This scripted podcast is absolutely amazing. Everything from the sound design to the voice acting from everyone including Maya Hawke is absolutely immaculate. If you haven’t checked it out you definitely should. 10/10

Despite having its ups and downs I think so far the Raid has actually been really enjoyable to read through and it has not been so straight forward but now that we are on Luffy vs Kaido and the fights are all basically done. I’m curious to ask what has been your favourite so far? Mine is Sanji vs Queen, it’s been to long since a solid Sanji fight.

Wano has equal if not more stakes than every previous arc imo. I’ll break down how. Let’s start with arc calamities.

Every arc has 1 specific calamity. Wano has many. These calamities add stakes to an arc. We have:

-The floating island landing on the flower capital similar to the Noah in fishman island

-The floating island closing in on the flower capital similar to the bird cage in dressrosa

-Kanjuros fire demon similar to Smiley from punk hazard

-The gunpowder in the armoury at risk of blowing up similar to the bomb during alabasta

-The world government fleet below wano similar to the buster call in enies lobby/Cp0 after robin similar to Cp9 in Enies lobby

Now let’s look at the events of the war that add stakes:

Chapter 990-Jack defeats the army of sulong minks

Chapter 993- Ice oni virus infects a lot of samurai

Chapter 993- Shinobu is taken down from sasakis armoured corps protecting momonosuke

Chapter 993- Kikus arm is ripped off by kaido

Chapter 994- Boss Omasa is infected+ true threat of oni virus revealed

Chapter 995- Chopper is infected by the oni virus

Chapter 995-Usopp and Nami are almost taken out by ulti and page 1. Both are in terrible shape

Chapter 996-Usopp Nami and tama run away from ulti and page 1 while hihimaru holds them off

Chapter 996-We get a glimpse of the scabbards being taken down by kaido

Chapter 997-Sanji is captured

Chapter 997-Calamity of moving onigashima to the flower capital is introduced

Chapter 999-Both Kaido and Big Mom are waiting on the rooftop. Scabbards are no where in sight

Chapter 1000- 9 scabbards are all taken out

Chapter 1000- 5 members of the worst generation are fighting 2 emperors

Chapter 1003-Luffy is out of the battle for 10 minutes in this 5v2

1003-Cp0 are revealed to be on the island

1003-Revealed that the war section of this arc is 27,000 vs 5000 (300 samurai are taken out)

1004- Red scabbards location is discovered by the enemy

1006- Carrot and Wanda are defeated by perospero

1006- Hyogoro is also infected by the ice oni virus and on his last legs. Choppers also in a worse state thanks to the virus and desperately coming up with a cure

1008- Ashura is taken out by kanjuro by sacrificing himself for the other scabbards. Is stabbed,cut + blown up.

1008- Both kanjuro and orochi are alive. Kanjuro is after momonosuke + orochi is burning the castle

1009- Zoro has every bone in his body broken and is in terrible shape

1009- Luffy is literally knocked out

So there has been some speculation that much like how Will was the main target of the Mind Fleyer in season 2, and Eleven being the target in season 3, Nancy Wheeler may be the main target of the newest supernatural threat in Hawkins.

But why though? Well, we all know that Nancy likes to snoop and investigate into things, so maybe something might happen in the first 1 or 2 episodes that will cause her to lead the investigation inside the Creel house. Because she is the main one investigating it would make her the primary target.

What kinda has me scared for her is that in various interviews the cast keep on mentioning that this particular storyline will be really messed up so I'm kinda worried about her.

Although this chapter didn't resolve that much, it is probably one of my favorite chapters of the year. I'm happy we got an explanation for how Apoo's powers work, even though it was pretty obvious. Also, am I missing something, or why did Yamato call Apoo an informant? Here's the list:

So these are my bounty predictions and I will give some reason as to why I believe this.

"Straw Hat" Luffy: 4 Billion Berries

• Luffy will most likely beat Kaido. Kaido who is the strongest man in the world who has a bounty of 4.611 billion bounties. But he did get help from the 9 red scabbards, Supernova, and Yamato.
• I don't see him getting higher than a 4 billion bounty because I think Oda will make Luffy's bounty just a little less than shanks who has a bounty of 4.048 billion.

