A list of puns related to "Roland Jupiter 6"
Hi everyone, new user here. Iβve been told in no uncertain terms by my son to get on here and talk to people who know far more than I do!
I have a Roland Jupiter 8 that I reluctantly need to sell. Absolutely no idea really how to go about doing so, nor how much to sell it for. I purchased it in 1986 and have kept it in immaculate condition.
Could someone provide me with the soundfonts I mentioned above?
Iβm thinking about selling off a few of my older vintage synths and getting a Jupiter X to cover all my roland needs. Iβve heard mixed reviews about it, but it seems like it does excellent emulations of all of Rolandβs top synths and drum machines. Any owners out there that can weigh in? Thanks
Iβve been looking at the Jupiter X for a long time. It ainβt cheap.
The boutiques are more in my price range.
At the point I was going to purchase the Juno/SH101/JX boutique versions, would it be actually better to just get the Jupiter X or have I got this really wrong?
Hopefully this makes senseβ¦
Thank you
I was looking for a new synth on the Black Friday and I was considering a Moog (Sub-25, Granny or Sound Studio), some of those new Korg Models (Opsix, Wavestate or Modwave) and Roland Jupiter-XM.
As I needed a machine capable of doing anything from recording directly into my PC to effects and a broad palette of sounds, Jupiter-XM looked like the best option out of those. But then I saw the MC-707 Groovebox and it looks very good as well, also significantly cheaper on Roland website in my country (something like $400 cheaper). The demos on YouTube are majestic and it seems pretty capable of doing everything I need, it is like a hardware DAW.
My main interest is in ambient and experimental stuff and I am also not a keys player (even though I'm currently learning).
Is the MC-707 a better option than the XM?
Me and my ex roomate had this discussion in April 2021. Should I get a TI Virus or something else. Im into EDM music, 80s music and Music Scores. He told me work with the virtual synths you got and I would pick a Roland Jupiter over a TI Virus. Theres no TI Virus without a Roland Jupiter being made. My roomate was saying that these producers with TI virus are sponsored or get it for free to sell their product. When you see your favorite hero your interested in their gear or clothes. I heard problems from TI VIrus being buggy and not friendly to Processors. TI Virus was from the 2000 era and eventually the hardware will be dwarfed whatever that means. So this question comes down to hardware more than virtual synths. Which one sounds better? Would the consumer audience know the difference?
Asking $3750 shipped, open to offers. I have it listed on reverb. Located in Utah, ships CONUS.

Hi
I see this synth has a lot of old Roland synths all in one, plus drum machines, and I'm liking the look and sound of it.
What I'm not clear on, is what is typically included when you first buy, and what requires a subscription to the Roland cloud? Do I need to pay for a load of "plug-outs" and a monthly sub or are most of them already included in the package?
Thanks!
I've been eyeing a Jupiter XM - originally I didn't care about this synth at all as it seems like it's robbing the Jupiter name for marketing purposes, with not enough front-panel editing. BUT, listening to sound demos and it sounds so freaking good. To my ears, over YouTube at least, sounds better than a Super 6, Peak, the DSI synths, etc etc. I'm lacking a real serious modern polysynth and this sounds like a total workhorse.
Anyway, biggest complaint is the menu diving. I have some old Roland gear and I know the horrors of Roland's mental UI. I saw that they've since put out a computer editor. Curious if anyone with an XM has tried it. Seems useful but looking at videos it looks laggy as hell. Even things like lists with a scrollbar which isn't doing any MIDI communication - it makes me wonder what Roland's software team is smoking. But is it useable enough? Do you use the editor or do you just deal with editing on the hardware?
Excited to get it! Anyone else own one?
While the piano sounds are great in the Jupiter X, I want a dedicated digital piano. So far in my research I have come across the newly designed roland fp series. The tiers are 30x, 60x and 90x. I was wondering is the 60x or 90x better enough than the 30x to warrant the higher prices or should I get the 30x? Or should I look into a different unit entirely? My price range is $500-$1500
