Quan Chi Puns

There's a little debate as to who should play as the character at the moment, with a few people wanting Adoni Maropis to reprise his role from Mortal Kombat Konquest.

I on the other hand, would want to give this role to another person.

Adoni Maropis was very memorable as Quan Chi, to the point where there's a petition to have him in the new movie franchise, but I don't think the studio would want their incarnation of the story to be intertwined with past iterations.

So...I thought that who could give a different yet memorable take and elevate the character more?

My pick is Mark Dacascos.

The guy still has a certain gravitas in roles, especially his role as Zero in John Wick 3.

With still retaining his martial arts skills, I feel he could fit as the character of Quan Chi.

Piece of dialogue in the MKX story

There are a few things that make me ask if it is a possibility:

1. Quan Chi is the most powerful sorcerer of unknown age that resides in the Netherrealm.
   The realm that weakens magic altogether. Could it be that Quan Chi is siphoning magic from all the Netherrealm?
2. Shinnok sent a clone to fight for him in Armageddon. Later on, his fighting variation is called impostor and he mimics other fighters. A true Elder God wouldn't have to reside to such shenanigans. But it fits Quan Chi modus operandi perfectly. (As a bonus: Shinnok was was called a 'false god' by Darkseid).
3. After Shinnok absorbs power from the Jinsei he transforms into a demon, which is strange because
   1. He is supposedly of heavenly origin
   2. all his other groteske summons ( similar to Quan Chi's lesser boostst) and obviously his bone temple, are skeletal appearances, so it would stand to reason to expect a former God of Death to have a skeletal appearance too.
   3. Quan Chi has control over Netherrealm demons.
4. The amulet always finds it's way back into the hands of Quan Chi. (During MK11 it's very well possible Quan Chi re-acquires it through D'Vorah). It is a powerful tool he first used to place Shinnok into a position of power in an attempt to eliminate the current Elder Gods. So it might not have been Shinnok's power that corrupted Raiden, but Quan Chi's.

Bonnie Bennet Vampire Diaries is a powerful witch from the bennet line who had near limitless powers.
