A list of puns related to "Questionable Content Dog"
I was a regular reader of QC a couple years back. Martin and Dora broke up, Faye and Angus were in a relationship, Hannelore went to space for her dad's birthday, you know.
I followed on and off after that, the slice of life tone was pretty cool I just had a lot going on at the time. Eventually I checked back in and there were a lot of AI storylines going on, which is interesting because I remember a post from a long time ago where Jeph basically said AI centered plots don't usually last very long because he gets bored and doesn't know what to do with them (granted this was around the 1000 mark).
So what's going on here? Are Martin, Dora and Hanners even a big part of the comic anymore? Has QC evolved from a slice of life comic to one about AIs and humans dating them now? I'm just very confused and need to be brought up to speed.
(Question at the end, i just wanted to put in context)
Lately my brother has been watching some very weird things on youtube. Lately, its explicit and violent minecraft and undetale animations.
I didn't think it would be that big of a problem because I often tell him to change videos because it's inappropriate. However, I caught him flipping off his older brother yesterday, and now im worried because not too long ago i had to explain to him that "bitch" is a bad word and that should never be said.
So now I'm wondering what to do, because his parents spoil him and don't set up barriers to what he should and shouldn't watch.
I wanted to know if any of you know of fun educational channels that he could watch or anything clean and appropriate for someone of his age.
Hey everyone!
A few years ago, I posted about this on the original QC subreddit, but since I've made the switch to this one since (although I'm mostly a lurker here), I thought it would be a good idea to post about it here too. Especially considering that 1) I haven't yet and 2) it's been many years since the last post, so there's a good chance there's a new audience to reach.
First and foremost, to capture your attention here's a screenshot of the user script in action!
I've been working on this thing on and off since at least 2008. The main idea behind the user script was to facilitate better QC navigation. What you get when you install this in your GreaseMonkey-compatible browser extension is:
In the manga and anime, there's a lot of loli and shota stuff which I don't see the purpose of.
(examples: "papa's rod", the tentacle scene with Riko, naked kids in the cover art or whatever that was)
It's really distasteful and it really detracts from the beauty of the story itself. Is there a good explanation for this? Or do I just have to ignore it?
I think this one nicely sums up the path QC has taken over the years. It's thoughtful and contemplative, yet ends with a joke that is on-brand and perfectly timed.
Would love to see some other examples of this.
To be honest, I think that this rumor is false, because I don't think that Luni has done anything, nor said anything about the issue.
As of today (December 4 2019), I've noticed that Reddit and Imgur suddenly require you to create an account in order to view adult content, instead of just clicking a button that says "yes, I'm 18." Was there some recently passed law or court decision that now requires them to do this? Is this related to the COPPA decision regarding YouTube? I can't find anything on Google and don't remember any website recently emailing me to mention a change to the TOS.
I can't link the drama in which the two users were banned, since it was down before I even became aware that it was going on. Edit: Actually, I found it: https://www.ceddit.com/r/questionablecontent/comments/7u6ecc/comic_3668_letting_it_all_come_out/dtiyzlc/?context=5
After the initial ban, the banned trans woman takes her case to /r/ainbow: https://www.reddit.com/r/ainbow/comments/7udmlo/mods_of_rquestionablecontent_support_transphobic/.
The head moderator apparently repsonds, although I can't find the response anywhere, and a follow up is posted by the original user: https://www.reddit.com/r/ainbow/comments/7uk3sy/follow_up_on_rquestionablecontent_mods_and/ (fayedrus points out this thread actually happened Ed last! Sorry about getting the timeline mixed up!)
There's also an argument between the head mod and the woman who was banned inside this tread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ainbow/comments/7uk3sy/follow_up_on_rquestionablecontent_mods_and/dtlea0x/
After this, the writer of the comic, Jeph Jaques, becomes involved on twitter: https://twitter.com/jephjacques/status/959057418071236608
This leads to a thread in /r/questionablecontent about the drama: https://www.reddit.com/r/questionablecontent/comments/7uishz/jeph_jacques_strongly_positions_himself_against/, which, in turn, leads to the resignation of one of at least one of the mods in protest: https://www.reddit.com/r/questionablecontent/comments/7uishz/jeph_jacques_strongly_positions_himself_against/dtl7v93/?context=5, and in response, the subreddit's head mod says that he will not step down: https://www.reddit.com/r/questionablecontent/comments/7uishz/jeph_jacques_strongly_positions_himself_against/dtlbwxz/?context=5
Edit: DasGanon points out that /r/QContent was formed in response to all this, and that the webcomics creator endorsed this new subreddit on twitter. (https://twitter.com/jephjacques/status/959304306435407872)
