a few months ago I posted this post on this sub... so here's an update on how it went:
I ended up starting in Kahrlsruh, Germany and rode the black forest nature park cycling path (clockwise) and instead of going back towards north on the last stage, I went west to Strasbourg ,France.
From there I cycled the wine route of Alsace ( EuroVelo 5 ) all the way down to Basel, Switzerland.
I wanted to keep my options open (as in where to go from there) but I really wasn't sure at this point if I wanted to keep going down towards southern France, stay in Switzerland or explore the south of Germany further...but when I arrived in Switzerland I was invited to stay with friend of a friend in Lausanne.. so I took the train from Basel and stayed in Lausanne for a couple of nights which was definitely one of the highlights of this tour (cycling around lake Geneva is incredible).
from Lausanne I cycled north east towards Lucerne, Switzerland (via Bern) where I had to end my tour and take the train back home to Berlin.here are some pics from this 4 weeks adventure.
this was my first long distance tour and the experience could not have been any better (maybe other then a horrible heat wave on the first week)
I got into cycling only 5 years ago and did all of my rides in and around Berlin (mostly very flat terrain) so I defiantly had no climbing experience and despite being in good shape I underestimated how tough it'll be to climb with a fully loaded touring bike (and like any beginner, I definitely over-packed!)
In-spite of the difficulties, I'm glad I took the hilly roads of the black forest, the views defiantly paid off.. same goes for Switzerland..
despite having far less dramatic scenery, the wine route was probably my favorite part of the tour.. there's just something magical about that place that is hard for me to put into words..
I might write another post on what I learned , tips etc (do we have enough of those on this sub already?) what you learn on your first week of a first big tour is probably worth more than a thousand articles etc..maybe also gear review..what work and what didn't..
so thanks again for the people in this commun

LOL the GDQ effect of new runners coming in and finding new tricks never ceases to amaze me.
What happens is we make a quicksave in the hub world, and we don't ever make another quick save until we are ready to warp. What we need to do is quickload and then ASAP hit the quicksave button (very small gap between hitting each of them, I'm talking possible 1-2 frame window) and what will happen is it will load us BACK to our original QS (in the hub world) but with our current map information (coordinates, enemies, item spawns etc).
What you see me do in E2M2 is I launch myself off the citadel roof in that specific way in order to align myself along the map coordinates just right, so that when I port back to the hub world I am under the floor where the Episode 7 loading zone is located. From there I just waltz right into it and finish the run as normal.
This can be much faster, as you saw I made a couple mistakes. A low 6 minute (possibly sub 6 minute being honest) run is very possible with this. Obviously it is going to be its own category separate from the previous Any% runs we've previously done.
I came close to pulling the trigger on 4 VIP seats, but it occurred to me that if my first Al show had been without costumes, props, videos and parodies, I might not have been that into it.
Anybody bring their young kids and found they still enjoyed it?
Iβm thinking of a number between 1 and 1000. Make your guess is the comments. One guess per person. The closest answer wins the codes. Contest closes Monday, November 22nd, 9:00PM CST. US only. Good luck and have fun!
Edit: Thank you to all who entered! This contest is now CLOSED. I would like to congratulate u/ironmanftww for guessing the closest number! They guessed 616, the answer was 595, a difference of only 21. Message me to receive your codes, if you donβt message me in a couple days Iβll try and reach out. Thanks again for playing!
Feel free to make a graphical map of this, I'm just going to make a list, since my photoshop-fu is weak.
Start at the Nimbus System, in the Beta Quadrant Pop QSD as soon as it is off cooldown; it's first use should be the moment you've earned the 25k from Nimbus. Obviously, I recommend engines and warp cores/singularity cores that boost your warp yield, reduce your QSD cooldown, and a Polaric Modulator also helps. Buying the Lead Foot trait from the Exchange is a (relatively) cheap way to cover more ground and gain maneuverability when your QSD is active.
Nimbus --> Lirss --> Alini --> Vorn --> Iconia --> Gamma Eridon --> Pheben --> Sanek --> Qo'noS --> Khitomer --> Archanis --> Drozana Station --> Traelus --> Risa --> Orion --> Vendor --> Mylasa --> New Romulus --> Virinat --> Argelius --> Teneebia --> ALPHA QUADRANT, TELLAR SECTOR --> Tellar --> Ferenginar --> Breen --> Arawath --> Defera --> Tzenketh --> Mizar --> Chapel --> Betazed --> Corwin --> Deep Space 9 --> Algira (END ROUTE).
I hope this helps. There was another thread about how to get more ships from Admiralty, and it was revealed that many people still don't have a good route to cover the most amount of ground. I usually have about 2:30 left on the clock when I run this, but I have the Vesta 3-piece, Lead Foot, Epic Mk XIV MACO Impulse Engine, and an Advanced Mk XIV fleet warp core with SSR specifically for this run.
I will check Greyhound but anything else? We can think outside the box for this. I heard there's some sort of rideshare option or something?
Thanks :)
Hello apes,
Iβm back.
I found an extra crayon in the jar to write this DD.
My god, it looks delicious*, but the good apes should hear this⦠Blueberry crayons are my favorite...*
This actually was DD that I wanted to post before BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH.
But I found too many connections in that DD and my mind just started rolling once I got to the RC part. That DD isnβt a requirement for this one. This one is still about GME.
And I included an actual TLDR:
TLDR: Redditors like smaller bites and pictures than walls of text.
I know it was annoying to put a prerequisite on that DD. I figured either most apes that have been paying attention would have just started reading. Or no one read the DD library and just read the post anyway. I felt like that one needed to be out first.
Or no one Redditβ¦haha laughter to mask the pain
Which is fine, Iβm not doing this for you apes anyway. I wanted to expand my own horizons.
Fortunately, I have a public square to post my findings.
What better way to tell the naked truth in the middle of a public square amirite???
Hereβs hoping that MOASS is sooner than my prediction in said DD.
I really want to tell my wife that the boyfriend needs to sleep in the cellar from now on.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Bestie, what is The Root of All Evil?
Simply put.
Money.
DD over.
Just kidding.
Letβs start with the basics.
money
MONEY
What is Money?
(Internet Historian please cover GME please please please)
Money is an item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services. Money has been in various forms and has been around longer than written records. It ran empires; it has been used by hunter-gatherers in some form. Money makes the world go around as they say and always has by the history we have on record.
What are goods?
Food, Clothes, Your phone, etc. Anything that you can hold in your hand and purchase is a good.
What is a service?
Netflix, your subscription to your favorite e-girl. Anything intangible that can be bought.
