A list of puns related to "Quotations From Chairman Mao Tse Tung"
Red vinyl cover with title and star (no picture, fair/good condition). Lin Biao's ("Lin Piao" in the book) handwriting page after Mao's portrait in the book. 33 chapters, 312 pages, Chinese publication info on the 313th page.
I bought it for $1, is it worth anything? Can send/post pictures if requested.
I friend requested I get a copy for them, but am leaving Asia soon. I'm just wondering if anybody knows any bookstores or souvenir shops that might have a copy. Note that this is not a post to elicit any political debate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I think this has beaten out "Japanese Food with Vladimir Putin" as strangest dream I've ever had.
The dream started off with me and my father driving to my uncle's cottage. I have Quotations From Chairman Mao Tse-Tung with me, in my pocket. We rolled into the driveway, and got out of the car. My uncle came up to us, and said he'd need help getting his wharf set up. I agree to go wading in the water to help set up the poles.
I jumped in the water, which was up to my waist and cold as fuck. For some reason, the poles are already in. My uncle and my father are busy getting the wharf itself out of my uncle's shed. While I'm waiting, I read a little bit of the Quotations and walk in a circle to pass the time. I nearly tripped over a rock, and the little red book went flying from my hands. I yelled "No!" and grabbed the little red book out of the water, finding it ruined. My uncle came rushing down to see what had happen. I say that I got startled over something, and he just goes back up.
Then the dream switches back to my home. My mom is making supper, and for some reason my better half is also at my house. I'm still "mourning" the loss of my little commie book. As my mother's making supper (which, IIRC, consisted of rice, sweet and sour chicken, broccoli, and carrots), there's a knock at the garage door. I decided to go and answer it. I open it up, and fucking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's at the door.
Trudeau told me that his car had broken down, his cell had broke, and he needed a phone to call CAA. I yelled to my mom, asking if Justin Trudeau could come in to use our phone. She said yes, so I let my Prime Minister in. Trudeau called CAA, but apparently they were gonna take a while due to a high volume of calls. At this point, I offer Trudeau supper, which he accepts.
At this point supper's ready, so me, my boyfriend, my mom, and my father were eating dinner with the Prime Minister. Me and Trudeau struck up a conversation. After we're finished supper, I take out a box of Nerds candies, and offer some to Prime Minister Trudeau. Justin accepted, and I poured some into his hand. I finished the rest of the Nerds. At that point, I cut the box open, and asked Justin Trudeau to sign the inside of the box. He agreed, and took out a pin.
So, Justin began to write his name. But as soon as he finished the first "J," his ride was repaired, and he had to go. This got me uber pissed off, all the while my boyfriend and parents look on like nothing went

The force at the core leading our cause forward is the Chinese Communist Party. The theoretical basis guiding our thinking is Marxism-Leninism.
Opening address at the First Session of the First National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (September 15, 1954).
If there is to be revolution, there must be a revolutionary party. Without a revolutionary party, without a party built on the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary theory and in the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary style, it is impossible to lead the working class and the broad masses of the people in defeating imperialism and its running dogs.
"Revolutionary Forces of the World Unite, Fight Against Imperialist Aggression!" (November 1948), Selected Works, Vol. IV, p. 284.*
Without the efforts of the Chinese Communist Party, without the Chinese Communists as the mainstay of the Chinese people, China can never achieve independence and liberation, or industrialization and the modernization of her agriculture.
"On Coalition Government" (April 24, 1945), Selected Works, Vol. III, p. 318.*
The Chinese Communist Party is the core of leadership of the whole Chinese people. Without this core, the cause of socialism cannot be victorious.
Talk at the general reception for the delegates to the Third National Congress of the New Democratic Youth League of China (May 25, 1957).
A well-disciplined Party armed with the theory of Marxism-Leninism, using the method of self-criticism and linked with the masses of the people; an army under the leadership of such a Party; a united front of all revolutionary classes and all revolutionary groups under the leadership of such a Party - these are the three main weapons with which we have defeated the enemy.
"On the People's Democratic Dictatorship" (June 30, 1949), Selected Works, Vol. IV, p. 422.
We must have faith in the masses and we must have faith in the Party. These are two cardinal principles. If we doubt these principles, we shall accomplish nothing.
On the Question of Agricultural Co-operation (.July 31, 1955), 3rd ed., p. 7.*
Armed with Marxist-Leninist theory and ideology, the Communist Party of China has brought a new style of work to the Chinese people. A style of work which essentially entails integrating theory with practice, forging close links with the masses and practicing self-criticism.

