A list of puns related to "Schitt's Creek Name"
So turns out the Levyβs must be pretty big fans of or had fun borrowing that name and phrase from Dexter?! I recently introduced my wife to Dexter and while rewatching myself we came across the suspect of βJohnny Roseβ in an episode. We figured it was just coincidence, but then later in the season they reference Johnny Rose and being up shits creek - which confirmed it for us.
Am I just late to the party and the creators acknowledged this fact?? This is the John Lithgow season as the Trinity Killer.
Tahani is high class so I feel like her circle is limited.
Alexis is the unexpected plus one at Tahani's event but also just came from escaping a Sultan's yacht
Thoughts?
As the title says, I need a witty or funny reference team name for a trivia night .Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance!
So in Schitt's Creek there's a theme of opposites in the urbane sophisticated Roses versus the rude, yokelly Schitts, just like roses smell lovely and shit smells... well, like shit.
However, in gardening, roses need manure (aka horse shit) to grow, just as the Roses grow and develop during their time in the town and their developing friendship with the Schitts.
Stevie Budd is obviously like a mini-rose, as she fits in so well with the family, and she is able to grow and bloom too.
Not sure about any of the other character surnames, but it's a cool connection for these two families.
And the rest is magnificent history
So, after enjoying Ted Lasso and absolutely loving The Good Place, I was looking for another uplifting, heartwarming, life-affirming comedy along those lines, and the overwhelming recommendation was Schitt's Creek.
I watched the first season of it and I actually didn't care for the show at all after 13 episodes. Fortunately, I wasn't quite interested in watching anything else - or doing anything else for that matter - so I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. I warmed up towards the show - very slowly, still - in Season 2, and by the last two scenes of the Season 2 finale, I was sold on it. Those are the scenes that got me onboard.
The reason I'm curious about what point other fans got onboard is that while I find it a common opinion that the show starts weak and then gets better, then point when it gets good typically varies from person to person, which is why I ask. In any case, I'm on Season 5 right now and can't wait to see the show through.
Just rewatched the last episode of season 6. I managed to hold it together the whole episode, until the last line where Johnny says, "Driver, we're ready." Random line to start crying at, but as soon as Johnny said that, I whispered "I'm not ready" immediately starts sobbing God I love this show
Edit: And yes I have also seen the other Schur shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation
Edit 2: Forgot to add that I also loved Kimβs Convenience
Re-watching the show for only the second time through. I discovered it right when they wrapped up the last season and fell in love right away.
In my re-watch, I forgot how great the cold opens are in this show, with one of my favorites being from the Wine and Roses Cold open.
What other shows shows have great cold openings? Schitts Creek seems to always knock those out of the park.
Personally, I think Schitt's Creek is a little overrated. The first season was great, then it was a copy of a copy of a copy. It wasn't awful, but it was predictable.
As for their dysfunction, the Rose family starts out as despicable, but over the course of the show, the members become more mature and moral. Compare that to the Bluth's who are despicable and incorrigible throughout.
I think that's the biggest difference among other differences. It's also the biggest reason why one show was a worldwide success, while the other got cancelled. AD has no moral arc or 'story.' You can't sympathize with a single character. Not even Michael.
It's pure comedy.
What do you think?
I am rewatching Shitt's Creek, and i am lmao on S1E8 when Moira and David tried to sell Allez Vous to the town's people, and then discover that they are also allez vous reps.

Did it ever say where Schitt's Creek was located? I always thought upstate NY. There are a lot of Amish communities there. But there are also Amish communities close to Ontario.. Curious what other people think.
