Javed Akhtar a renowned Indian Muslim poet is openly Atheist in a country like India and is facing a lot of backlash and threats from Politicians, so called spiritual leaders and even common people. He also won the Richard Dawkins award.
Its truly saddening that a man with such a unique school of thought and intellectual capability is facing threats and assault. I truly respect him cause being Atheist is one thing but openly advocating about it to a population that is hugely blinded by religion requires courage. India is a country today where even the majority of millennial population is religious and in a toxic way.
