A list of puns related to "Ram Air Intake"
I (for some strange reason) like naturally aspirated cars, and was wondering of anyone knows how to make ram airs and cold air intakes, so I can make more NA performance parts
Quick question. Just got my 2013 TC and I may have impulsively purchased an HPS short ram intake without doing too much research. I'm concerned about the heat draw, and the HPS doesn't come with a heat shield. However, I can't use a cold air intake because I'm moving to Houston very soon. Don't want to risk getting hydrolocked. Can I create my own heat shield, or is the heat not a big deal for the intake. From what I've read, most people believe a heat shield is imperative for the short ram to function properly. Any advice is appreciated.
I've been looking around for a cold air intake for a while now for my 2019 z71 v6 Colorado and I can't find much under $200. After doing a decent bit of research I discovered short ram air intakes which I have come to like a lot more than the cold air intakes. I've spent the past few days looking around for one for my Colorado, but I cannot seem to find much of anything. Anybody know of any that I could use for my Colorado or how to go about making my own possibly?
I bought an 07 Speed3 two months ago and I was trying to find a new intake filter. I tried finding the OEM dimensions and that led me down a rabbit hole of CAIs and SRIs and I only found two pictures of a stock intake with an air box. This car came with a Mazdaspeed branded 2.75" intake with CARB numbers, and after some research, I found out that it's an OEM CAI that's supposed to be a two piece, with the other intake tube connecting where the filter currently is. I have no idea why it's like this, but would it be problematic? Should I try to get it tuned or would the ECU be able to adjust itself? I've put 1.1k miles on it so far and it gave me a P2188 code (too rich at idle) about 100 miles ago, which is usually a MAF problem. Would the MAF location relative to the air filter be screwing with my ECU and fuel trims? I'm still learning about these cars and I figured that stupid questions are preferable to stupid outcomes.

First of all hi! :) My first post in Reddit, although I have occasionally read this for years.
Here is my new baby:After designing similar products first to my Clownshoe and getting massive gains in torque/hp. I sold so far about 40 pairs into 30 different countries for Z3 based cars.. I looked if anyone had already done one for E36, and surprisingly, there were only ugly too small air ducts available for E36.
I have spent 100 hours into this design and it came pretty evident from testing and proto phase why those other products were not successful designs.
However, here it is.E36 RAM AIR DUCTS
Fits all E36 models and M and non-M bumper..
With 3β outlet, use for engine induction CSL style or in Turbo application. Or use these for serious brake cooling!
These will be professionally manufactured from order, plastic is factory made in sweden and then I do the rest of the build with my hands here in Finland... So this wont be available in STL files like the Z3 ones, as this is not simply just printed part but more.
Fits perfectly to original mounting points.Material is OEM grade ASA + brass.
Comes with best quality stainless steel mounting hardware and installing tool.
Price is 160β¬ + shipping cost.
Lead time is approx. 2 weeks + shipping.Andd because I have no idea how this reddit works, you can contact me for orders for example in instagram: https://www.instagram.com/erik_eriksson_design/ or facebook: https://www.facebook.com/erikerikssondesign
Does anyone have any experience with cold air/short ram intakes? I do a lot of highway driving with mine and itβs crazy sluggish in the higher-range RPMs. Iβm thinking of installing one of the aforementioned even if itβs just an extra little boost to my little engine. Any thoughts?
which of the two would you personally prefer, and why? i've got a 2012 SL AWD.
I wanted to get a cold air but the position it goes to is a little dangerous, as it could get very wet, and also since it's turboed i already have an intercooler. which would give me better bang for buck?

what do you guys think? adds an extra 5 horsepower
So I just bought an 02 type s it currently has a Injen cold air intake which is behind the fog light area of the bumper. I feel like it might be too low and that Iβm running risk of Hydrolocking. Should I sell it and buy a ram or just keep it? Thanks
I've got a 94 Mustang GT and I just removed the old Stack Racing cold air intake I put in years ago with a Ram Air Intake from American Muscle.
I decided to go with a Ram Air Intake to make cleaning the filter A LOT easier. The old cold air intake was hidden in the fender and the filter would get extremely dirty.
So when I started it up the engine didn't sound right and appears to be shaking. I'm thinking a lot of gunk got into the engine and it's not used to clean air coming in? I took it around the block and it just didn't feel right. Come to a stop sign and it felt like engine wanted to turn off. Of course my mechanic is on a staycation atm so I've got to figure this out on my own and I'm not exactly a car genius.

Added extra air intake to front panel.
Painted the ram white and raised the pump.
Looking to hard tube the liquid loop if anyone knows where I can get the hard tube fittings for the ekwb fluid gaming let me know.
For raising the pump I just bent the mount that it came with not too pretty so going to build one out of acrylic tomorrow along with painting the GPU and making a back plate.
Next plan is creating a shroud cover as all the holes and mounting points for the HDD/SSD annoy the hell out of me. Anyway if anyone has ideas about other mods i'm open to them.
I've been thinking about splashing on the SRAI from Injen
Any thoughts on this?
How has your experience been with installing something like this, is it fairly straight forward? I've taken the engine cover off to change plugs and coils before, so I think I know HALF how to do it
Does a SRAI effect fuel usage? will the car use more fuel more quickly? a little more power? does it sound badass? lol
