A list of puns related to "Robert Whitehead"
I've been enjoying reading Classic Short Horror stories and as I come across those that have left a lasting impression will mention them here. I place these two short stories into the category of classic body horror. Both stories deal with a growth or wen on the body of the main protagonist. In the case of the story Cassius the trouble begins when the growth, which may have some connection with Voodoo in the West Indies, is removed from the innocent victim. In The Mannikin, there is a much darker origin with the protagonist having generational connections to the dark arts. In both cases the protagonist's life is in danger from how this "growth" manifests. Cassius ends on a more positive note while things do not end well for the protagonist in The Mannikin.
Henry S. Whitehead was a friend and correspondent of H. P. Lovecraft. The short story Cassius appeared in the 1931 Strange Tales.
"It is quite possible that if Dr. Pelletier had not been going to Porto Rico of Thursday of that week, this narrative, the record of one of the most curious experiences I have ever had, would never have been set down. If Pelletier, his mind set on sailing at eleven, had not merely walked out of his operating room as soon as he had finished with Brutus a little after eight that Thursday morning, left the dressing of the slight wound upon Brutus' groin to be performed by his assistants, then that incredible affair which I can only describe as the persecution of the unfortunate Brutus Hellman would never have taken place."
Robert Bloch, author of Psycho, wrote a fan letter to H. P. Lovecraft at the age of 16. Lovecraft encouraged the young boy to begin writing fiction and to submit his stories to Weird Tales. Thus began a 60-year writing career that is one of the most distinguished in the horror and mystery field. The Mannikin was written in 1937.
"I first met Simon Maglore during my second term as an instructor back at college. Even then, he had impressed me greatly. This was not due to his physical characteristics alone, though they were unusual enough. He was tall and thin, with massive, stooping shoulders, and a crooked back. He was not a hunch-back in the usual sense of the word, but was inflicted with a peculiar tumorous growth beneath his left shoulder-blade. This growth he took some pains to conceal, but its prominence made such attempts unsuccessful."
One of the biggest conversations when the Pro Bowl rosters are revealed are who the biggest snubs are, and who should've been removed from the list instead. So I thought I'd make a comprehensive list of the biggest snub for each position in each conference within the NFL. If I think the Pro Bowl selections were perfect, than I'll skip that position/conference, maybe throw out an HM if someone deserves it.
QB - Obviously to everyone except NFL coaches/media, Lamar Jackson shouldn't have been the selection here. The real question is which of Joe Burrow or Josh Allen should take his place. On one hand, Allen leads the more successful offense and looking at Football Outsiders' DVOA (who I should mention would've selected Carr based off just their stats), Allen has performed better given his opponents and the situations in which he's passing. And that's not even mentioning his premier rushing ability. However, Burrow has been better in standard passing metrics, while also being better in PFF's grading system both by pure grade, and having a higher rate of big time throws, and a lower rate of turnover worthy throws. All of this while having a noticeably worse offensive line than Allen (and similarly talented weapons between the two). I'll give Joe Burrow the edge, but could easily give it to Josh Allen as well.
RB - Another obvious one here, Austin Ekeler deserved to be in the Pro Bowl after 16 TDs and being the best receiving back in the league (after Cordarrelle Patterson, but that's a little unfair of a comparison). What I've been surprised at however, is the consensus at which Nick Chubb should be the one dropped from the roster, seemingly primarily due to his missing 3 games and having half as many TDs as Joe Mixon. I would say however, with Chubb averaging almost 10 more yards from scrimmage per game, more than 1.3 yards extra per carry (almost 1.0 more yards after contact), and being far ahead of Mixon via DVOA (9th vs 29th in rushing DVOA), Joe Mixon should be the one off the roster. While he does have the worse OL, according to PFF, the team's run blocking is fairly average, which isn't so much lower than Chubb's top 5 run blocking unit that it makes up for Mixon's statistical deficiencies, not to mention his ability to run in a much better passing offense.
WR - Everything looks good here, honorable mention to Tee Higgins who is arguably the best WR2 in the league, and arguably the next best WR in the conferenc

Included last words because I find them interesting, but keep in mind that last words, especially those before the modern era, are famously bullshit, so take most of this with a lot of salt.

... keep reading on reddit ➡I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

... keep reading on reddit ➡A few months ago, a dive into Grant Hill's Wikipedia page got me wondering. How many active teammates did he have? Curiosity piqued, I went from there and scanned over all NBA Hall of Famers and compiled their active teammates. And then did it with baseball. The NFL, with their much larger rosters, was a bit frightening, but here it is at last! First, a few ground rules.
A. Each player must have either played this year, or be on the injured reserve. No free agents, so players like Larry Fitzgerald were disqualified from this exercise.
B. Practice Squad DOES count. Tahir Whitehead played with Calvin and he's on a practice squad this year, I counted him. On the flip side, TO only played on the Seahawks practice squad in 2012, but I still counted the Hawks teammates.
C. Finally- I'm anything but perfect! I skimmed over all these rosters over a few hours, and I'm sure I missed a few here or there. Only caught Broncos Brett Kern, Steelers Brian Hoyer and Falcons Dustin Colquitt at the last moment. If you see where I erred, don't be afraid to correct me- I also used the rosters on Wikipedia, because Football Reference is murderously slow, so that might not capture the full season. Anyway, the players!

Hi everybody! So I gave myself a reading challenge based off the 50 states: For each state I'll be reading a work by an author born in said state, a poet (all native Americans poets. Hello there!
This year, I'm doing a themed bingo square with trans or nonbinary characters in every book. As such, I've spent a lot of time (too much time) compiling books that fit for each square. I had originally intended to post this list after finishing my board with a write-up, but seeing as we are past halfway through the bingo year and I'm on track to finish pretty late, I’ve decided to put this up early so it can hopefully actually be helpful for people still looking to fill their boards.
Books are listed under each category they fit, but I didn’t always check for some of the harder ones (eg. first person, forest setting) if they fit something obvious (eg. published in 2021, cat squasher). Books are sourced from the recommendations thread, the focus thread, the queersff database, readsrainbow, various Goodreads lists, and various threads in other subreddits. Also, disclaimer, I haven't read all these, so categorizations may be inaccurate. Please let me know if you notice that this is the case, or if there are any books I should add or remove!
Without further ado, here's my list of 250+ books that qualify for the trans/NB character square plus at least one other square:
Five Short Stories
Behind the Sun, Above the Moon edited by Brooklyn Ray
Diana Comet and Other Improbable Stories by Sandra McDonald
Everyone on the Moon is Essential Personnel by Julian K Jarboe
Glitter + Ashes: Queer Tales of a World That Wouldn’t Die edited by Dave Ring
Homesick: Stories by Nino Cipri
Love After the End: An Anthology of Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction edited by Joshua Whitehead
Love: Beyond Body, Space, and Time edited by Hope Nicholson
Maiden, Mother, and Crone: Fantastical Trans Femmes edited by Gwen Benaway
Meanwhile, Elsewhere edited by Cat Fitzpatrick and Casey Plett
No Man of Woman Born by Ana Mardoll
Portland Diary: Short Stories 2016/2017 by Jamie Berrout
The Other Side: An Anthology of Queer Paranormal Romance edited by Melanie Gillman and Kori Michele Handwerker

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
