βHuh?β I was sure I hadnβt heard her over the jazz piano and muffled bar conversations around us.
βNo, you heard right.β She leaned in close.β Come on, what do you see in the news every day? The worst side of people. Crime, corruption, selfishness. But when someone goes missing? You should see it. The whole community comes together."
"What're you talking about?"
"I got certified in SAR years ago, and now I go wherever there's a need. Look, Iβve struggled with depression my whole life. Most of the time it feels like the planet is doomed, life isnβt worth living, and things are only getting worse. But when youβre out there looking for somebodyβsharing hugs and hot coffee and candlelight vigilsβit feels like thereβs actually hope. I mean, you might actually be the one to rescue a person who would otherwise disappear without a trace, or solve an unexplained mystery! Isnβt that better than a hangover, a sunburn and an overpriced motel?β
How well I remember that fateful conversation. All I'd wanted was to plan a trip with my new girlfriend Roxanne. Weβd only been dating for a few weeks, and we were still sort of feeling each other out, trying to see if this thing would be a good fit. Thatβs why I was so surprised that she mentioned her little secretβone of many as it turned out, but that was later. Back in the cocktail bar, I was still puppy-love infatuated with the geeky, unpredictable redhead across the table from me, and if sheβd said her hobby was bear-wrestling or digging up corpses, I probably would have gone along just as eagerly.
Just like a hiker wandering off the trail or a child swimming too deep, I was entering an uncharted world where what I knew no longer applied.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Manoeuvring with Difficulty
Gβday again, Iβm back again with another guide, this one is roughly twice as long as my last walkthrough, if you didnβt see the first one on the Hatikvah plot, it may be worth looking into before reading this one if you havenβt done the Hatikvah plot before. This guide is also available as a wiki page. It may be preferable to read it on the Wiki because the guide has a table of contents in that format and it has more images because of reddit's 20 image limit.
The Free Families Conflict plot (also known as the "Split plot") in conjunction with the Hatikvah Trade Revolution plot and Paranid Civil War plot is one of the 3 main story missions introduced in the 3.0 βLever to Move a Worldβ update and the first to require a DLC (Split Vendetta). Along with the Paranid Civil War plot this mission chain has an opening linear plot chain before a player-made decision picks a path towards two different outcomes. In this guide the full range of outcomes will be outlined at the conclusion of each of the two branches. As this is a walkthrough spoilers are inevitable and expected, however, scope of spoliers is limited to the understanding required for this plot and its completion.
With regards to difficulty, the first half of the plot is similar to that of the Hatikvah Trade revolution and Player Headquarters plots. The second half is far more involved and is more suited to intermediate players who have significant sums of money available (over a billion is a good target).
Thematically the plot centres on the control of the Free Families with forces of the Zyarth Patriarchy and the Court of Curbs both vying for control of the fractured feudal families.
Two of the achievements in this plot require specific actions on multiple occasions, guidance and prompts from NPCs will not help in getting them so they have been made more obvious in this guide. These achievements are the βYes, Yes, Very Interestingβ which requires 4 correct dialogue choices and βIn Authority We Trustβ which requires certain conversations and flight behaviours as well as choosing to side with Zyarth.
Without giving away the content of the plot too early, m

The deeper I went the more threads I encountered, so while I donβt think Iβm done researching this topic, if I kept going it might have become too much to manage. Iβm not really sure where to begin with this one since its focus is so broad, therefore Iβll just start where I myself did: the mystery of the Pyrite Peninsula.
For those who donβt know, the Pyrite Peninsula is an area within Malchorβs Leap that is home to a glorious, yet peculiar radiant orb. It just so happens to be a hero point commune challenge, and if you interact with it, youβll learn more: it reads βThe Wealdwood on the Pyrite Peninsula holds an ancient Orrian mystery: an orb wielding great and unknown forces. It has gilded the forest around it and lends a burst of power to any who commune with it.β
The Pact agents at their nearby camp worry about the possibility of Zhaitan absorbing the orb's magic, but the Inquest in the area note that the corruption can't touch it and posit that it must have great power.
Unsurprisingly, they are trying to steal its magic. They set up a golem below the orb to try and harness the energy for its core, and if successful (dynamic events) the golem powers up. Unfortunately for the Inquest, it seems to have a mind of its own. The golem ignores its masters and instead decides to run amok, rampaging the area. Curiously, it has dialogue explaining its motivations. It simply says "Must - protect - Orr".
Creepy.
Unfortunately for us, there's not much else going on here. The orb has also gilded some elementals that patrol the shores, but besides that, nothing. No breadcrumbs to follow; no leads to chase. The only real clue is the orb itself.
A giant glowing ball encapsulated in an open form gold casing, the model is rare, but not unique. Usually I would walk you through the steps of finding the other orbs, but as I mentioned, this post will encompass a LOT of stuff, so I'm just going to list them out and briefly explain them.
The first I found was the teleportation stone in the ruins of a dwarven settlement below the Griffonrook Run. I was quite shocked to find it here, but it started to make more sense as a researched further. For now, just know that it is one of the smaller orbs of its kind and it is used to teleport players from the base of the ravine to a small dwelling near the top. The area is guarded by griffons (like a lot of g

