A list of puns related to "Rockaway Beach Boulevard"
For those that don't know it's a small/mid sized festival held at Butlins - mix of older established acts (Jarvis Cocker's band and Tricky are playing) and more up and coming stuff. Bit of a cut down ATP with less drugs basically.
Had expected restrictions to have killed it but it looks like it's going ahead - it's a bit of an older crowd than most festivals so a good bout of covid (Or anything else) could really rip through it... Getting some confusing and contradictory advice re mask wearing from Butlins too. I'm still going unless there is a last minute turnaround by the government, but think it will be a bit strange.
Help me find Patricia Sheaβs killer!
I am hoping someone will come forward with information to help us bring my Auntβs killer to justice. It has been almost 40 years, and still no conviction or indictment. She was a GREAT person, kind and thoughtful of others, but also tough enough to stand up to someone doing something wrong in her neighborhood. Would you do the same for her?
Patricia Shea was 44 years old when she was murdered on July 26, 1982. She was my Aunt Pat and sister to my father John Shea. They were both raised in Rockaway, New York. Patricia Shea lived at 107-10 Shore Front Parkway, Rockaway, NY until the time of her death. My father had moved us to New Jersey.
She went on a trip with a male friend or boyfriend for the weekend. The boyfriend who did not live in the same building. He was ruled out very quickly as a suspect.
They arrived back on the 25th of July, 1982 (Sunday), at approximately 10:30 - 11pm at 107-10 Shore Front Parkway, Rockaway, NY.
Pat went to her apartment to bring bags up. She received a call from an elderly friend Aggie who lived in 106-20 Shore Front Parkway on the third floor, just across the lot from her apartment building. It would take less than a minute to walk between the buildings. She was seen by the boyfriend coming down the elevator (or just outside?) at 107-10 Shore Front Pkwy on her way over to the elderly woman and told him she was going over to see Aggie/Agnes who needed her help with something. It was stated that Agnes had some form of dementia and was bedridden.
That was the last time she was recognized and alive (approx 11:15pm, Sunday, July 25). Did anyone else see her in,or near 106-20 Shore Front Pkwy? Pat was wearing white pants and a yellow top and had short red hair. Officers said they were also trying to track down a man who friends said was last seen at 106-20 apartment building.
Her body was found the next day at approx 6 - 6:30am off Center Drive in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in some bushes. Very little effort was made to hide her body.
Her feet were tied and in a brown sack. A thin nylon cord/rope was found and she had been strangled.
When interviewed by police, the older woman Aggie kept saying βthe blonde man hurt Patβ. Unfortunately, this was supposedly all she could say in her state of mind.
The case is currently being handled by Detective William Simon, Cold Case Homicide Squad, Brooklyn: (718) 330-4125. Please contact him with any information you have, or have heard from ot

As the title states, looking for a new place and came across some good housing in Rockaway Beach. However, curious about the airplane sounds being so close to JFK.
Does anyone live in that area (or previously lived there) that can attest to the noise level? Is it manageable, too noisy all the time, etc.
Thank you in advance for any feedback!
Want to go spend the day on a beach. I will be going by myself. Was planning on taking the ferry.
Is it safe to go to Rockaway beach alone? Iβm just worried about leaving my stuff as I go get in the water for a little bit. If there are life guards Iβll lay out close to one and just keep a close eye on my things.
