A list of puns related to "Screamfest Horror Film Festival"
This year's Screamfest looks to be very promising.
The first wave of films announce include "The Amityville Murders", "Discarnate", "Draug", and A24's "The Final Wish" starring Lin Shaye.
We've compiled all the synopsis and whatever trailers are available as well as ticket information if you happen to be in Southern California! We will absolutely be there and are looking forward to review all the films screened.
The official Screamfest website can be found HERE.
Our horror script "Hangman" has been a work in progress since 2016, with over 30 drafts to date. I'm so excited! Does anyone have any experience with this festival?

One that stands out for me is the gruesome, downbeat and downright odd Aussie war scarred photographer who can raise the dead meets serial snuff killer film Fragment, from 2009. As far as I know, yet to have more of a release than on German DVD.
Now for experiences, my favourite is a toss up between Jorg Buttgereit talking for a full hour after a screening of Nekromantik and answering every single audience question, and David Hess after a screening of Smash Cut saying that he always wanted to be a musician before he got his first acting job by chance, and getting out a guitar and playing a few songs. For nuttiness though, not much can beat the showing of the 2012 Italian film Tulpa, at which around half way in most of the audience found themselves in uncontrollable floods of laughter even though it was intended as a straight faced giallo throwback rather than a comedy. Not mean spirited in intent, it's a festival where the audience truly love horror and the people who make it and are never out to make them feel bad, just a spontaneous collective experience of joyful lunacy. Sadly made the film-makers feel so bad that they left without doing a Q&A at the end though, and then even re-edited the film before distribution so the version we saw wasn't seen again.
Hi everyone! I live in Los Angeles and work in entertainment (freelance). I work an above-the-line position and am a lifelong horror fan. My work has been mostly in tv comedy and lately a shift into tv drama- however if I could work in one genre it would be horror films. My boss had a big role in making the original Candyman come to life, but I havenβt worked for anyone with horror connections particularly. Outside of Sundance and SXSW are there any film festivals (preferably in LA) that you enjoy a lot of work out of (even shorts)? Iβd love to attend some and start making connections.
So I just finished my first short film and have started looking up festivals on FilmFreeWay. This is my first real movie and there are so many options to choose from. My movie was already selected to a local festival and I wanted to try to submit to some other festivals.
Since my movie is a psychological horror animation, I am not sure if I should start submitting to festivals that are specifically horror oriented or just start submitting to any festival (Maybe the bigger ones?) and choose my specific category.
My budget for submitting to festivals isn't huge since I am a broke recently graduated film student so I would rather not submit to very expensive ones.
I would love to hear some recommendations from people that have worked on similar genres and other recommendations would be very helpful!
