In Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998), a grave is dedicated to Jimi Shindix, 1947-1972. This is a reference to musician Jimi Hendrix, who lived from 1942-1970. It only appears on screen for a split second.

Scooby doo on Zombie Island.
This movie was actually pretty good and the twists were actually decent.
The Ghost Pirates and the Cat People were both the villain's, While the other zombies were just people caught in between. I may check out the other Scooby Doo Animated movies later.
I give this film 9/10 Scooby Doobies. (Also do you think Fred ever tried to get a Threesome going with Daphne and Velma, but it turned out that Daphne was a prude and Velma was actually interested in it?)
Side Note: Don't try to watch The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo. The 88 animation is just bad and doesn't hold up at all.

They need to remaster Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, Scooby Doo and the Witches Ghost and Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders in crisp Full 1080p HD (I believe cyber chase is already in HD, if not then add that too) then release a set of all 4 of those movies in Blu-ray as a collection.

Something that bothered me the most recent time I saw Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island
This movie used to be my favorite Scooby-Doo as a kid. I loved that the monsters were real! And I loved the story, it was scary (for a kid) in a good way and I liked that the zombies were really good guys. (More on that later.)
So I was surprised the most recent time when I watched it how I suddenly started emphasizing with Simone and Lena.
The thing that bothers me is that Simone and Lena are villainized for literal self-defense. Morgan Moonscar and his crew murdered both of these ladies family and friends. They burned their town and stole their property. But the movie wants us to believe that the real tragedy was when the two ladies striked back and killed all the pirates. Daphne is horrified when she hears that the pirates were killed, and she even calls the zombie pirates "poor souls who were just trying to warn us."
Yes, Simone and Lena were wrong to try and kill the gang. But the movie outright says that the zombies are around to punish Simone and Lena for the wrong these two committed against them. When Simone and Lena die, the pirate zombies rest in peace because "their job is done." So the movie's point of view seems to be that Simone and Lena were evil for killing the pirates.

Anybody else want Blind Wave to react to Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island?
The Crew isn't opposed to stuff meant for younger audiences as long as it's still good and it is pretty much the Scooby movie everyone recommends as their favorite. I love to see their reaction to a surprising dark Scooby-Doo product.

I want an adult scooby doo and scream crossover. Letβs have the Scooby gang solve the mystery of whoβs the killer. It would also return to the animation style of zombie island. It will be rated R for blood, violence and cussing. Shaggy can make references to Stu. I need it.

Completely forgot about these until I watched Ryan Hollinger's video on them. They really were amazing and for kids' movies, really did explore some quite chilling themes. I haven't watched any of the recent ones but I've heard they've declined in quality....

Scooby doo on zombie island was my intro to horror
I watched it the other night and it held up way more than I expected. My mom has always been really into scooby doo and I watched this movie about 100 times as a kid. It was one of the few vhs copies of something that was mine. Are there any other Scooby-Doo movies released in recent years that are impressive? I have a soft spot for this franchise, but havenβt really kept up in recent years. Appreciate any recommendations

The villains in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island would have in the right if they stuck with killing pirates
Daphne is horrified when she hears that Lena and Simone killed the pirates who attacked their island. She says "Those were just the poor souls you drained! They were just trying to warn us!" Yes, the pirates were trying to warn the gang, but that doesn't change the fact that they were murderers who got what they deserved. But the gang acts as if the real crime was not the pirates attacking the island, but Lena and Simone avenging their family and friends.
I would have sided with Lena and Simone if they hadn't attacked tourists like the gang.