"King of Hell" Zoro: 1.7 Billion Berries

• Zoro scared Kaido and cut him multiple times
• Has Advanced COC
• Beat King with a bounty of 1.39 Billion Berries
• He might do more battle this arc but seems like he is done
• This might be a stretch but Zoro almost always surpasses Luffy's former bounty other than at Dressrosa.
  • Zoro's first bounty, 60 million berries, greater than Luffy's first bounty of 30 million berries
  • Zoro second bounty, 120 million berries, Greater than Luffy's second bounty of 100 million berries
  • Zoro third Bounty, 320 Million berries, greater than luffy's third bounty of 300
  • But since Luffy go a fourth, fifth, and sixth Bounty, I predict Zoro will surpass Luffy's sixth bounty of 1.5 billion berries by 200 million

"Cat Burglar" Nami: 416 Million berries

• Nami now has Zeus who is a powerhouse
• Nami kind of beat Ulti who has a bounty of 400 million berries
• All of Nami's bounties had the 6 in it so I think that Oda will also include the number 6 in her bounty
  • Nami's first bounty of 16 million berries
  • Nami's second bounty of 66 million berries

"God" Usopp: 450 Million berries

• Usopp hasn't done anything significant in the raid but I predict he will he will do something massive before this arc end.
• Usopp's bounty is usually high balled so it might be even greater than 450 million berries

"Black Leg" Sanji: 1.66 billion

• Sanji beat Queen who has a bounty of 1.32 billion
• Sanji also got a power up with his Germa upgrades and Ifrit Jambe
• Sanji might even do more by the end of the arc which is unlikely but plausible.

I mean, I understand Murray since he'll be with Joyce most of the season. What I mean to say is, what do you think will she be doing in the beginning few episodes? Also, Dustin and Lucas did give her their DND set at the end of s3, so I'm gonna guess that probably has something to do with her sub-plot.

Phew, man... this season REALLY does have a lot of deliver, regarding different storylines and characters.

What a rundown this week, for real! Lots of moving pieces, in my opinion the most impressive being... Prometheus getting into the top 50! Indeed, he kicked out Zeus, much like in the story, and now claims an impressive 47th spot! Izo climbs two spots, leaving behind Yasuie and Drake, Chopper surpasses Denjiro and Big Mom comes one spot short of Queen! The real queen is about to claim her spot in the top 10! Yamato also overcomes Tama and gets 13th place, and the funniest update in my opinion, Raizo surpasses Robin! Damn, for what he lacks in game he makes up in panel time.

This is just a theory. There's a pretty good chance that most of this ends up not being right.

Ok, so I was going over some leaks and set photos, and basically I've started to realize that clocks might be more important this season than we think.

Creel House Clock

So first of all, it's pretty obvious that the clock in the Creel House has something to do with the Creel murders and whatever is happening in the current Hawkins timeline. This clock seems to be directly tied to the upside down and maybe even Vecna. It also seems that this isn't the only clock in the Creel House, with there being one downstairs in the teaser.

Next, it seems that there will be some sort of upside down activity at the library this season. This is where Nancy and Robin will go to research about Victor Creel, but on their way out they run into this mist that seems to be a sign that Vecna is nearby. Now, this is when I realized that the library does also have a big clock on top of it, so is it possible that Vecna could be using more than one clock to get into our world? Later on in the season there is also destruction in downtown Hawkins with Army troops around. Are they investigating some sort of upside down threat there?

Next we have this clock in the lab, where something also possibly upside down related happens. According to leaks, Peter causes the Hawkins Lab Massacre, which could possibly be caused by him being possessed by Vecna, just like Victor Creel.

Ever since 2018 it’s been a tradition of mine to rank my favourite One Piece chapters of the year. And this year shall be no different! Unfortunately, the world still hasn’t been cured of the curse called Covid in 2021. But this sure didn’t stop Eiichiro Oda from delivering some of the best content the series has ever seen!

As always, I’ve only considered chapters that were officially released in 2021 for this ranking. This means chapter 1000 up until chapter 1035. Also, pretty obvious but this list is purely subjective and should by no means be taken too seriously. For anybody who’s interested in my past rankings, I will be linking them at the end of this post.

With all that being said, I hope you get a fun read out of this and I’m looking forward to reading your opinions and rankings!

Top 5 Favourite One Piece chapters 2021

Honorable Mentions

All of Roof Piece: The roof of Onigashima seems to be magical place. No matter who’s up there, everything they do turns into a spectacle. Whether it be the Worst Generation fighting two Yonkou’s, Yamato fighting his father or the boy who popped out of a barrel 1000 chapters ago splitting the sky.

Chapter 1017&1018: Despite Jinbei vs. Who’s Who being disappointing for some, I enjoyed it a lot. The fact that Who’s Who was a rogue CP9 agent came out of nowhere for me, then we got a hint towards the Gomu Gomu no Mi’s greater importance as well as the “Sun God Nika” name drop. Having so much lore accompany a fight always elevates my experience a lot.

Chapter 1022 “The Stars Take the Stage”: I’ve gotta mention this one simply because of that ending. There’s almost nothing more hype than the former first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates introducing the wings of the future pirate king to their fights against the top two commanders of the strongest being alive.

