Like, you're telling me 'wes' and 'w.s.' are seperate? I thought the guy's name was Paul Wes Anderson, and he just styled it different depending on whether he wanted to make a stupid action movie, or a fancy pants artsy kind of film.
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of Wes Andersonโs latest films. Wes Anderson if you are not familiar with him, is known for his very distinct style that most people either love or hate. Namely his very flat, symmetrical and highly colour vibrant scenes mixed with his very deadpan and emotional yet humorous script writing. The grand Budapest Hotel does not stray from this formula at all, thus creating a unmistakably Wes Anderson film and for that matter one of his best.
So usually I go about these reviews in a very structured way and divide them up into 6 categories and analyse those 6 categories namely:
Visuals and sound Cast and acting Editing and pacing
However with this film I am rather going to highlight a few things that stood out to me. I will still of course comment on some of those 6 categories however it will not be as structured as my previous writings.
Wes Anderson is one of my personal favourite directors and is the man behind Fantastic Mr Fox, my favourite movie of all time. So when I watch any Wes Anderson film I have very high expectations and critique them as so. That being said even with my high expectations they were exceeded and makes The Grand Budapest Hotel an incredible movie.
One of the things that makes Wes Anderson an amazing director is his use of colour. The Grand Budapest Hotel makes use of this with very saturated, vibrant colours all throughout aside from a few scenes of which I will delve into their significance later on. As a whole this film is beautiful, itโs colourful scenes are amazing to look at, they all take such pride in their attention to detail in a way that makes them feel so lived in and does not leave them feeling like a set. It makes it fun to watch and every scene feels special. This movie uses colour for a much deeper purpose than just viewing experience, it uses colour as a way to control the viewers emotions. When they want to portray a deeper more emotional scene they switch the colour palette from bright to dull making you feel more introspective.
The film takes place over 2 time lines the past and present, both time lines contrasted only by the once bustling atmosphere of the Grand Budapest which has now descended into bankruptcy and appears as a ghost town and the once colourful colour palette has been replaced with a more natural, drab colour scheme. This contrast is very effective at portraying the nostalgia that the main character feels and ties into the plot very nicely.

As the title suggests does anyone know when the GWH will be invaded? I came back after 2 years of not playing this game and I have still yet to get a Nemesis.. I dislike when games rely on rng WEEKLY for a fucking blue print. Is anyone keeping track of the invadeds?
