A list of puns related to "Roger Bart"
do we know?
Let's get the obviously most contentious part of this out of the way first:
You really have to squint to see Joey Bart as a part of the long term plans of this front office. Yes, he hits the ball hard. Yes, he has a good slashline in AAA. He also strikes out nearly 30% of the time and barely walks more than 5% of the time. His current BABIP is above 400, and for somebody who hits the ball on the ground a lot, this indicates he's been getting lucky. Personally, I don't see him as a > 2 War player, and given Buster's resurgence he won't get the opportunity to start in SF until at least 2023. He's a diminishing asset at this point, let's not sunk-cost this because he was highly regarded when he was drafted.
The slater calculus is pretty simple, He's a good 4th outfielder. We have a lot of good outfielders. Basically surplus value, and gives us some more flexibility on the 40 man
Edit: The title is the bulk of the value, as people have pointed out, we'd probably have to include a couple top 20 prospects (ex Seth Corry, PTNBL or Cash). I'd still do it
The return:
What's particularly appealing with this deal (versus one for Scherzer or Kimbrel/Bryant) is that this deal also makes us considerably better next year. Berrios and Rogers aren't free agents until 2023.
Berrios certainly isn't as good as scherzer, but he's a solid 2/3 guy. He's consistently sported a FIP under 4, strikes guys out, and eats innings. You could pretty easily envision him putting up 6 WAR over the time we have him, and he would definitely make us more formidable in the playoffs.
Taylor Rogers, evil twin to Orange Submarine Tyler Rogers, is a completely different reliever, yet still elite. He strikes guys out and has consistently been one of the best relievers in the game over the past 4 years. Imagine having to hit Tyler's rising slider from the right in the 7th and then having to hit Taylor's 97 FB from the left in the 9th. Fun. Think of the memes. '
Yes, we should be sad to lose major league talent in Bart and Slater, but it makes us such a better team, and not just for this year. If we're serious about winning, this is a no brainer.
Do we think their paths ever crossed? Roger makes Bart look like a teddy bear by comparison.
"And she has two living parents"
271 Quarterbacks have been drafted since the year 2000. The average QB career is 4.4 years, the average nfl career is 3.3 years.
4 Super Bowls have featured an undrafted QB, and of those, Kurt Warner has won (versus Steve McNair who was the 3rd overall pick).
Other times the Super Bowl winning QB was picked well behind their opposition:
Bart Starr (Round 17) over Len Dawson (Round 1) in 1967
Roger Staubach (Round 10) over Bob Griese (Round 1) in 1972
Roger Staubach (Round 10) over Craig Morton (Round 1) in 1978
Joe Montana (Round 3) over Dan Marino (Round 1) in 1985
Joe Montana (Round 3) over John Elway (Round 1) in 1990
Jeff Hostetler (Round 3) over Jim Kelly (Round 1) in 1991
Mark Rypien (Round 6) over Jim Kelly (Round 1) in 1992
Brett Favre (Round 2) over Drew Bledsoe (Round 1) in 1997
Brad Johnson (Round 9) over Rich Gannon (Round 4) in 2003
Tom Brady (Round 6) over Donovan McNabb (Round 1) in 2005
Drew Brees (Round 2) over Peyton Manning (Round 1) in 2010
Russell Wilson (Round 3) over Peyton Manning (Round 1) 2014
Tom Brady (Round 6) over Russell Wilson (Round 3) in 2015
Tom Brady (Round 6) over Matt Ryan (Round 1) in 2017
Tom Brady (Round 6) over Jared Goff (Round 1) in 2019
Tom Brady (Round 6) over Patrick Mahomes (Round 1) in 2021
Aaron Rodgers was a first-round pick in 2005. But he was selected behind:
Alex Smith
Ronnie Brown
Braylon Edwards
Cedric Benson
Cadillac Williams
Adam Jones
Troy Williamson
Antrel Rolle
Carlos Rogers
Mike Williams
DeMarcus Ware
Shawne Merriman
Jammal Brown
Thomas Davis
Derrick Johnson
Travis Johnson
David Pollack
Erasmus James
Alex Barron
Marcus Spears
Matt Jones
Mark Clayton
Fabian Washington
Randy Moss was the 21st overall pick. Jerry Rice was the 16th overall pick. That's 35 players who were regarded as more valuable than the two best Wide Receivers in NFL history.
Emmit Smith was pick 17.
Almost every eligible draft class has produced at least one Hall of Fame player regardless how weak that class was deemed to be by experts.
How many times have two 1st round quarterbacks ever faced off in the Super Bowl? It has happened a grand total of 11 times. And the last time it happened happens to be the only time in which both players were #1 overall. That showdown took place in 2016 between Peyton Manning and Cam Newton.

Hey all. I've been watching TP since 2014. We all have our reasons as to why we stick around lol. I won't go into that. As a long time watcher and forum lurker, I wanted to share some random memories I have of her that aren't mentioned as much as I'd like them to be. I might be misremembering some small details so correct me if Iβm wrong. Please share any random memories you have too!
-Roger Bart: This was her first ever manipulative online exposΓ© breakdown, not Sean. She used to keep her relationships very secret and would post videos about her issues without saying the guy's name. But this time she exposed/outed him to millions of viewers as her "boyfriend." It all started with her finding out he had a girlfriend (not her) through mutual friends on set of Shane's movie (I think). She had a full meltdown at a Halloween (?) party where she was dressed as a Wicked character (?) and she posted it to youtube. This is the origin of her current shit-talking behaviors online. She posted many nasty videos about him, spreading rumors about his sexuality, and got him to shut down his small online presence. This is how she became cocky about destroying others' social media. She was also living in a rented house hoping he'd move in with her, and there was some court issue about her not paying rent (?) to a Wayans brother who owned the property. I remember she showed up to her court date wearing a men's suit. I don't think she has ever "owned" a property until now... even now it's difficult to say she owns that house.
-Feud with Tommy Lee: She and Jason did one of her dress up photo shoots where they dressed up as Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson, and Tommy Lee actually saw those photos and got really upset. He sent out a message calling her out on IG and called her "Spamela." It was clear TP was super shocked and embarrassed about his reaction. She never mentioned it again beyond one video after his response.
-TP saying "I wish I could be a light-skinned black": I cannot for the life of me remember the exact video but it was on her vlog channel. She was eating or driving in her car and I remember her saying this. It was several years ago, when she would more often troll about her race. Anyone remember this???
-TP saying "I would never do porn": In her early videos she used to talk about how she would never cross this line. When she ended up doing a porn Patreon and eventually OF, I knew this was not what she wanted to ever do despite her saying she loves it. S

Joe Montana: 3rd
Johnny Unitas: 9th
Bart Starr: 17th
Roger Staubach: 10th
Russel Wilson: 3rd
Tom Brady: 6th
Matt Leinart, Johnny Manziel, Robert Griffin III, JaMarcus Russell, and Ryan Leaf were all drafted in the 1st round.
Wes Welker, Adam Vinatieri, Tony Romo, John Randle, Warren Moon, Kurt Warner, and Adam Thielen weren't even drafted.
Every time I see someone say, "This is a terrible draft class" I feel a little nauseated. Even if you were a time traveler from the future with actual first-hand knowledge, it would still be subjective.
What's not subjective? The Vikings record with Kirk Cousins at QB.
Tomorrow will be Rockies and D-Backs.
Yes some of these will be obvious.
This isnβt necessarily to determine which team is better, just which team has the better player at each position.
NL Teams will be given a DH because of the likelihood of a DH being added. Also because it allows more discussion.
