Having just rewatched Eternals now that it’s on Disney Plus, I was reminded of how impressive Richard Madden’s performance was. The movie isn’t the best, but he was excellent.
I think it’s a shame he’s now unavailable for any other Marvel role, though. Based on his performance as Ikaris I’m completely convinced that he would have played Scott Summer / Cyclops perfectly.
Everyone in the Eternals look to Ikaris as the leader and he never seems entirely comfortable with it. He is very powerful but lacks charisma, and he’s passionate but repressed; all traits that perfectly encapsulate Scott Summers.
Does anybody else agree? Also, are there any other actors who you wish hadn’t been cast in a Marvel role because you can picture a better character for them?
Salma herself has confirmed that she has a contract for future movies but there’s no news about the other >!dead!< eternals like Gilgamesh and Ikaris are returning. I’m just asking because I’ve gotten into some of Madden’s work and he’s SO underrated and unfortunately he’s sometimes a major/important character (GoT spoilters)—>>!who’s killed off quickly (ironically in GoT he was “replaced” by Kit Harrington),!< never seen again, yet remembered.
For a while now I’ve imagined Richard Madden as the next 007 and now I can’t imaging any one else going next. I have a feeling he could play a great 60s or 70s Bond possibly, but I’d still be fine with modern. I mean he even looks like Bond even though Bond has no look. He just already IS James Bond.

I was watching Eternals the other night, when out of the blue the thought struck me that Richard Madden would make a great actor to play Eddie.
What's y'all's thoughts?

Don't get me wrong, GOT was great and all, but i was never more stunned in my life than when i saw him on the Netflix series Bodyguard.. i swear it was just rad. Personally his acting on all levels was better on Bodyguard and also i liked his Bodyguard character more than him as rob snow..
Also before anyone asks, no these are not the only references I'm using. I just wanted to provide you all with a general idea of what he looks like if you didn't know who he is.
