A list of puns related to "Project Portfolio Server"
Hey everyone, just completed my portfolio with a few projects, would love to get feedback and suggestions. Thanks in advance
Hello Algonauts!
As the title says, we're announcing our ASA Portfolio project!
If you want to go straight to our website and learn about it, visit: asaportfolio.com.
We just uploaded the first website draft, (apologies for the cheap design).
As you'll see, it's a full community-based and decentralized project, so we start with the bare minimum resources.
Our goal is to make a fully decentralized project, completely owned by the ASA community, and produce a fully operational phone app to track all the ASAs market cap, price, portfolio, evolution, etc.
Just as other portfolio and market cap phone apps you might know... but where all the ASAs get listed, so you can track all of your Algorand investments, and it will be FULLY OWNED by the community.
The token holders will not only participate in the governance of the project but also get dividends from the profits the app makes by sponsored links, ads, premium users, etc.
We're on full disclosure: you can check our LinkedIn profiles on the website.
You can already participate in the presale if you wish to. We're in contact with Algorand Foundation, who are guiding us on how to apply for the Foundation Grant Program and verifying our asset.
If you are going to pre-buy our token, make sure you got the right ACCOUNT: APFMUNO2LDZIKAJDRUFDQNADNOQYRLLBASKELIXRZIKTYSDQ2VO6EWJZ5M, ASA ID: ASA Portfolio, APF, 542132831. Double-check that you've got the right number, hackers can change it even when you copy-paste it!
As required by this subreddit, here's the link to the asset: https://algoexplorer.io/asset/542132831
Feel free to ask any questions you might have. We'll log on to our social media profiles at least once a day to try to answer all of them.
Thank you for reading!
EDIT: Thanks for the awards, the attention, and the very good questions and compliments!
I have tons of projects that I've not uploaded to GitHub, should I upload them just to have a better GitHub profile?
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, or if anyone would be interested... but I have an idea.
To start, I'm a UX/UI designer but I want to improve my front end development skills. Would anyone be interested in building my UI designs?
I was thinking you could use them as a portfolio project and I could review your code and learn how you went about completing it.
Let me know if you're interested!
Is GitHub the best way to go about this? It doesnβt seem that intuitive towards storing projects to me. Is there an alternative way?
Donβt lose sight of why youβre apart of this community! We will prevail in due time. I promise you that.
I'm looking to build a website where employers can view my coding projects. I already have most of the projects done and a website I can run locally but I don't know how to make this visible to other people. It shouldn't be anything too demanding.
Hello everyone!
This is my new portfolio piece and I have to admit that I'm so proud of it. Here you can see that I improved so much with typography and photography and overall project presentation. Feel free to leave some advices and critiques.

Hello everyone! Iβm a career changer who is two months into my first dev role. My journey included so many awesome people who gave me their time and insight along the way, and I want to pay it forward any way I can.
Context: I live in New York City, am in my late 20s, and do not have a college degree. I had always worked in the music industry and made additional income via working at music stores, catering, waiting tables etc. Like many, I lost my job(s) when Covid hit.
I decided to go for programming and begin self study. After a few months of self study, I was lucky enough to get some money from my family to attend a bootcamp. Many applications and many rejections later, here I am.
When I was in that vulnerable place, trying to decide if I should go for it or not (like you may be right now), it was hard not to be discouraged by sensationalized Reddit posts dissuading people from changing careers or attending bootcamps.
This journey is no walk in the park, I saw many people not able to take it anymore and give up. But I also saw many success stories. You just need to honestly ask yourself if you can handle it and stick with it.
That being said, I want to provide a very level headed take regarding the commonly regurgitated negative opinions that get posted.
(the following reflects only my opinions/experiences as an American looking for dev jobs in NYC / the US)
To the people deciding if they should go for it or not:
βThere are too many devs now. The market is oversaturated. It made sense to change careers ten years ago but not now.β
There sure are a lot of Jr devs looking for jobs, and it seems like 80% of job listings want a Sr or 3+ years experience. However, this is a HUGE, global industry weβre talking about with significant leniency towards remote work. The pool of possible jobs is vast. While many Jr jobs have hundreds of applicants, if you look hard enough, you can find positions at startups and smaller companies with much less competition. It may be harder to land a job than ten years ago, but itβs far from impossible. Like a wise man once said βThereβs always room for another good oneβ.
βBootcamps are a pointless waste of money. They made sense ten years ago, but now they just lie about their placement rates.β
For me, this is a hard disagree. Going from self learning for a few months to the structured learning of bootcamp was very eye opening.
I'm prepared to put in the time and effort to learn the tools and technologies, I just want to make sure I'm learning things in the most efficient order so I can land an entry level role.
If anyone can give me some guidance, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
Hello everyone,
I'm working on a project with a web app in Flask (A dashboard), which obtains a hashtag from the user and then connects to the Twitter Streaming API to obtain in real-time all the tweets that are being generated with that #. Later, they are sent to a PySpark Streaming service to do certain operations with them and finally, return the results to the dashboard client.
So far, I've been using python sockets to do all the communication (Including threading for sending/receiving the tweets and all), but I would like to know if there are other professional tools I might be missing and could make the project more professional and practical (Considering that multiple clients are expected to use the service at the same time)
Thanks!
Hi everyone. When I think of a portfolio project, I think of some impressive project with a lot of advanced features that probably took close to a year to perfect. Because of this possible misconception, I've been intimidated in terms of starting and thinking of a suitable portfolio project. Sometimes I see posts or youtube videos of projects that don't seem to take as long as I thought.
So I'm wondering how long does it take to complete a typical portfolio project and how much time a day should I dedicate to working on it?
My preferred language is C++ if that makes a difference.
I am trying to build a DE portfolio project and my idea is to build a small scale cloud-native pipeline. Can you guys recommend me approaches that might be suitable for this?
I am thinking of deploying containers that contain Data Ingestion (from Live API) scripts and dbt jobs for transformation and orchestrating it with Airflow. Is this an acceptable solution? What are the most suitable cloud providers or services that I can use to accomplish this?
Thank you!
P.S. I am more than willing to invest money to pay for the cloud costs

