A list of puns related to "Rock Climbing Caption"
At home, I never had parents who would support me, no matter what. Everything that my parents provided was explicitely with the implication that I should give them something in return, such as getting good grades. It has always been conditional and I don't think people who grew up in normal families and were loven unconditionally understand.
I was told that I came across as a person who thinks the world is against her, but how can I not be? I had to accept that the only one who cares about me and my wellbeing is myself. Unfortunately, I hate myself to the degree that I can't even stand thinking about my needs.
Never having experienced unconditional love in my life, starting with the very people who would be expected to support me, has caused me to be depressed and always with the feeling of having to fend for myself, as no one would care enough to help me, because I have nothing to give back in return.
I am so exhausted. People who were worthy enought to be loved unconditionally have a certain (self-)confidence and stability I could never achieve. They don't understand that every failure in my life is so much more significant to me.
They can fail and still be confident that the harness, their support system will save them. In my live, there is no such thing - if I fall, it's over. That's why I am not trusting, not confident in my own choices. How could I be?
TL;DR: Having grown up without unconditional love and support from my parents, failures are so much bigger to me than to those who have a support system that they can trust in.
The PHO has declared indoor rock climbing is a sport, NOT a fitness activity!
If you are looking for something to keep fit, something to think about.
Hi all, I am wondering what is the best way of incorporating rock climbing during the week if I am doing the recommended routine (RR) as per the suggested 3x a week. My thinking is that if I am doing the RR 3x a week, then any additional working out, such as rock climbing, during the week would lead to overuse injuries. I really enjoy rock climbing and I also enjoy doing the RR so I appreciate any advice on how to do both. A couple strategies I can think of is alternating between just rock climbing one week and just the RR the following week, or doing the RR one to two times a week with rock climbing one to two times a week. My main concerns are that I will progress slowly towards my calisthenics goals or I will end up with unbalanced body strength by too much pulling exercise (from the rock climbing). Thanks for the help!
Non-climbing Vermonter here looking for recommendations for friends who are visiting in June! (Covid-dependent, of course)
Iβm finally getting some of my California friends to come visit Vermont this summer, and a few of them are really into rock climbing. Any climbers here have recommendations for favorite places to go? I live in Addison County so I think anything in the ridgeline between Warren and Killington would be ideal. Of course, if there is an amazing climb thatβs a little bit further out and is worth the drive, Iβll let them know about that too. Or if there are any groups that will be doing climbs in mid-June who they could sync up with, Iβm sure they would appreciate that too.
FYI I looked at the CRAG website but it seem to be more about member resources than climbing recommendations.
Thanks in advance!
My wife and I are temporarily relocating to Johnson city for 3 months( she is a travel nurse on assignment) and it seems the only place to do any climbing is at the college, not being a student I donβt have access to it, so are there any good outdoor places to climb? Or any climbing gyms that arenβt in NC?
It was a gripping performance.
Hey y'all. I've recently gotten into rock climbing and was wondering if it's an effective way to get a calisthenic workout? I've always had a hard time going to the gym/doing the RR because it gets boring for me and I lose motivation to go back, but the enjoyment of rock climbing/bouldering has been enough to keep me going back to my climbing gym for physical exercise. Is this effective in a similar way to the RR? If so, how can I optimize my experience for building strength/physique? I've heard it's a terrible idea to use weighted vests when climbing because it increases injury likelihood. Thanks and cheers y'all!
I have rock climbed for 15 years now and was really excited when I learned that it was added to the Olympics. I never understood why it wasnβt in the Olympics to begin with as itβs such a basic activity. Running, swimming, climbing, and wrestling/fighting are the most basic of any sports and what most other sports are based on. They seem like the most important and fitting sports to have in the Olympics. So when when rock climbing was added I was very happy.
Unfortunately the Olympics did a terrible job with how they organized the rock climbing event. For some reason they combined Sport Climbing, Bouldering, and Speed Climbing into one event instead of making them three separate events like they should be. It would be like if swimming just had one medal instead of different medals for all the different strokes.
Combining Sport Climbing and Bouldering is bad enough, but adding in Speed Climbing too is so much worse. Most climbers split their time pretty evenly between Sport Climbing and Bouldering, but very few climbers ever focus on Speed Climbing as itβs boring. So forcing a climber to do Speed Climbing in a competition when theyβve never done it before doesnβt reflect the true ability of the climber
Does anyone know which trails on either the KS or Mo side of KC have rock formations that one can climb for someone like me who enjoys being outdoors but doesn't want to waste money at an indoor climbing gym? It doesn't have to be huge rocks just something a beginner can do with little harm.
I donβt have many friends here that have some of these interests and have no clue where to start.
I still like camping, running and kickball too, I just wanted to change it up a bit.
I travel for work every now and then so while subscriptions based activities are not preferred, anything works.
Meet up seems a bit dead in the city from what Iβve seen and I am curious what others have used that arenβt the typical βkc crewβ and meetup.com answers.
Hi, I was wondering how to saw "rock climbing" as in the sport in Farsi. Also if there are any Farsi speaking climbers out there that could share some of the terms/slang you use that would be awesome.
Hello all,
I am an American student (M) studying in Spain for the next three months, and though I am still getting settled, I was hoping to see if there were any climbing groups (or just climbers) that actively did outdoor routes (or indoor as the weather is relatively cold). I would love to get some sport climbing or top rope in.
I have been climbing for a couple years sporadically, and would climb in what I think is the 4c to 5c range (5.7-5.9, with some 5.10 for USA). I have shoes, harness, and an ATC, but nothing else.
If climbing outside, I can't help with much of the supplies, but I can help move the gear and contribute in other ways. I am can do limited anchor building (mostly with static ropes and bo-line knots) and can lead belay. I have climbed hard routes outdoors, but they are few and far between.
If indoors, then I should have no problem at all belaying and climbing.
If anyone is interested, please DM me and maybe we can work something out, even if for a day.
Thanks!
This may sound a little out there, but I have a five year old autistic daughter who loves climbing and is extremely strong. She gaves wrestle to her uncle who is a powerlifter and he even commented on how freakishly strong she is.
So is there anywhere you know of that I could take her. Another problem she is absolutely tiny, so I fear nowhere will let her participate due to health/safety/insurance issues. It would be great for regulating her though.
Any advice appreciated.
