I actually remember hearing the news reports about Bland's controversial death in 2015. I remember thinking that it was very plausible that Bland was killed by the police while in the jail and I was very eager to hear how the investigation would turn out. So that's why I watched this 2-hour documentary.
I think it's very good, for those who like true crime or social justice issues. I'm not going to say it's great, however, because it was a little too political for my tastes (there's a lot of stuff about the Black Lives Matter movement - which is relevant to Bland's situation, yes - but probably didn't need to be about half the film). Ultimately, I would like to have a heard a plausible theory of how Bland might have been killed in prison - and I never really got that. So I'm kind of left with the impression even the filmmakers probably lean toward the theory Bland committed suicide.
Of course, that doesn't excuse law enforcement in Texas. She should never have been arrested. And she should never have been in a physical environment where suicide was achievable. In that sense, this doc kind of reminds me of the "Making a Murderer" series - even if you lean toward the theory Steven Avery is guilty (and I do), it's still a worthy doc because it shines a flashlight at some pretty grievous shortcomings in our legal system.
In any catch, give it a watch and decide for yourself - if the premise intrigues you.

The doctor found 1 blockage in her heart. He said he is not positive he will be able to reach it via heart catherization. If it turns out he can reach it he will place a stent. If not, she will have to have open heart surgery.
Please pray strong prayers for my mom, she is having her heart catherization in the morning. Her name is Sandra Riley.
She is my everything.
Please pray that the procedure goes well and is free of complications, and pray that the stent will work so that she does not have to have the more severe surgery.
Please pray for God to heal her heart completely so she can go on living a normal, long and happy life.
Please pray that she wakes up from the surgery perfectly healthy, happy and safe and alive on this beautiful place we call Earth.
