A list of puns related to "Ragnar Lodbrok"
Ragna Lodbrok, Himeko's former captain and mentor to Rita and Durandal, is likely based on the Viking hero of legend, Ragnar Lodbrok:

His sons: Ivar the Boneless, Ubba, Halfdan, Bjorn Ironside, Hvitserk, and Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye are also all very famous Viking historical figures.
In the same way, Honkai's Captain Ragna's protegees all go on to become important valkyries and prominent figures in the story.
Just an interesting thing I noticed that I thought others might also appreciate.
Okay, so many have shared the stories of their exciting games, and although I always enjoyed reading them, formerly I never felt the urge to share mine. That is until now because this last viking ruler of mine was an absolute beast!
The Saga of Hakón 'Hideous' Munsö:
Prince Hakón - who is claimed to be descended from the great Ragnar Lodbrok and his son, Björn Ironside - inherited a realm that was on the brink of collapse. Although his father managed to reclaim the long lost realm of Norway, he did so by sacrificing his reputation and with his departure to the Valhalla, he left the kingdoms in an anarchic state, leaving the work of bringing prosperity for the Northmen to his son.
The newly crowned King Hakón had barely anything, but his ambition. His most powerful vassals were conspiring against him to remove him from the throne and sickness also engulfed him. From his sick-bed, he orchestrated a murder scheme that had only 5% chance of success, while allowing experimental treatments being perform on his young body, hoping to find a solution to his worsening condition. With luck of biblical proportion - and by the grace of the gods no doubt -, he managed to send his rival to Hel, thus ending the conspiracy and the treatments also worked, though leaving him disfigured for a life.
In his following years, Hakón would expand his domain across all Scandinavia and huge parts of the Baltic area, as well as claiming all of Ireland for the sons of the Allfather. He founded the High Kingdom of Sweden, thus forming the first norse empire.
Despite his frightening appearance, he was known as a very social man, an excellent strategist and a ruthless schemer. Although he never cared much for honor or respect - as he was willing to sacrifice it all for reasons of state -, but he too had his boundaries. Although many contemporaries claimed that he feared no god nor man, the former proved to be utterly incorrect.
As he was nearing the end of his journey in Midgard, his ambition led him to find a new view on the world that surrounded him. He started to indulge in matters of theology and understanding of the gods. He dreamed of reforming the Astarú faith and dealing with the false Christ-god once and for all. His devotion towards this grew with each year - some say he went as far as turning towards ritualistic practices and witchcraft. Once every piece was in place, he set off to unknowingly fulfill the dreams of the his ancestor, Björn Ironside, and take Rome. Not onl

Uhtred's daughter stiorra claimed when meeting sigtriggyr said that her mother gisela was daughter of hafcanute (can't spell it), who, according to the wiki here..is the son of sigurd snake-in the-eye. Which makes gisela and guthred are the grandchildren of sigurd who as we all know as well is another son of ragnar lodbrok.
So how true is this? And this means that, uhtred's descendants and family (through gisela) carry the genes of our very own ragnar lodbrok right?
It’s said that the children of Ragnar Lodbrok are legitimate historical figures. So why are they called Ragnars’ children if Ragnar didn’t exist? Who were their fathers if not Ragnar?
This is my first watch through of the show vikings. It has been really phenomenal so far. Some things don't sit with me right. What has happened to ragnars character? He goes from a fearless king to basically a bum. I'm on season 4 episode 12 and how his character is treated now I don't really understand.

“Odin'in benim için şölen masasını hazırladığını bilmek çok güzel. Yakında kıvrık boynuzlardan şarap içeceğiz. Odin'in Valhalla'sına gelen bir savaşçı şikâyet etmez. Onun yanına ağzımda korku sözleriyle girmeyeceğim. Æsir beni karşılayacak. Ölüm yas olmadan gelecek. Ben de gitmek için sabırsızlanıyorum. Disir artık beni eve götür, Odin'in gönderdiği Valkürler. Æsir ile onur duyarak içkimizi yudumlayalım. Ömrümün günleri sona eriyor. Ölürken gülüyorum.„

