Thanks to my obsession with trivial minutiae I’ve been keeping track of post-rock songs that use either Oppenheimer’s “I am become death” quote from the Bhagavad Gita or Sagan reading from his “pale blue dot” passage as samples. So far the score is Oppenheimer 7, Sagan 5.

Now I have two questions for y’all. First, are there any other songs you know of to add to these lists? Can Sagan catch up? Can Oppenheimer extend his lead?
Second, my impression is that these are the two most commonly used samples in the post-rock genre, but are there others that might stack up? I know the “Columbia, Houston, UHF Comm Check” sample has been used more than once, but I only know of The Evpatoria Report’s Taijin Kyofusho (god what a song) off the top of my head. Can this sample, or any others, step up and contend?

Bob Dole, an Honorable Republican Candidate, Dies at 98 - R.I.P. Senator Dole
Bob Dole, a Republican Party stalwart and presidential hopeful who espoused a brand of plain-spoken conservativism as one of Washington's most recognizable political figures throughout the latter half of the 20th century, died Sunday.
"Senator Robert Joseph Dole died early this morning in his sleep. At his death, at age 98, he had served the United States of America faithfully for 79 years," according to a statement from his family. He had announced in February that he was being treated for advanced lung cancer. President Joe Biden visited Dole shortly after learning of the diagnosis.
Biden on Sunday released a statement mourning Dole."Bob was an American statesman like few in our history. A war hero and among the greatest of the Greatest Generation. And to me, he was also a friend whom I could look to for trusted guidance or a humorous line at just the right moment to settle frayed nerves," Biden said. "I will miss my friend. But I am grateful for the times we shared, and for the friendship Jill and I and our family have built with Liddy and the entire Dole family."

I also want to state, that these guests have not been researching GME for 8+ months, are extremely busy and do not have time to read our DD. This is beneficial as we can get an unfiltered and unbiased view of their thoughts on x, y, z matters. The main point of these AMAs is to take what insights we can from their experience and apply it to the research within our sub and many other GME subs to benefit from (and of course, enjoy listening to some wise people talk about our fav subject).
