A list of puns related to "Pro Tools"
So since tommorow is black friday, Im looking to get some of the developers tools that I using with a discount. So far I've been eyeing GitKraken and also maybe some premium comopnent library for React and Vue (might go for TailwindUI). I wonder if there any tools that are really worth paying for that you would recommend for a webdev (using python/js for backend and vue/react for frontend).
What are your recommandations?
I can handle Power BI desktop very well. I can do whole full stack development all way from loading data, cleaning to visualize data. It does not matter what business type or what things has to be analyzed I can handle it just if the client has proper information what he need or what he wanna see. I can do some calculations and Dax formula as well.
But lately Iβve been seen in some thread that a tool are not enough and someone had to also know to understand the business and the requirements and also telling story from the data. And itβs here I become a confused. I ask that because I wanna become a better BI analyst and always be the one that has value to offer.
What makes a good data analytics? Is that combination between hard and soft skills?
Could be anything you found to make your life easier or even just a really cool thing you found that you wish others to know about!
For me its more for beginners but Dough Milford's rust tutorials were great for understanding Rust's core concepts https://youtu.be/lQ7XF-6HYGc
hey guys I recently bought the pro tools perpetual license and im just confused on what the yearly 200 dollar software update and support is. The forums on Avid website is pretty ambiguous, why would I pay 200 every year and not just pay for when a important update comes out? Coming from a daw like fl studio this seems like a lot of money for very minor compensation. Is a tech support and a couple updates all im getting for 200 dollars a year?
This is only happening for one song. I have imported audio from an Ableton Live Session to Pro Tools before and it worked perfectly. There were no audio tracks used. All midi instruments. Iβm moving the song from a MacBook Pro to a Mac Mini running an older OS.
Who has it? Is it worth getting in regards to creating business? Do you get clients specifically looking for accreditation? Interested to see if itβs worth doing.
I mainly use Ableton for music production, but just started a podcast editing job. I haven't used Pro Tools for 4 years, and now I think I need it for editing. The editing job is pretty simple work, and I'm wondering if it is worth upgrading. The type and search plugin function looks good, but is there a major difference in editing dialogues?
Thanks.
Edit: I am sorry that I completely forgot to ask what I was gonna ask. I have Pro Tools 12 and am wondering if upgrading (buying) Pro Tools 12 to the latest version is worth it for dialogue editing. 2021 version looks good that you can just type plugins to load, but I'm wondering if it has more benefit in editing.
Thanks!
I've owned Pro Tools since purchasing my Digi 001 in 2001...always vanilla Pro Tools, never HD or Ultimate, and I've never surrendered or changed my license. Always Perpetual, always Standard.
I've always kept up-to-date on my perpetual Support Plan, and before the price went up a few years back, I stocked up on a few extensions at $99/yr. Those took me through last week, when I had to make my very first perpetual Support Plan renewal at $199.
I then updated my iLok...and things look a little different. "Pro Tools Plan" has headed to Unavailable...replaced with "Pro Tools Perpetual Bundle (with 10/11/12)" and "Pro Tools Ultimate Perpetual Bundle (with 10/11/12+I/O)
Today, I opened Pro Tools for the first time since the renewal and apparently I now have Pro Tools Ultimate?! Can that be right?
The Release Limit for "Pro Tools Perpetual Bundle" is "Versions released on or before 01/12/22" (which was the date of my previous plan expiration) and for "Pro Tools Ultimate Perpetual Bundle" is "Versions released on or before 01/11/23" (the date of my current plan expiration).
Seems weird to me...possibly lucky, but weird...
I currently am running High Sierra 10.13.6 with Pro Tools 11.3.1 and getting constant crashes because it is unsupported. So I need to upgrade my OS and Pro Tools to eliminate these crashes.
My 2015 Macbook Pro specs are: Intel Core i7, Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz, Number of Cores: 4, 16 gb ram, 1000 gb ssd.
What is the best OS and Pro Tools to use with my 2015 Macbook Pro?