Hello, this is another ecuadorean case that I would like to share. It also takes place in Quito, the country's capital. This unidentified body is tied to the case of a girl name Juliana Campoverde so I'll give you a summary of that case:
Juliana Campoverde
Juliana was a eighteen year old girl who went missing on July 7, 2012. On that day she and her mother were walking together and came across Jonathan Carrillo, the pastor of an evangelist church they had attended until a month ago. Juliana was supposed to go to work and then hang out with her boyfriend, but she never met him like she had planned to. On the following weeks, there was this strange pattern where a member of Jonathan's family would contact Juliana's mother Elizabeth and tell her God had send them visions and that she would soon hear from her daughter, shortly after Elizabeth would get a message from Juliana's number. In 2018 Jonathan Carrillo was arrested in connection to the disappearance, it was discovered he had created a secret Facebook account to stalk Juliana and all the text messages the family received after July 7 were sent from his phone. Jonathan eventually confessed to have killed Juliana and said he had thrown her body in the Bellavista ravine, located in northern Quito.
The bones found
The same year a search was carried out on that ravine and, as you can guess from the title, human remains were indeed found. Sadly they weren't much, a news article says the search team was only able to find a human jaw and some ribs but nothing more. Four DNA tests were made with Juliana's parents samples, two came back unconclusive and the other two were negative, which begs the question: if that is not Juliana, then who is it? There is very little information about this set of remains unfortunately, just that they are very few and not Juliana's and that's it. It is not even clear if it is a Jane Doe or a John Doe or how did those bones end up there. I couldn't find out if Jonathan was questioned further about the remains, apparently he chose to remain silent after confessing but was convicted of kidnapping which resulted in death and got 25 years. In April of this year more searches were carried out in the ravine but came up empty, no more bones were found and to this day police hasn't been able to locate Juliana's body or identify the skeletal remains found in the initial search.
Thanks for reading.

Howdy! Welcome to Day 5 of the r/indieheads Album of the Year 2021 Write-Up Series, our annual event where we showcase pieces from some of our favorite writers on the subreddit talking about their favorite records of the year! Up today, u/modulum83 is talking The Killers' new one, Pressure Machine.
Listen:
Background by /u/modulum83:
I mean, do I need to do this introduction? Headed by quintessentially Vegas frontman Brandon Flowers and named after a band in a New Order music video, the Killers are one of the most popular rock bands of all time, easily one of the most prominent bands to rise from the post-punk revival scene of the 2000s. Their 2004 debut Hot Fuss spawned mammoth singles βSomebody Told Me,β βAll These Things Iβve Done,β and of course βMr. Brightside,β which is at this point basically the national anthem of the United Kingdom.
Hereβs where you should start paying attention, though - in reaction to the massive popularity of Hot Fuss, they released the 2006 follow-up, Samβs Town, which started their long-running fascination with the American mythos; the album is still to this day considered the cult favorite among fans of the band. The Killersβ next few records - Day & Age, Battle Born, and Wonderful Wonderful - all spun off hits of their own and have their devoted defenders, but are generally seen as dropoffs from the cultural presence of those first two albums. They never truly returned to the Hot Fuss sound though, instead solidifying their presence as a megalithic arena rock band with soaring choruses and more than a few nods to Americana along the way.
The Killers returned in 2020 with Imploding the Mirage, which seemingly marked the beginning of a new era for the band. Featuring collaborations with k.d. lang and Lucius, and with production from Shawn Everett, previous producer for The War On Drugs, Imploding the Mirage saw the Killers merge their trademark sound with a style that felt more indebted to pure heartland rock and indie rock. The album garnered far more critical acclaim than their last few records, and the band saw fit to quick

