For the past 2 years I’ve been absolutely petrified of bats and rabies and when ever I find anything that could remotely resemble a “bat bite” I start a clock and spend the next 3 months living in fear and waiting to die a miserable death from rabies. This time it was that I woke up from a dream where I was being bitten by a stray cat and shrugged it off as a random dream. Later in the day I found out the attic access in our condo closet had fallen open at some point over the past few days (probably from some hurricane force winds we had shaking and pulling on the building and jolting it loose). Still my mind writes a story by connecting the dots and it’s goes a little something like this. At some point the attic access was upended some how before a rabid bat made its way in the condo and bit my hand in my sleep where the sensation made my head choreograph it into the dream as a cat biting me before the bat flew away back into the attic. Far fetched I know but now I’m once again stuck in this compulsive prison and scared to even move, I feel paralyzed. I can’t do this anymore (I’m in no way even remotely suicidal, I’m literally terrified of death), but seriously I can’t do this shit anymore I want to scream. This is robbing me of my happiness. I want to cry right now but, I literally can’t muster the tears since my body is stuck in fight or flight.

I used to like Stephanie, but now I just find her annoying. Her "charity" sealed the deal for me. How could anyone be so utterly tonedeaf?

I don't know a lot about Texas, but I have seen Friday Night Lights, so I have a strong reason to believe that the theatre kids and Tammy Taylor need justice, and if Stephanie cared so much about her home state, she would use her funds to make sure Oklahoma! rehearsal was not taking place in the parking lot. Also, football teams have booster clubs to do a lot of what she did, I mean not all booster clubs get a lot of money but jeez. What a dumb charity.

AND THEN to say she was doing all of this to impress her husband and not because she was passionate about the cause or anything. She barely told us about the cause, except that there was Hurricane Harvey involved. I was confused...like what was happening? Why did the locker room specifically fare so poorly?

To make matters even worse , she took a private jet to see it, still in a flipping global pandemonium, to go see it and brought her friends to fluff her ego, while having her talking heads all about how she wanted to do it to impress Travis. Honey, no!!!

Gorrrrll!!! Is there not a better way to spend your "charity money"?????

Contrast that to Dolores' award, after she showed us many seasons of the hard work she did all on her own, at the women's shelter, with pet rescue, and now breast cancer awareness. Like a true Queen she did not even blink an eye when her boyfriend left the ceremony (although she had her ex to cry for her lol) because she does those things because she actually believes in them. Luckily this happened in two nights, which was great to cement my disgust for the Hollmans and whatever bullshit foundations they support.

Would you like to help us during Flying-fox heat stress events?Fauna Rescue Flying-fox & Microbat Team are seeking expressions of interest for helpers to assist the team at Flying-fox Heat Stress Events (HSE) in the coming season. These roles will not require vaccination against rabies.

It is ESSENTIAL that you are able to attend our HSE course 9.15am-12.30pm on Sunday 10th October at a hall in Tusmore 5065 if you wish to be part of the Flying-fox Heat Stress Event Team.

There will be a tour of the Botanic Park Colony after lunch for those not familiar with where the bats reside and where Fauna Rescue set up their meeting point and triage area.

A Heat Stress Event can take place from November-February when temperatures reach over 42 degrees, so you must be able to cope with those temperatures for periods of time. **We get an indication by following weather forecasts when an event could happen. Often bats do not start to need help until the latter part of the day, so even if you work you could be of vital help from late afternoon into the evening. (You do not 'have to' come every time, any time you can attend will be helpful!)**

The non-vaccinated roles include:Photographers to record the day's events (you do not need fancy professional equipment for this, good shots taken on a phone will be adequate),
spotters of bats in difficulty,
communications,
respite and refreshment organisers,
transporters,
scribes for weights and measures of deceased bats.

We need to be open and not hide the fact that some Heat Stress Events can be extremely traumatic with many deaths (over 10,000 bats are estimated to have died in 2019/20 seasons events), but if you feel you are able to participate, you will be invaluable in helping saving many lives and Fauna Rescue and Adelaide's Flying-foxes are in need of your assistance.
