So I have a very slightly used (<500 rounds) KAC SR15 upper i recently purchased. I've yet to take it out due to ranges near me being closed, but when I was first cleaning it I noticed there was a brown residue on the gas block. With some research, I saw a comment that mentioned a brown coating that could be the cause (someone else said theirs was rusting), but no one confirmed if that is actually a thing or not.
I'm not really concerned that it won't run, mostly just that the upper has seen more wear than the seller claimed. Is this actually just some brown coating that KAC applies to some of the parts of their uppers or have I been scammed?
Something I had seen many years ago on the old Aussie TV channel, ABC 3. The show followed a brother and sister that had to look after and create a world. However, the sister becomes power-hungry and forces all the other people to do manual labour. The brother does not agree with the sister is doing so she banishes him. The brother tries to make his way back to the main city and that is the premise of each episode. The colouring is very bland consisting of mostly browns and rust-like colours. The animation style is also very surreal and almost scary at times.
Thanks in advanced if anyone manages to find this! I know it isn't a lot to work off of.
So, I believe my blue rili are infected with a bacterial infection of the brown spot/rust variety.
A few individuals have always had a little brown coloration since I received them (about a month ago), and I've read that a little brown isn't unusual among blue shrimp (therefore making it difficult to distinguish), so I wasn't sure if it was natural or a sign of trouble.
But a few days ago I noticed a molt that definitely had brown coloration on it (a good indicator of the disease) so I started looking into it more and paying closer attention. Today, I found a very rusty appearing berried momma dead in the corner. Observing her closely pretty much confirms it for me. A few of the shrimp appear to be okay, no brown patches at all, so far. One is definitely in the thick of the infection.
Because I hadn't previously been super careful about cross contamination between tanks (such as sticking my hand in one tank and then immediately into another), and this is a water bourne bacterial infection, I am understandably concerned about all my shrimp varieties.
None of my bloody Mary shrimp appear infected, same with the golden yellow. However, my green jade may be infected as well (they vary between green and blueish and a few individuals have some brownish patches that again I cannot tell whether they are natural or not, but these ARE from the chocolate line and the brown looks more like a racing stripe than anything idk).
I'm reading my options for treatment are