I got the job when I was pretty young like in my early 20s and I think ISTP was somewhere in his 50s or 60s, not quite sure. There were some things about him that stood out. This is an appreciation post based on personal experiences with an ISTP.
First of all he hired me even though I had none of the qualifications to actually work there lol. Sometimes our working relationship reminded me of Ron Swanson and April Ludgate. I had gotten to know him a bit before getting the job. He worked as a video/computer technician at a school where I was once a student. He helped me with some technical problems I was having when I was student there and I guess that's when our conversations began. He usually had music playing in his office and we bonded a bit over his music choices whenever I had a class nearby. Before I was done with college, he offered me a job as a replacement technician which surprised me. I had no idea what the fuck I was doing, but I observed how he solved technical problems and learned through copying him. Having to learn everything on the fly like that stressed me out, but it was a valuable lesson. To this day, I have no idea why he took a chance on me by giving me the job.
He wasn't much of a talker in the beginning which I was fine with because I'm not crazy about talking either. There were maybe one or two days where he turned up to work drunk. I could tell only because when he leaned in to talk to me his breath reeked of alcohol lmao. I never mentioned anything to him about the alcohol because he still did his job properly and efficiently on those days, the only difference was that he was more talkative, maybe even rambling with his words. I didn't think badly of it, if anything I found it highly amusing.
I think he became comfortable talking to me over time because I noticed he would just revert back to being quiet whenever school faculty members dropped by his office. Some faculty guy came in to gossip to him about office drama and ISTP just stood there giving sarcastic monosyllabic answers like "yeah", "uh huh", or "so fascinating" while I was on the other side of the office trying to keep myself from cackling. This faculty guy was oblivious to ISTP's sarcasm and kept on talking. After that guy left, I asked ISTP "you really don't like that guy, huh?" and he said "uh huh". Then we both went back to working quietly.
As time went on, a few days he turned up to work with a gift for me. I think that's when I started realizing that we were f
... keep reading on reddit β‘so my first issue, this sub made me think that the reason why the writers killed off Donna is because its their way to adapt some story-line in the comicbooks where the character died but then came back bigger and better, basically pulling a Gandalf. Now, I have not read any Titans comicbooks but there was no difference in her powers after she came back, expect she can now handle lightening. As far as I can tell, the only reason they might have wanted to kill her is so that she can help Tim Drake on the train to the afterlife.....and they could have just had Hank do that.
This is probably one that offends me the most, apart from my issues with Gar. They benched her for most of the season with the excuse of "she's in Themyscira trying to come to term with Donna's death and also train her". They showed us maybe 2-3 short scenes which culminate in her accepting Donna's death which was annoying af to me because at the same time, we see Donna in the afterlife and see she actually can come back. Even more-so, we get one scene of Raven being taught training. no journey for Raven whatsoever, and they apparently didn't think it was necessary to train her how to control her powers either, which seems a weird choice. As a person whose fav DC character is Raven, its disappointing. I want to believe the reason she was under-utilized is because maybe the actress was busy with another show since her IMDB page shows she was in another movie so maybe that's why?
after 3 season, it could not be clearer that the writer of this show don't know how to use Gar. It feels like they think the only way to use that character is just as a background character who is only useful when they have the budget to show him as an animal. Because apparently, its not possible for the character to learn to fight without resorting to his powers which would allow for him to be in more of the show and he is apparently also not allowed any substantial growth or character development if he cannot fight.
she gets a nice season for the most part but I just didn't like the clique of a psychiatrist being able to diagnose her and be willing to give her drugs without a proper session. Also, its not entirely explained why that black baby is the baby appearing in her dreams. the black baby helps her to discover the truth of her power but not explained why that particular black baby has to be the catalyst for that revelation.

It is worth noting a few catalysts of interest:
Also the catalysts Heir Apparent, Outbreak Perfected, Fourth Horseman, and Whisper of the Worm are all currently not obtainable. Bungie has noted they are planning on including these in the future but we will just have to wait and see.

First of all the music: I really liked it! It manages to feel familiar to the original soundtrack, yet also new and unique, while also being just dramatic and fun. I wouldn't say I preferred it to the original, but that's a really high bar to clear, and creating a completely new soundtrack for a series of six 20 minute episodes is something I didn't expect DreamWorks to do anyway.
I also really liked the wide range of characters. The show features many different ethnicities, races, and even orientations. But they don't point that out, which, in my eyes, would really devalue the message of inclusivity. They don't feel like the stereotypical token POCs/gay people, instead, they each have their own personalities and characteristics, just like any other character from HTTYD.
What I didn't enjoy quite as much, are the actual personalities of the characters. All of them, but especially the main character, often act bafflingly dangerously and recklessly just to move the plot along. In the first episode, Tom escapes, gets caught, escapes again, gets caught AGAIN, and then immediately runs away again (and magically never gets caught after that point). Their plan in the 6th episode also comes to mind - Tom decides to steal the huge, very conspicuous crane, get lowered into the gaping, deadly ravine, and to bet on the fact that he will find his dragon with his and his friends life, and none of the other characters raise ANY concerns? No, they instead opt to fully support this plan. Jun is also really terrible at keeping the dragons a secret, and I can't believe it isn't called out in the show. The induction of the other characters into dragon club doesn't feel natural at all, either. I felt like they didn't have enough time in the 6 episodes to show how each kid befriended dragons, and like they just rushed through it to end up with all four of them on dragons by the last episode.
What also feels rushed in my opinion is the creation of the bonds between the dragons and their riders, most jarringly between Tom and Thunder. In the movies, the Dinner with a dragon scene is this dramatic event with lots of buildup, and even after the scene where Hiccup touches Toothless for the first time, it is clear that Toothless doesn't completely trust him yet. The movie takes it's time to naturally show the gradual creation of the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless. In the show, they first meet, the boy offers him a fishcake, and suddenly they'