Classes struggle, some classes triumph, others are eliminated. Such is history; such is the history of civilization for thousands of years. To interpret history from this viewpoint is historical materialism; standing in opposition to this viewpoint is historical idealism.
"Cast Away Illusions, Prepare for Struggle" (August 14, 1949), Selected Works, Vol. IV, p. 428.
In class society, everyone lives as a member of a particular class, and every kind of thinking, without exception, is stamped with the brand of a class.
"On Practice" (July 1937), Selected Works, Vol. I, p. 296.
Changes in society are due chiefly to the development of the internal contradictions in society, that is, the contradiction between the productive forces and the relations of production, the contradiction between classes and the contradiction between the old and the new; it is the development of these contradictions that pushes society forward and gives the impetu6 for the suppression of the old society by the new.
"On Contradiction" (August 1937), Selected Works, Vol. I, P. 314.
The ruthless economic exploitation and political oppression of the peasants by the landlord class forced them into numerous uprisings against its rule.... It was the class struggles of the peasants, the peasant uprisings and peasant wars that constituted the real motive force of historical development in Chinese feudal society.
"The Chinese Revolution and the Chinese Communist Party" (December 1939), Selected Works, Vol. II, p. 308.*
In the final analysis, national struggle is a matter of class struggle. Among the whites in the United States, it is only the reactionary ruling circles that oppress the black people. They can in no way represent the workers, farmers, revolutionary intellectuals and other enlightened persons who comprise the overwhelming majority of the white people.
"Statement Supporting the American Negroes in Their Just Struggle Against Racial Discrimination by U.S. Imperialism" (August 8, 1963), People of the World, Unite and Defeat the U.S. Aggressors and All Their Lackeys, 2nd ed., pp. 3-4. *
It is up to us to organize the people. As for the reactionaries in China, it is up to us to organize the people to overthrow them. Everything reactionary is the same; if you do not hit it, it will not fall. This is also like sweeping the floor; as a rule, where the broom does not reach, the dust will not vanish of itself.

Any idea of what this might be worth?
Also, why are asian comrades the only major comrades that get referred to by their first name? I guess thereโs also Che, maybe hard last names make people refer to the first name
I canโt think of any other socialist country besides China that references leaders by first name, why is that?
His MarxistโLeninist theories, military strategies, and political policies are collectively known as Maoism or Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.
Born the son of a wealthy farmer in Shaoshan, Hunan, Mao adopted a Chinese nationalist and anti-imperialist outlook in early life, particularly influenced by the events of the Xinhai Revolution of 1911 and May Fourth Movement of 1919. Mao adopted MarxismโLeninism while working at Peking University and became a founding member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), leading the Autumn Harvest Uprising in 1927. During the Chinese Civil War between the Guomindang (GMD) and the CPC, Mao helped to found the Red Army, led the Jiangxi Soviet's radical land policies and ultimately became head of the CPC during the Long March. Although the CPC temporarily allied with the GMD under the United Front during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937โ45), after Japan's defeat China's civil war resumed and in 1949 Mao's forces defeated the Nationalists who withdrew to Taiwan.
On October 1, 1949, Mao proclaimed the foundation of the People's Republic of China (PRC), a one-party state controlled by the CPC. In the following years Mao solidified his control through land reform campaigns against landlords, and perceived enemies of the state he termed as "counter-revolutionaries". In 1957, he launched the Great Leap Forward campaign that aimed to rapidly transform China's economy from an agrarian economy to an industrial one. The campaign contributed to a widespread famine, whose death toll is estimated at between 15 and 45 million. In 1966, he initiated the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, a program to remove "counter-revolutionary" elements of Chinese society that lasted 10 years and which was marked by violent class struggle, widespread destruction of cultural artifacts and unprecedented elevation of Mao's personality cult. In 1972, Mao welcomed American President Richard Nixon in Beijing, signalling a policy of opening China, which was furthered under the rule of Deng Xiaoping (1978โ1992). Mao suffered a series of heart attacks in 1976, dying in that September, aged 82. He was succeeded as Paramount leader by Hua Guofeng (1976โ1978), who was quickly sidelined and replaced by Deng.
A controversial figure, Mao is regarded as one of the most important individuals in modern world history, and is also known as a theorist, military strategist, poet and visionary. Supporters credit him with driving imperialism out of China, modernising China an

I have read portions of the Journey to the West and watched the great 1964 cartoon, โHavoc in Heaven.โ But what exactly is being said here? I cannot translate them perfectly, but an American translator said itโs something along the lines of โDown with the Prince Of Hell, liberate the Little Devil,โ and โThe local areas must produce several more Monkey Kings to vigorously create a disturbance at the palace of the king of heaven.โ Are these correct?

Basically what I'm looking for is something that has quotations and ideas about the particular strain of socialism about what it should be and how the socialist should be.
Doesn't have to be exactly that but something similar.