A couple of side questions: I recently I installed windows 10 installed on this computer usings 100 gbs of the hard drive. Will this Pro Tools performance in a negative way?
Should I record directly onto my computers hard drive or onto a external ssd? I currently own a glyph ssd raid that I am using for time machine and to store my album on that was recorded elsewhere. I am trying to finish the recording in my home studio.
Does the OS and Pro Tools version you choose affect sound quality at all? I am only using analog gear on the front end.
Thanks!
When the plague hit I decided to bet on a home studio since I'd be spending more time at home. It's been a blast and I've decided to pursue it as a career.
Anyone have any clue how to fix corrupted wav files from a Pro Tools session? I believe it has something to do with rebuilding the header of the wav file. I have 5 sessions of recordings all full of suddenly corrupted audio files. These files still appear in the audio files folder within the session folders, and appear to still have all the information there in the file size, but can't be opened by Pro Tools properly. They appear as scrambled white noise and glitching sounds, and Pro Tools says they appear corrupted when I try to reopen the sessions.
Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks
What the title says. Just looking for an analog to the iFixit Pro kit but of actual high quality (bits that won't break/deform, etc.)
Complete Logic Pro Tutorial Series!
Happy new year everybody.
I added another video on the series but this one comes with a bit of an intro.
One question I get often is
βHow do I improve my workflow?β
The no brainer answer is keyboard shortcuts. But everyone knows that.
The answer that most donβt know is, Marquee tool!
This tool will elevate your workflow. It can create a playing point, do most edits, cut, copy, move, delete, make flex and automation much faster to use.
And yet, most users only use 5-10% of what this tool can do.
If you start incorporating this tool in your workflow, you will do certain tasks 2-3 times faster.
In this video I cover everything about the Marquee except flex and automation (These will be covered in the flex and automation videos!).Learn to use this tool! You wonβt regret it.
Itβs a 15-minute video, but worth it!

So I recently got a perpetual license for pro tools 12.8.3 from a studio and I'm trying to install it onto windows 11. It installs fine on my Windows 10 device but I keep getting errors when installing on Windows 11.
Has anyone tried/is using pro tools 12.8.3 with windows 11?
I have the latest version working fine (minus the included addons which won't install) on windows 11 (year sub) but wish to get my perpetual licence working so I can continue working once my sub runs out as I don't wish to renew (it's just a hobby, not a job).
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I've been working with audio for 15+ years now, and have jumped between many DAWs. Now that I'm working in the TV world, it's become apparent that I need to make Pro Tools my primary DAW. I've gotten to know it decently well at this point as I prepared tracking sessions for work, but in terms of my own speed/workflow, it doesn't compare to the others I use.
What I'm missing are keyboard shortcuts! I tried looking them up in the PTs manual, but the list they provide is overwhelming. So I thought I'd ask here, what are your most used pro tools shortcuts?
This has bothered me for many years now. I have tried different methods of rendering and exporting, but the result is always slightly different from the session playback. The difference is predictable, but I would prefer to hear exactly what I'm getting. What could cause this?
Hello!
Got my first outboard gear stereo compressor set up to have a swing with on the mix bus. I have output 3-4 on my interface going out into the compressor and back in 3-4 on the interface, which is an 18i20 by the way.
I went into Pro Tools I/O went to insert 3-4 gave it a name. went to my mix bus, click 'insert' I/O - chose the dedicated 3-4 (with name) and sure enough, the comp is lit up and seemingly working. I could monitor volumes, ratio changes and balance changes when I made them on the compressor. All working...well...smoothly!
So I know this will seem weird...but...what the heck have I missed? I was expecting to put hours aside to get this thing hooked up but it worked...first time. My main confusion is, I haven't assigned anything coming back in...and yet I can absolutely hear the changes on the comp happen when I physically change them...so how does it know? Perhaps it's really obvious and I've missed it!
