I am a Kimberly who goes by Kira. I don't think it's all that hard to understand but people seem to be really confused. I mean, people understand Peggy for Margaret and Missy for Melissa. It got me wondering...in the past, people would send me checks written out to Kim and I could cash them with no problems. But Kim has never been my legal name. What happens if people write me checks to Kira, which isn't an intuitive nickname for Kimberly? Could I cash them? It's just weird that some common nicknames are just accepted without question, like Bill for William or Bob for Robert.
Do any of you have nicknames that don't seem to go with your legal name? Any issues?
Bonus question: What other outside-the-box nicknames do you like for names that usually have an associated nickname? Like for example, I love Thane for Nathaniel. And Shale for Shayla. And if I was Sharon, I would probably go by Sara.

STORY - Back at Last Laugh, following Cheerleader Melissa's successful title defense against Beth Phoenix, she was attacked by WWE Women's Champion Daffney, who proceeded to raise both the Women's and Divas titles above her head, signaling that she wanted to be a double champion. That only seemed to be even more obvious when, the following month at Survivor Series, Daffney pinned Cheerleader Melissa to lead Team SmackDown to victory in their Interbrand Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination match.
Following Survivor Series, Daffney issued another challenge to Melissa for a match at TLC: A mixed tag team match with both Daffney and Melissa picking a partner. Daffney chose Abyss as her partner while Cheerleader Melissa picked Kane. Daffney would pick up the victory for her team, pinning Melissa to do so. On the following episode of SmackDown, Daffney challenged Melissa to a match for the Divas Title at the Royal Rumble, due to Daffney pinning Melissa at TLC. The Divas Champion would later accept. Daffney would be given an ultimatum the following week, as SmackDown GM Paul Heyman would let her know that, should she win the Divas Title at the Royal Rumble, then she will be forced to vacate the Women's Championship. Will Cheerleader Melissa somehow keep hold of her championship? Or will Daffney win the Divas Title, and, in the process, be forced to give up her Women's title?