Chapter 1029 “The Tower”: Killer vs. Hawkins came as another pleasant surprise. I’ve grown to love Killer throughout the Wano arc, especially his relationship with Kid. This fight had a lot of emotional stakes and its finale, including 3 back to back double spreads as well as a chill-inducing narration, was perfect.

Every chapter focusing on the Sanji or Zoro fights: Yeah this one’s a little too general but I’ve genuinely enjoyed both their fights so much that I don’t wanna exclude any of it at all. She is my favorite character of this series and while S2, S3 didn't do anything to build up her relationships apart from Jonathan, S4 will be a game changer for Nancy.

•I think Her and Robin will become the 'duo' of this season (Like Steve x Dustin in S2).

•She can befriend Dustin, it's funny that she said he was her favorite kid out of Mike's group in S2, but never interacted with him since.

•Her and Steve can finally get closure, I think there would be a sense of awkwardness when they first meet, but eventually they will get over it and who don't want to see Nancy with her shotgun and Steve with his nailbat protecting their group from Demogorgans?

•As max will be probably suffering from depression after Billy's death, Nancy can console her too, cause she had also lost Barb in S1.

•Finally having a chance to have a heart to heart conversation b/w her and Mike, they can finally share their trauma with each other in the absence of El and Jonathan

And all those rumours about Nancy being the main target of Hawkins group this season is just Cherry on the top of all of this.

Pretty much this is the same old ‘what worlds you want’ but I’m putting some constraints on the choices by doing the KH3 route.

Pretty much you can pick: 2 returning worlds, 2 Pixar worlds, 2 new Disney worlds, a wild card world and a mini game world (can be of any criteria).

Here’s my picks:

Pixar 1: The Incredibles. Either film could fit really well and Big Hero 6 did well enough but could’ve benefited from being a bigger city. World partner would be Mr Incredible and Elastigirl.

Pixar 2: Brave. I think Merida is one of the new princesses so this world has to appear. Also imagine Yoko doing Scottish themed music. World partner could be Merida and Elenor bear form.

New Disney 1: Moana. I want this world so much and I think Moana is one of the princesses as well. The only problem though is how few set pieces are in the film since the majority of the film is on the ocean. World partner could be Moana and Maui.

New Disney 2: Princess and the Frog. Would look so cool to see New Orleans and the bayou translated into 3D. Also Tiana has to be the third unknown princess. World partner could be Louis (Tiana and Nareen aren’t fighters to be honest).

Returning World 1: Frozen. The sequel could translate much better than the first world, though it depends how protective Disney gets. World partner could be Anna and Elsa since they do fight this time.

Returning World 2: Wreck it Ralph. I’m counting it’s appearance in chi. It could help connect the next game with the chi era by revealing those events to the crew. World partner could be Ralph.

Wild Card: Treasure Planet or Atlantis. Either world would be cool and if Atlantis was picked they could throw us for a loop by making Kida one of the princesses. World partner could be Jim Hawkins or Kida.

Mini Game: Inside Out. I’d want this as a full world but if I had to pick anything besides Pooh Inside Out would work since anything can happen in the mind.

Honorable mentions: Jungle Book, Star Wars original trilogy, Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Black Cauldron, Pocahontas, Zootopia. Any of these could replace my Wild Card. Star Wars is one I have a hard time picking where the story would take place since you have to have a partner who can fight and the best I can figure is set it between films since Luke is training during 5-6 but Han is frozen in carbonite and I’d want him as a second fighter so I’m stuck where to go.

Entonces, me acerqué al random con la consulta de que si había en alguna parte una lista con todos los libros que la iniciativa "viva leer" de Copec haya publicado. No lo había.

Hice la lista, pero ya que me tardé igual rato en hacerla, la públicaré por aquí para que valga la pena haberlo hecho. No despegará por aquí, pero al menos se podrá linkear en el internet por si hay alguien más interesado en la lista (como lo estuve yo).

