I know other districts have done it in the past, and now that distance learning is part of their curriculum I thought they might, just haven't heard.
So wife and I are looking at a house in north Shawnee. The street the house lies on is right on the boundary between feeding into shawnee mission north and shawnee mission northwest. It does feed into north and hocker grove which is why the house has probably not sold yet. We don't even have kids yet but that is coming in the very near future, just looking at all available options for us.
Is there anyway to attend other schools within the district if the room is available? I have been digging around on the shawnee mission schools website and I know it is possible but unsure on the likelihood.
I found this- > Transfers considerations:
> ● Siblings of current District Transfer students receive first priority consideration.
> ● In-District students of employees will receive the second priority consideration.
> ● In-District Transfers are reviewed first in the order they are received.
> ● Remaining transfer requests are considered in the order they are received. >
So basically if I moved into the district when kids are first registering for school we would be third in line for transfer consideration? Just want to make sure I am reading this right. Also looking for anybody with experience doing this!
Also who knows, within 5-6 years there might be new schools built and this will all be different anyways. Thanks in advance!
