A list of puns related to "Service Employees International Union"
As per a recent request for a union organizer, I am a union organizer for SEIU. Ask me anything, I am an open book.
The Service Employees International Union represents 1.9 million workers, and has a revenue stream of $170 per member. More specifically 1.7% of income. If I did my math right the average SEIU employee is taking home $10,006.19 per year, minus the 170 and it's less than 10k, not very much, and not enough to live on. I know many of those people are high school/college students working part time.
I know that SEIU does some lobbying, pays staff, rents office space, but what else does it do with the money? $323 million seems like a large chunk of change, almost a 1 billion every three years. Are the union members better off for having the $170 taken out of their pockets every year? Are they getting their moneys worth?
