You should make a video on Robert Hansen. He was originally from my hometown in Iowa and then moved to Alaska. There was a movie made about him called "The Frozen Ground"
Authorities found a map in Robert Hansen's home marked with tiny "X" symbols, showing where the Butcher Baker killed and buried his victims.
In the 1924 short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” author Richard Connell recounts the tale of a wealthy Russian aristocrat who, bored with trapping animals, lures a big-game hunter to his island and hunts him for sport.
Ever since the story was published, the perverse idea of humans hunting humans has captivated people. The disturbing concept has appeared time and again in the plots of novels, TV shows, and movies, but for the most part, it has been relegated to the pages of fiction.
However, in the 1970s, Robert Hansen, known as the “Butcher Baker,” turned this premise into a horrifying, decade-long reality. Though Hansen maintained a wholesome reputation in town, he let his hidden dark side run wild in the woods of Alaska.
Throughout the ’70s and early ’80s, Hansen targeted sex workers and exotic dancers, abducting these women to turn them loose in the woods so he could hunt them like animals. This is the terrifying true story of the Butcher Baker serial killer.
Unlike his fictional counterpart, Robert Hansen was no aristocratic nobleman. Born on February 15, 1939, in Estherville, Iowa, his father was a Danish immigrant who owned a bakery. He was also a strict disciplinarian.
Hansen’s childhood was not an easy one. He worked long hours in the family bakery from a young age. Though he was naturally left-handed, he was forced to use his right hand instead, a switch that resulted in a lifelong stutter.
As a teenager he was painfully shy, had bad acne, and was mocked for his stutter. The boys at school made fun of him, and the girls he liked rejected him. He was often described as a loner.
As a social outcast, he took refuge in time spent alone. Over time, he became an avid game hunter, channeling his rage and fantasies of vengeance into the sport of stalking animals.
In 1957, when he was 18 years old, Hansen joined the United States Army Reserve, hoping to leave behind his troubled youth and make something of himself.
Between 1980 and 1983, the Anchorage State Troopers had 12 women who’d been reported missing in the Anchorage area (EDIT: edited for spelling error), many of them dancers and sex workers known to frequent and work on 4th avenue. On September 2nd 1983, Alaska State troopers got a call and their first big break in the case. The body of 17-yr old Paula Goulding was found near the Knik River. The term “knik” is derived from the Iñupiat word which means “fire”. On the banks of this river they would make another discovery. Another woman, Sherry Morrow, was found. Both women were next to empty .223 shell casings and it was confirmed by investigators that they had come from the same hunting rifle. Alaska state troopers were now sure they had a serial killer on their hands. What troopers quickly realized was that one of his victims had already escaped, but they’d overlooked her courageous act.
In the early morning of June 13th 1983, (months before the other bodies were found) Cindy Paulson appeared on the side of the road. She was hysterical, half-clothed, and had an unbelievable story of survival to tell. Cindy Paulson was just 17 years old when she moved to Anchorage Alaska. Like many women she had come from a dysfunctional home life and was looking to support herself though sex work. June 12th 1983 was just another day, and when the “John”, Robert Hansen, picked her up off of 4th and Denali, offering $200 for a blow job, it seemed like work as usual. Paulson agreed and got in.
Below is a portion of Cindy’s statement given to the police after she survived her attacher:
"And um, after I had got (inaudible), I kept doing it, and then he kept feeling around my neck, like he was just trippin’, playing around with my neck and my necklaces. And he had cuffed one of my hands, and I was trying to get loose and he pulled out a gun. Then he had got my other hand cuffed, I don’t know how he did it, it was just frightening, ‘cause I didn’t really… I fought, but not a lot, ‘cause I knew he would do something.”
Once Hansen got Paulson back to his house he confined her with chains which he wrapped 5 times around her neck, and he told her that if she cooperated with him, she would not be hurt. Hansen raped and tortured Cindy throughout the evening. In the morning, he said, again in Cindy’s words:
*"He told me that since he liked me so good, that he would take me to his cabin, and make love to me one time and bring me back. And he said that he had a plane over at Merrill A

This unidentified young “Jane Doe”, also known as “Eklutna Annie”, is a known victim of serial killer Robert Hansen. Hansen murdered 17-21 women around Anchorage, Alaska, between 1971 and 1983. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) recently updated her facial reconstruction image in hopes that someone will recognize her. We are also hopeful that she will be identified using Genetic Genealogy. Alaska’s Missing Persons Clearinghouse has more than twelve hundred people listed. If you recognize “Jane Doe” or have information about anyone listed on the Alaska Missing Persons Clearinghouse webpage, please call (800) 478-9333 or (907) 269-5038.

I have been reading the Wikipedia page on Hansen, and in the section "Imprisonment", the following is written:
> " He showed investigators 17 grave sites, in and around Southcentral Alaska, 12 of which were unknown to investigators. There remained marks on his map that he refused to give up, including three in Resurrection Bay, near Seward (authorities suspect two of these marks belong to the graves of Mary Thill and Megan Emrick, whom Hansen has denied killing)."
If he helped locate 17 grave sites, why not show a handful more? What could have been his motivation to refuse to help locate these?
Thank you!
