We've got Drakkon and the Ranger Slayer, Psycho Green, the 1969 Rangers, the Solar Rangers and the Omega Rangers, and now we're getting a new Dairanger team. And that's awesome. I love comics-only Rangers.
But the main story has been set "in between episodes" pretty much from day one. So we always know how it's going to end. The Rangers will be victorious against the Empyreals, and sometime after that battle, we'll have a time skip. Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa will marry, Rito Revolto will show up with the Tenga Warriors, the Rangers will need a powerup, and they'll seek out Ninjor.
And then the next arc will start.
Well, what if Boom! diverged from established canon? What if instead of being "dinosaur Rangers with animal Zords", Ninjor changed their suits, too? Keep the Alien Rangers as the Kakuranger adaptations, but instead, we start with the Ninja Rangers from day one, instead of picking up six months down the line after they've already had a bunch of adventures.
Give them a costume redesign, something like the below pic, where it pays homage to the Mighty Morphin costumes, but reflects their new powerup, and then we see them right from the beginning, fighting Rito and the Tenga, meeting Ninjor, but it diverges enough from the TV show that everything isn't such a foregone conclusion.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see the Rangers I grew up with, through fresh eyes. And seeing them fight what amount to "side stories" for the past (nearly) 6 years is starting to tire me out.

Started with Zeo Blue back in April 2020! I only watched until the team switch in Turbo as a kid, so those are the teams that I have the biggest nostalgia for, so that's where I'm going.

It's been such a joy getting much more realistic figures than in the 90s. The movie was the first film I ever saw as a kid, period. I appreciate them so much, flaws and all!

Welp might as well pitch this idea have had in my head for awhile.
Now as the title suggests it’s going to be a cinematic universe based around cartoons from the 1980’s these cartoons being GI.JOE,TMNT,Ghostbusters,Power Rangers,and finally Silverhawks. It’s going to be structured like the mcu with 3 chapters each with it’s own purpose the first chapter well focus on introducing the audience to this universe the second chapter will focus on expanding the verse introducing key plot points and the final chapter will tie up the lose ends providing a satisfying conclusion to the plot points set up in chapter 2 the line up goes as follows.
Chapter 1: Dawn of heroes
GI.JOE this movie will ground the verse in the real world and introduce some major players in the following chapters by hinting at a larger world. A warlord in Africa is the main villain.
TMNT this would be the first pieces of the supernatural within this world it will allude to something elsewhere. Main villain(s) are the dragon gang along with 2 freelancers named Bebop and Rocksteady which would later be muted to their iconic forms.
GI.JOE vs TMNT this movie services the purpose of confirming this is a wider universe and there is more then meets the eye here. The main villain is the Shredder.
Power Rangers this would be the final movie in chapter 1 follows the mighty morphing version and focus on introducing a wider universe beyond earth and of the sweet lore. Main villain is Rito Revolto. Post credit scene featuring Zordon talking to Alpha-5 about the world Aquitar reported destruction.
Any questions post them in the comments I’ll answer them to the best of my abilities without spoiling stuff.
At the start in the past the rangers are pursuing some monsters led by Goldar (who is much closer to his show counterpart) but it's revealed they're collaborating with Rita who then betrays the other rangers. When Zordon summons the meteorite the monsters barely escape into their ship but the meteorite damages it, putting it and its crew into stasis.
Replace the Krispy Cream with Ernie's Juice Bar where Bulk and Skull work, the duo try to come off as tough and intimidating but are secretly quite friendly and compassionate. Make the zords and the megazord closer to their show counterparts rather than transformers.
When Rita is awakened instead of her searching for gold she's given one or two scenes where she learns human history and English. She then reactivates the ship but it will take a few days for the monsters to awaken. Meanwhile she spends her time practicing sorcery.
For the climax after fighting the putties in hand to hand combat, Rita sends in five monsters based on ones from the show to fight the rangers and they summon their weapons to defeat them. Goldar then arrives, disarms the rangers but they use their blasters to fire on a nearby rock formation, causing a landslide that traps Goldar, giving them enough time to retrieve their weapons and form the power blaster, firing it upon him, badly injuring him and causing him to retreat. Rita uses her magic to heal Goldar and turn him into a giant. We see the Megazord forming in all its glory and I would save the power rangers theme for the Megazord vs Goldar fight, so just when all hope is lost, that epic riff starts playing as the zords start to combine. When the Megazord defeats Goldar, Rita initially refuses to surrender but an injured Goldar convinces her to change her mind so they retreat to their ship with Rita vowing revenge. We get a mid-credits scene with the ship landing on the moon.
So if the film was successful enough to get some sequels here are my ideas:
Power Rangers 2: Green With Evil/Rise of the Green Ranger
So the film takes place a few months later. We see Tommy's tough upbringing and problems (as for what they are I haven't the faintest clue, I admit I'm not a very good writer) so he prefers to stick to himself. By now Rita has established her moon palace and has summoned reinforcements led by Rito Revolto. After her monsters are dealt another defeat by the rangers, Rita decides to destroy them with one of their own. She sees Tommy, brings him to her palace and manipulat

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
