I just got an interview and they really seem to want me as a line cook at one of canada's top 50 restaurants where both the owner and head chef are award winning chefs!! I can't tell if how I feel is nervous or excited but i currently work as a line chef right now and I gotta say I think I suck at my job, should I take the job if I get it? Would it just be worse to leave my almost new job of a week and a half to go work here when I feel so inexperienced or would having the opportunity to work under such good chefs really boost my skills? I plan to go to canada's top culinary school in a year or so if I can make it in so would having this as a place I've worked look good for that? I'm still in such a daze from the fact they contacted me first asking me to come in for an interview!

(UPDATE) I nailed it!! The head chef said they'd love to have me and that I'm 100% going to think its hell and get overwhelmed but if I can rough it out he'd give me an apprenticeship and help me get into my choice culinary school which is the best in Canada!

(UPDATE 2) They fired me over me needing to take the day off since my roommate went into labor. I'm in shock, it was my second day and they decided to fire me over an emergency I have no control of

This list was compiled from the top 1,000 food joints, as determined from an online search, near Philadelphia. I filtered out places that weren't primarily about the food (cafés, stores, bars, caterers, creperies, coffee shops, etc.) I filtered out places with under 50 reviews. I ranked them based on their online ratings. I adjusted the ratings to reward restaurants with more reviews. It's a good sign that a place can consistently attract diners. I adjusted to reward higher priced venues. A 5/5 taco stand doesn't have the same caliber of food as a French fine dining restaurant. I used this adjustment because I believe users adjust their expectations of quality based on how much they pay for their meal.

These factors led to the following list of the top 50 restaurants in Philadelphia for April 2017. The map below has an overall 1-50 ranking. I also provide a list of these restaurants by price range, as I would to a friend looking for recommendations.

I'm happy with this list. It closely parallels the sentiments of online forums while allowing for some breakout contenders like Stockyard Sandwiches. It represents many different neighborhoods and types of cuisine. For the full detiled table of the top 100 as well as a map, please see here.

I revised the recent list posted here based on feedback. I tried to eliminate smaller takeout places, big touristy/uber popular spots, and places that weren't restaurants. I hope this list represents some improvement over the last.
