A list of puns related to "Rak Studios"
Humbug. An album widely considered to be the most major turning point in the Arctic Monkeys' entire career, and one which split the fanbase in two and divided so many. Gone were the days of nasally accents and relatable stories, in with the smooth purrs and the metaphor-stuffed ballads. The pace was slowed, the bass was boosted, and some people weren't pleased. Many flocked in droves away from the album, claiming that the Arctic Monkeys were dead, and that the hype had gone. However, the other half of people, those who saw Humbug for what it really was, they knew that the album was a gem from day one. A psychedelic lyrical marvel, helped along by the legendary Josh Homme of Queens of The Stone Age, Humbug is widely considered by many today to be the greatest album the band have ever made. And, whilst I can't agree with that myself, its' sheer brilliance in terms of writing and lyricism cannot be denied.
But what if this wasn't what was originally the plan?
#Part 1: The Favourite Worst Nightmare Tour - Teasing The Fans
Now, cast your minds back to late 2007. All throughout the Favourite Worst Nightmare tour, something has been happening. From gig to gig, new songs begin to pop up. First on the list is The Wagon On The Way To The Stripey Tent - an instrumental with a catchy guitar riff, debuted on the 13th September 2007 . Printed on the setlist, the tune immediately attracts attention - even more so when, in a performance for radio station KCRW 89.9FM, they play the song as a segue straight into This House Is A Circus. This is around the time that, on September 21st 2007, another song is debuted: Nettles. Both of these tracks represent a darker, deeper Arctic Monkeys, and gives a taste of what the next B-Sides could sound like.
Soon, the boys are playing Wagon On The Way To The Stripey Tent as the opener for every set. It becomes a staple, always leading into This House is A Circus as a brilliantly energetic way to start the gig. However, on October 24th, 2007, everything changes. In a gig at Luna Park, Buenos Aires, Argentina, instead of playing the instrumental intro as usual, Alex begins to sing:
"When you lead us through the patient doors, that rattle in your ear will be the sound of our applause..."
And with that, the newly renamed Sandtrap is born. A now fully fleshed out song, with lyrics that go above and beyond even songs such as If You Were There, Beware, fans are excited for what the next single could bring. And the hype train is about t

Please use this thread for all general discussion, theories and questions about 1972. Information will be updated as necessary. You may also be interested in checking out the #green-day channel on our Discord for further discussion.
You may still post any new information along with all audio, video & picture teases on the sub.
What is 1972?
Green Day posted video teases on Dec 19th & Jan 7th with each featuring new song snippets and the suspected album or EP title of "1972".
Why would it be called 1972?
Each band member was born in 1972 and will turn 50 this year. The theory is that the new album/EP would be some sort of celebration of the past 50 years.
Is 1972 an album or an EP?
Just prior to the first video tease, a fan reported on Facebook that they spoke to Billie Joe at The Golden Bull bar and he told them that the band had just recorded 6 songs in London for an EP. This information seems to be lining up with the information in the video tease so it's most likely going to be an EP but we have no official confirmation either way.
When would it be released?
If the album/EP is celebrating the bands collective birth year as expected, it's possible it would be released on February 18th which is one day after Billie Joe turns 50 - the first of the band members to do so. There's been no announcement regarding this so far but if that date is correct, you would expect a single to be released as early as January 14th 21st.
When and where was it recorded?
It's revealed in the first teaser video that 1972 was recorded at RAK Studios in London, England. Billie Joe and Tre were recording in Studio 1 at RAK in late October 2021. Mike Dirnt did not make the trip and most likely recorded his parts at a home studio or the bands studio OTIS.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I thought I was fairly educated prior to getting into mining and knew not to swap antennas with the unit powered on. I believed this was due to the chance that you could fry the miner by shorting something out.
TIL: The reason you don't do this is because RF (Radio Frequencies) behave differently that the electronic signals we are more used to dealing with. The Radio signal will hit the end of the connector and it is looking for an antenna that acts like a resistor aka resistive load. Well, if it doesn't find that, the signal bounces right back into the circuitry and blows up the radio (what part exactly I don't know but it's fried.. )
I thought I was being smart and fired up 3 RAK V2 miners and left them plugged into ethernet, added them to the block chain and my wallet and was letting them get SW updates and a to catch up on Syncing the blockchain before deploying them. It turns out all I did was fry all 3 miners.
I took a miner to a friend's house to install in the attic, and it's been up for the better part of 50 hours. I've been through 2813 blocks and not issued a challenge. I also show N/A on the transmit scale.
Previous experience showed that it should have gone through this milestone by now and the transmit scale is suspect since it's the only miner in the hexagon, tho this could be issued once the challenge is issued and since it won't I'll never get a value.
Opening the miner shows a small mini-PCIe board labeled RAK2287, which googling will tell you is based on a Semtechยฎ SX1302 baseband LoRaยฎ chip. Since this board is necessary to do the radio part of the RAK v2 miner it isn't in stock since they need them to, well, make and sell more miners.
At this point I'm torn as to what my options are:
What I can't find with any degree of certainly is the process by which a miner is "blessed" to be on the network and if this is tied to the FCC ID of the board or some other unique identifier. I could be replacing a board only to find in now have a properly working piece of hardware that still isn't a miner and I can't even pay the fee to register it on the blockchain.
There is also no miner repair videos/shop/tutorials that I've found as to what to d