Hi, I'm a new player with less than 15 hours under my belt and this is my first playthrough and enjoying it so far. I should also mention that this is the first grand strategy game I've played as well so the learning curve was quite steep. I am playing non ironman and with console cheats for this playthrough.
So anyway, I was reading up on the wiki about bloodlines and it mentioned that the Ragnarr bloodline should already be formed (right now it is June 821 in my playthrough) so I tried looking for him or his descendants so I could breed his bloodline into my dynasty. But his bloodline wasn't in the ledger and I soon found out why. Turns out the AI had already killed him off at the ripe old age of 7 so he didn't get to form his bloodline (see attached screenshot).
So my question is this: will his bloodline be formed by another Norse king or one of Ragnarr's kinsmen or will his bloodline simply not exist for the remainder of this game. If that is the case is there any way for me to force his bloodline into existence through the magic of console cheats or save editing? Any help detailing the specifics of how that could be done is appreciated.

Sorry for making another book recommendation post, but I couldn't find any recommendations in the reading list or in the sub search.
I've been trying to do some research on Ragnar Lođbrok's sons and the sources surrounding them, and naturally it's worth visiting the main man himself and his saga, with his final words. I have however relied on Crawford's edition of the saga, which has been fine, but I know you guys and girls always have some hidden gems, either in form of dual editions or some translation with great notes, so I figured I'd give it a shot and ask(thanks again for the previous recommendations by AtiWati)
I read English and have a good enough understanding of the Scandinavian languages to be able to read books fluently. So don't be afraid to recommend any Danish/Norwegian/Swedish editions. I actively try to get better at Old Norse so dual editions are always appreciated.
People might know him from the TV show vikings but I found out that he was the leader of the siege of Paris. And was a real historical person, as you know assassins creed loves to introduce historical characters in the game and I really hope they bring Ragnar in as a character. Obviously he’ll probably be very different from the tv show version but it would be cool if he was voiced by the same guy who played him in the tv show. Let’s hope. Also I don’t know how the timelines match but if they match i would be optimistic that he’s in the game
Good morning Reddit, let me spin you a tale. This is a long one, so buckle in.
Ragnar Lodbrok was viciously killed during the conquest of Northumbria by King Aella. His son's vowed revenge, but none with more intensity than Ivar the Boneless.
Ivar's thirst for vengeance was unending. It would not be enough to see Aella bleed. The realm he so loved would fall under the control of the Northmen, all the lands he swore to protect would crumble around him.
Ivar acted swiftly. He subjugated the growing kingdom of Scotland and consolidated his power over the northern tip of the British isles. He began to conquer the kingdom of Ireland tribe by tribe, letting the hated Anglo-Saxons believe they were safe. Alas age had caught up to the great viking war chief. His son, Sigfrop Ivarsson, took a different approach.
Sigfrop was always too clever for his own good. Seeing the growing discontent in his fathers lands due to the faith of the Asatru, he began a campaign of subversion that continues to this day. He swore to devour Catholicism from the inside. He stealthily 'converted' to Catholicism while his father lay on his deathbed. This Consolidated his lead in the Scandinavian election and gained him the trust of his fathers still Catholic vassals. Sigfrop would continue his Father's conquest of Ireland after inheriting the growing Kingdom of Scotland. Meanwhile his vassals would extend the lands into Northumbria, beginning the fulfillment of Ivar's revenge.
The pope was found to be torturing the young in the deepest chambers of the Vatican. Much speculation remains about the 'evidence' that proved this claim. There are some that claim to have seen bodies being brought in via the canals while the guards turned a blind eye. All speculation, of course. Sigfrop being the 'devout Catholic' that he was, denounced the pope for these discovered transgressions. The pope responded in kind by excommunicating Sigfrop Ivarsson. Bad move. By this point Sigfrop had conquered, bought, vassalized, or subjugated the majority of the British isles. The last holdout was the descendant of Alfred 'the great.' Sigfrop took this opportunity to convert to the Coptic faith and take the British isles with him.
During a trip to Alexandria to proclaim his faith to the world, Sigfrop passed through Il Vaticano in a show of disrespect to a now rival. From the direction of the city came a diseased corpse flying in. It missed the camp by a healthy margin. Priests shouldn't attempt to be military
