Pure Flix Entertainment Puns

Pure Flix, aka: Christian Netflix, is a streaming platform/movie studio that produces movies not only for Christians but for specifically right wing evangelicals.

In a perfect world, Pure Flix would only be around to provide fodder for content creators on YouTube like Amanda The Jedi, Cinema Snob, and Nick DiRamio. Or podcasts like God Awful Movies to roast the shit out of. However, we don't live in a perfect world. The company is successful and that's not a sustainable business model.

I know a lot of us are aware of this, but for those who are not, what Pure Flix will do is straight up rip-off popular shows and sitcoms that are a few years old and they'll put them through a Christian filter.

I recently saw a video from YouTuber Nick DiRamio highlighting a David A R White sitcom that was a Schitt's Creek ripoff. Now, obviously, Schitt's Creek was popular for a while. So, in the minds of the producers, this would be perfect fodder. This particular ripoff hit me hard because Schitt's Creek is one of my favorite shows of all time. Then, I saw the clips of it and I was all "look how they massacred my boy". Surface level, the thought is "this is popular, so I'm gonna steal it", but then the reasoning why Schitt's Creek becomes a target becomes especially infuriating. So, David Rose, the second best character on Schitt's Creek is pansexual and an overall great character. Not to mention being wonderful representation for the LGBTQ+ community. The evangelical smooth brains at Pure Flix find out about that and be like "oh, no, teh gayz! Can't have that in our ripoff!!"

Pure Flix shows sets are just a fucking green screen. You know that if they actually get a budget, they're gonna ripoff superhero shows like The Boys, Umbrella Academy, and Wanda Vision. Their version of the Loki series would feature a pastor who goes to different dimensions converting heathens. I know Loki had overall mixed responses from fans (personally, I loved it and think it's the best Disney Plus MCU show so far) but I think we can all agree that the Pure Flix version would be so much worse.

When you were a believer, did you actually watch Pure Flix? Did you enjoy it at the time?

If so, are they just as insufferable as I imagine they'd be?

Everytime I watch the video the ad always plays at least once. Does anybody else have this issue?

Its basically a "christian" rip off of Netflix created by David A. R. White and Russell Wolfe.

This man (White) literally writes produces directs stars in scripts everything thats offered on the platform. I stumbled upon this thing while looking through YouTube for interesting facts about movies and stumbled across this.

It is by far the most cringeworthy, unimaginative self victimizing dumpster juice I've seen this year in terms of film.

I watched a breakdown of the movie Beckman that was supposed to be a Christian version of John Wick and even from just the breakdown you can see how poorly produced written performed and executed it was.

My question to yall is, what do you think about religious based movies and pushing heavily religious narratives in movies and TV shows?

I understand that religion on its own isn't necessarily damaging and plenty of movies have religious and symbolic gestures and themes in it which isn't a big deal, but when its forcing religious ideology down your throat in every possible moment and making it more of a focus than the overall story or even more than the character, I find that to be more distracting and pointless especially if they are just using the religion as a vehicle to speak on what their beliefs are and forcing it upon the viewer.

Personally I'm not religious at all and while I don't knock anyone for being religious, I just wanted to see what yall thought of it.

I just got finished watching Rome on HBO and came across this show. Everyone said the first handful of episodes suck but I gave it a shot. Fuck that, yea maybe it’s a little cheesy at first but I’ve been glued to the screen every second.

Can’t wait to watch the rest!

Seriously, Youtube, wtf? Pure Flix ads on heavy metal videos? If I wanted to watch those hallmark rejected wastes of film, I would A: Be hammered, B: Be eviscerating them with fellow heathens, apostates, and pagans, and C: Why watch those when there are so much more enjoyable terrible movies around without the sanctimonious indoctrination. Stop shitting on Sabaton like that.

Like for real. Watching Landmark or Pestily at the start of the wipe is pure joy. They actually use bad guns, run like human players, get overweight, get killed, get afraid or feel the risk and care about what they pick up and do in general.

Watching them now they fucking fly around the 2m fences like they don't exist, run like Usain fucking Bolt, jump around like fucking goblins, haul 200 kilo every raid like it's nothing, insta searching shit, hear people from across the map, drop down from 3 stories barely taking damage. Seriously, skill system needs to be dialed WAY down.