Hi there,
I am a total newbie and this is the first time, I am trying to create a Business Intelligence and Data Visualization portfolio. The portfolio will consist of 2-3 projects and it will be hosted on a website. The project pages will then be linked to LinkedIn. The goal is to then apply to freelancing websites like Upwork.com.
I am looking for datasets which I can use to create porftolio projects where I can show off my skills. I am looking for a website where I can find such datasets where I can choose one from. If someone here has a dataset I can use that would be great as well.
If I had to narrow down my interest, I would say that my primary interest is providing small businesses business intelligence services as a freelancer. So a dataset of a small business where I can create a dashboard along with a business intelligence report is the best fit.
I have about 7 professional design & illustration projects in my portfolio, but I'd like to replace one of the existing projects with something that truly emphasizes my personal style.
I have some ideas brewing for a cafe rebrand, but I don't know if it would be stupid to replace a "real" project with a passion project..does that make sense?
What do y'all think? Would a recruiter write me off for a passion project?
Iβm skilled with Python, have some experience with machine learning, web development with flask, and SQL.
What are some good projects I can make that really showcase my skills that I can put in a portfolio?
I'm trying to move out of purely production based jobs and into more design heavy roles. I'd love to work for an agency. I'm not proud of the work I've done for clients so far in my career and I don't think those projects will get me where I want to be. I see a lot of talk online about adding fictitious projects to your portfolio which seems like it would be a good idea in my case. I am however worried that a hiring manager will see having multiple fictitious projects in my portfolio as a red flag.
1.Do you disclose that they're not real client/projects?
I rushed my last project so there is a lot of boilerplate, it was a full Jeopardy game for my brother for christmas though I want it to be the second main project in my portfolio, wondering if is worth it to condense the code or should I just focus on making it look nice cause there is not much css at all in it now.
Hello Everyone,
Here is an update on my post made 12/29/2021 and 1/1/2022
I would like to preface this entire bit of information by saying that I am not encouraging anyone to buy anything. I am simply just shedding light on some projects within the ecosystem that I personally go involved with. Make sure to do your own research and be careful out there!

Artemis Protocol (MIS)
>Presenting Artemis, a multi-product Decentralized Finance protocol built on the Harmony Blockchain that strives to incubate those said components that build up composability: the projects and ideas. By bootstrapping these projects in a permissionless and decentralized manner by providing liquidity and exposure as a service, Artemis aims to solve what might be called the βliquidity dilemmaβ, that is, creating forms of on-chain liquidity without sacrificing the network's decentralization - while offering attractive yields for risk-keen users.
We intend to create a broader range of network effects, rather than limiting the protocol to a single solution, achieved by building an ecosystem of built-in products and partnerships with different protocols built on Harmony.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβm in my second to last year of undergrad studying architecture, so whenever I apply to a job the requested/required documents are my cover letter + resume + portfolio/condensed work sample. I wasnβt getting any responses to job applications so my parents convinced me to hire a resume writer, who was insistent that I put a section into my resume that was just a summary of the projects in my portfolio. Do I actually need it?
Hey guys Stabila are innovative project they have blockchain where you track any transaction on their platform #Stabila #STB #Blockchain #Decentralized
It seems redundant to link to projects in two separate places, but at the same time I want to make it as easy as possible for people looking through it.
