I wanna watch the series, and because there's a reboot I was wondering if it's a worthwhile replacement to the original.

When similar reboots like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Fruits Basket, and Hunter x Hunter are actually considered superior to their older counterparts? Why does it tend to be opposite for Sailor Moon Crystal?
I really liked the animation style in Sailor Moon Crystal seasons 1 and 2, but Iβve seen a few people on this reddit say that they didnβt really like it or that it was trash. So, my question is, for those of you who didnt like the animation in those seasons, why? Is there something I should pay more attention too? Sorry if I sound dumb!
In the height of Sailor Moon's popularity we were given a wide array of dubbing from different countries. I can speak spanish and have watched most of the series in spanish. Well I would always love to introduce my mom to Sailor Moon she don't really have the time to watch 200 episodes of the 90's spanish dub. Also with it being challenging to find online as well in good quality. I would have loved a spanish dub of Crystal. So ever since Sailor Moon Crystal was announced I know there's been at the very least an English, Japanese and I believe a Korean dub. Unfortunately we didn't get a spanish dubbing of it. But with Netflix doing a spanish dubbing of the eternal movie they could easily have them dub over Sailor Moon Crystal as well as any other language dub they did for Eternal. I know im like a small percentage of the Sailor Moon fan that wants a spanish dub but man I think some Sailor Moons fan would be so happy to watch the Crystal anime in a language they understand. As far as I am aware Crystal didn't do too well and I doubt Netflix will ever dub Crystal in the other languages but it just sucks. You got Eternal that has like 4 languages options and all of Crystal only has Japanese and English on netflix. Anyways that's all I wanted to say that it be cool if Netflix decided to Dub Sailor Moon Crystal in spanish.

I just started watching Crystal and I have to say, despite hearing not the greatest reviews over the years, Iβm really enjoying it! The animation for Silver Millennium was so beautiful and I really like Mamoruβs character so much more in this take. His and Usagiβs relationship especially comes across as so much more loving and mutual than I remember it being in the 90s anime.
My gf started watching Sailor Moon and then found out that Sailor Moon Crystal is a more comprehensive version of the main plot points. However, the OG series still has some funny and wacky episodes that seem worth watching. Any recommendations from the OG series to watch?
A little while ago, I said I had started Sailor Moon for the first time, starting with Crystal (I'm happy to start the manga soon.) I just finished S3 and I wanted to share my thoughts and see what others thought. I had said this before but the animation and character moments were SO much better than S1 and 2. I really enjoyed it! I never got tired of the transformations and the attacks. they were all amazing!
I was kinda confused about the Usagi and Haruka stuff in terms of the sort of love triangle that was going on. Like...idk, it just felt weird, especially when Haruka kissed Usagi. Like we know Usagi and Mamoru is meant to be plus we know Haruka is in a committed relationship with Michiru. After the initial kiss, the moment isn't really brought up again. It kinda just felt like having it for the sake of drama. If anyone else has a different opinion, I'm all ears. Maybe I'm just not getting it. I genuinely would like to hear other people's thoughts. At the end, I really liked Haruka and Michiru as characters and were a welcome addition to the cast. Also i LOVE Sailor Pluto and was very happy they brought her back.
I really liked Kaolinite and the Witches 5. They were A LOT of fun and they were my favorite villains so far. Pharoah 90 and Mistress 9 were kinda generic tho and I would probably put them below even the villains from S1 and 2.
The last thing of note is I loved Usagi's development as a character. I didn't really like her in S1 and 2 that much as she was very immature and I just didn't like her as much as the other Guardians. However, Usagi was SO GOOD in S3. They really focused on showing how much Usagi has grown since S1 and 2, and seeing her hesitate a lot less and take matters in her own hands was incredible, especially with the way she handled the Outer Guardians and the final fight. Also, I think the transformation of Super Sailor Moon might have been the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. I loved everyone putting their energy together and leading to this beautiful moment. Incredible!
Oh, also didn't care for Chibi Usa that much in S2 but she also matured a lot more here. Her relationship with Hotaru and helping Usagi and Mamoru to make up were 10/10. That scene in particular made me tear up. So good. Plus, my boi Mamoru continues to be the best boyfriend/father out there. He didn't do much, but I loved hi nonetheless. HE CHAPERONED HIS DAUGHTERS FRIEND DATE SO WHOLESOME I LOVE IT!

Iβm only on episode two, but I cannot get over how bad the characters look, especially in comparison to the retro aesthetic in the original (which I know canβt be helped since it was actually retro). Like the eyes are SO CLOSE TOGETHER and narrow, the faces are WAY too narrow and long like ???? And the lipstick is killing me. Mentally. Physically. Something about it makes them look like wine moms. Please tell me Iβm not the only one having MAJOR issues with the visual aesthetic of this show. Like Iβm going to watch it and Iβm hoping it gets better since the ratings are (surprisingly) high, but I need somebody to tell me Iβm not crazy. The animation is good, itβs literally just the characters that are just awful to look at for me personally. I mean if Iβm not going to miss out on anything that wasnβt in the original anime, Iβm not going to watch it bc the aesthetic of a show is really important for me to enjoy it and Iβm really not enjoying it.

So iβm watching sailor moon crystal for the first time and iβm SO glad they made mamoru younger π the fact he was a college student was such a turn off. Even though he looks the same i feel better about shipping them LOL.
Now let me start off by saying there is nothing like the original sailor moon from the 90s it kick so much ass! Iβm gonna be honest here as a sailor moon fan I really like Sailor Moon crystal. I understand it doesnβt have its fans and people say itβs not as good as the original but to me itβs pretty good! Yes itβs not like the classics but you know what. I like it!
The only thing I donβt like about it is when osacky Is crying now that can get annoying. But besides all of that Sailor Moon crystal is really good! Yes the original 1990s sailor moon is iconic and classic but Sailor Moon crystal is just as good. And this is coming from a guy whoβs grown up with the original Sailor Moon. You guys and girls opinions may vary some of you may not like it some of you guys may think itβs better than the 1990s version. I donβt know. So, what are your opinions on Sailor Moon crystal? Watching Crystal, season 2, the episodes where Mercury, Jupiter and almost Venus get captured. In Mercury's episode, Moon has the red/pink arm's length wand. In Jupiter's episode, she uses the staff with the crescent moon. In the Venus episode, she uses the red/pink one again. I only remember her ever having one wand per season, and the staffs came last, right? Does she have multiples in Crystal?