Algunas observaciones previas que surgieron mediante lo hacía:

• La iniciativa "viva leer" en realidad fueron dos.
• Una por los años "2012-2016" en que mayoritariamente estaba encargada por ediciones Origo, la que tiene el nombre de "sueña leyendo".
• Otra en "2017- ahora" en que ya no hay sólo una editorial a cargo y hay varias, con sólo el nombre de "viva leer".
• Esto tal vez sea opinión personal, pero siento que las primeras versiones, las "sueña leyendo" se notaban que fueron creadas en chile (aunque impresas en China). Las nuevas me dan la impresión de que son reediciones del extranjero aquí, no sé que tan cierto sea eso, requiere investigar.
• Las primeras eran más baratas, no sé si es la inflación o otros costos (o menos subsidio) pero en la de 2014, los infantiles costaban 1200 y los contemporáneos costaban 2500. En la de ahora, los infantiles comienzan en 3000 y los contemporáneos en 5000.
• En las primeras, los clásicos eran ilustrados, ese tampoco es el caso ahora.
• Me imagino que ahora con la lista podrán ver tendencias, aunque es notable que este año se hayan reeditado varias que ya habían aparecido.
• En diferentes años, publicaron la trilogia de las distopías (1984, Un mundo feliz y Farenheit 851)

Anoté los artistas de las ilustraciones cuando era posible, pero en otras no tenía información, si me avisan, puedo añadirla.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

So, now that my Christmas plans have pretty much been cancelled, I’ve got a lot more time on my hands. Podcasts are my main source of entertainment but I’m low on recommendations, so I thought we could do a ‘what I’ve been listening to’ exchange to find new shows or even revisit old ones we may have forgotten about.

I mostly listen to horror/thriller/psychological drama but am open to try anything new.

Underwood and Flinch by Mike Bennett – A Horror Vampire podcast. “For hundreds of years, the eldest male Flinch has been servant and guardian to the vampire, Lord Underwood. While the Flinches have changed through the generations, Underwood has remained eternal. I absolutely love this podcast. So much so that it’s the only Patreon I’ve signed up for. Its spooky, fun, quick paced and the acting is superb. Mike Bennett is an incredible author and voice actor. A real delight. Underwood and Flinch

Uncanny - “From ghostly phantoms to UFOs, The Battersea Poltergeist's Danny Robins investigates real-life stories of paranormal encounters.” I really enjoyed this – It’s a bit of a spin on the true story genre. If you liked Haunted and The Battersea Poltergeist, you’ll like this. Uncanny

13 Days of Halloween – Season 1 & 2 – very enjoyable set of tales. A typical Grim and Mild podcast. 13 Days of Halloween

Silverwood – Sci-fi Horror. “Deep in the serene forest of Silverwood, California, a monster from another dimension is desperate for the human blood it needs to return home. What begins as a relaxing week in the woods for two groups of campers—employees on a corporate retreat and a Cub Scout troop—turns into a hellish ordeal when a mysterious dark force lurking among the trees preys on their most violent impulses.”

This was a trip! Gory, fast paced, fun and very well produced. Really entertaining. Silverwood

Yet another rundown similiar to the previous week, as with Sanji and Queen only getting a few panels, it's Zoro and King's turn to shine! Queen only gets 2, just 1 panel away from a great advance, guess he really did fail. But the stars are definitely Zoro and King here, where Zoro got an impressive 42 panels, inching closer and closer to the big 1000 mark! King gets 46 panels, jumping up 4 spots and surpassing even Eustass Kid, sending him to 30th place! Sure glad he's done though. Wait... he now has only one wing? He has white hair? So, now that my Christmas plans have pretty much been cancelled, I’ve got a lot more time on my hands. Podcasts are my main source of entertainment but I’m low on recommendations, so I thought we could do a ‘what I’ve been listening to’ exchange to find new shows or even re-visit old ones we may have forgotten about.

So, if you’re up for it, let me know what you’ve been listening to lately.

I mostly listen to horror/thriller/psychological drama but am open to try anything new.

Underwood and Flinch by Mike Bennett – A Horror Vampire podcast. “For hundreds of years, the eldest male Flinch has been servant and guardian to the vampire, Lord Underwood. I absolutely love this podcast. So much so that it’s the only Patreon I’ve signed up for. Its spooky, fun, quick paced and the acting is superb. Mike Bennett is an incredible author and voice actor. A real delight. Underwood and Flinch

Uncanny - “From ghostly phantoms to UFOs, The Battersea Poltergeist's Danny Robins investigates real-life stories of paranormal encounters.” I really enjoyed this – It’s a bit of a spin on the true story genre. If you liked Haunted and The Battersea Poltergeist, you’ll like this. Uncanny

13 Days of Halloween – Season 1 & 2 – very enjoyable set of tales. A typical Grim and Mild podcast. 13 Days of Halloween

Silverwood – Sci-fi Horror. “Deep in the serene forest of Silverwood, California, a monster from another dimension is desperate for the human blood it needs to return home. What begins as a relaxing week in the woods for two groups of campers—employees on a corporate retreat and a Cub Scout troop—turns into a hellish ordeal when a mysterious dark force lurking among the trees preys on their most violent impulses.”

This was a trip! Gory, fast paced, fun and very well produced. Really entertaining. Silverwood
