This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 15%. (I'm a bot)

> The World Anti-Doping Agency announced Saturday that its executive committee has revoked the "Approved" status for the Russian national anti-doping laboratory in Moscow to handle blood sample analysis.

> WADA said the committee voted Friday to endorse a disciplinary committee recommendation to strip the Moscow lab of handling blood samples for failing to comply with International Standard for Laboratories regulations and its Code of Ethics.

> The Moscow lab, which was already provisionally suspended since January 2020, was notified of the decision, which keeps it ineligible to carry out any work related to the analysis of blood samples in connection with athlete biological passports or any anti-doping analysis for organizations compliant with WADA's code.

> Following last year's provisional suspension, the disciplinary committee was required to make a recommendation to the WADA executive committee regarding the lab's status for blood work in athlete biological passports.

> The committee study was delayed until CAS rendered a decision last December in a lab appeal.

> WADA said that based on documents provided by the parties, the committee found lab personnel manipulation of data was "Detrimental to the anti-doping program" and a serious violation that justified the revocation of accreditation.

Confused by the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Ban of Russian Driver in World Championship

Congrats to Shwartzman that win the Sprint Race 1 of Baku today, dominating performance.

But I am confused that shouldn’t all Russian drivers should run as independent driver not under Russian flag and national anthem, because of the WRDA’s sanction (for example, Mazepin in F1)? The news says the sanction is covering all the world championships. But today both Russian flag and national anthem are presented during the podium

Confused

Treasury Targets Russian Operatives over Election Interference, World Anti-Doping Agency Hacking, and Other Malign Activities | Sanctions on former GRU officer who reports directly to Deripaska, Internet Research Agency, & 15 GRU Officers

On Wednesday we learned of some dropped Russian sanctions. The details were easily lost during this ridiculous week. Here is some clarity.

The reversal on sanctions is against 3 companies previously majorly owned by Deripaska. This is a small part of a round of sanctions passed on Apr 6, 2018. Deripaska and 5 other of his companies remain sanctioned. This follows an agreement between Deripaska and the Treasury Dept. developed over several months, to reduce his ownership in the companies and other changes to diminish his control.

The same day as this lift was announced, the Treasury announced that the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control "took action in response to Russia’s continued disregard for international norms. Specifically, OFAC designated a former officer the GRU for having acted on behalf of Deripaska", further designations against the IRA, and 15 members of the GRU, "for their involvement in a wide range of malign activity, including attempting to interfere in the election, efforts to undermine international organizations through cyber-enabled means, and an assassination attempt in the UK."

  • Concord Management and Consulting LLC and Concord Catering - 2 companies owned by Prigozhin; previously indicted by Mueller

>Project Lakhta concealed its activities by operating through several entities to include the IRA, Nevskiy News LLC, Economy Today LLC, and the Federal News Agency LLC

>Within weeks after the designation of the IRA, the Federal News Agency LLC announced that it was creating a new Russian-funded, English-language website called USA Really.