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Spelling
OK I have Pro Tools HD (not yet upgraded to Pro Tools Ultimate) at a production house I work at. It's great for freezing/capturing EQ for a specific sound. Sorry I'm not sure of the exact terminology but essentially I can have one audio track with multiple audio on it, each with its own EQ settings (well, processing settings in general ie: compression, de-esser etc). My question is is there a way to do this in normal Pro Tools, you know the cheap version? I'm aware you can record automation but I'm wanting a static EQ setting, I don't need the freq bands moving around or anything.
What plugins should I use to edit my bass after recording?

My dad's pro tools sessions with video tracks no longer properly works. He gets an "Error launching video engine" popup message. We tried so many different things to get it working again, following lots of different workarounds found online. Finally I came across this Avid page: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Troubleshooting/PT-Video-Engine-Installation-Windows?retURL=%2Fpkb%2Fapex%2FKB_Render_Download%3Fid%3DkA25A00000034Gg%26lang%3Dja_17_1_2_1_2_2_2_2&popup=true#:~:text=Go%20to%20Control%20panel%20%3E%20select,from%20the%20Pro%20Tools%20Utilities.&text=The%20Avid%20Video%20Engine%20Install,2. and followed those steps. Unfortunately once uninstalling the video engine and attempting to reinstall using the listed steps, that file/folder was not found in the system. So we haven't been able to reinstall the video engine. I'm not having very good luck searching and finding a way to reinstall the video engine. I've been reading that you have to reinstall all of Pro Tools, but my dad really wants to avoid doing that. Why did this Avid webpage lead us down this path that doesn't actually work? What do we do? Thanks.
Pro Tools First doesn't seem to be anywhere on the Avid website. Are they not offering it anymore? Is there any information on this somewhere?
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, I was in the studio printing stems, then I sent the new session with the printed stems to my laptop. Iβve opened the session and the audio files are unlinked. How can I fix this?
I can't for the life of me figure out why there isn't sound. I've spent the last couple of hours scouring tutorials and none of those fixes apply to me. I have managed to set up my audio interface correctly, a Behringer UC22 (Or atleast, according to the tutorials I have followed), and can hear my guitar being played through my headphones, and have the ability to succesfully record. Playback, however, is another matter entirely. The tracks are there and the soundwaves are moving but I can't hear shit. When my audio interface wasn't set up I could hear the sound in protools but not in anything else (I.E watching tutorials on youtube), but now it's the opposite. I think I have the outputs set correctly (again, atleast according to the tutorial I followed). I do have the latest drivers installed. My only theory is that Pro Tools is set to another output? But the tracks IN pro tools are set to my audio interface? I have tried setting the output of the tracks to my computer monitor and the input to my audio interface. No luck there. I'm getting pissed off with all this malarkey and just wanna shred over some backing tracks I made. I also just tried using ASIO4ALL drivers, and that give me sound, but reduces it to what can only be described as a sequence of ticks or static set to the rhythm of the backing track.
ANY help would be appreciated, thanks :)
(Using Pro Tools First)
My pro tools is always freezing. It used to never freeze. I dont know what happened. It has nothing to do with buffer size or the size of projects. It does it on all projects of all sizes and sample rates. Any one know what the problem could be. Im on pro tools 10 on windows 10
Hi all, Iβm trying to create a simple menu in shortcuts using Tool box pro that will create a menu with a list of items that I can then select which will then perform an action.
Maybe itβs a list of webpages that when clicked on will open in a web browser or a selection of apps. Iβm using toolbox pro as Iβd like the list of items to have icons next to them. Hereβs what I have so far, but doesnβt seem to be working. The list only has 2 items at the moment however Iβd like to add some more once I have this working correctly. Again Iβm brand new to this so Iβm sure Iβm making some silly mistakes here, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I recently bought a v49 and it says that it included, pro tools first but i donβt see where to download it
Im really not trying to hate on pro tools, its amazing software and I still use Pro Tools 11 on a regular basis for editing and exporting files so that I can mix in Logic x.
But with software like Logic X that pale in comparison cost wise and can do nearly everything that pro tools can, and without the headache of trying to deal with Avid and their subscription plans. Im honestly curious if it just comes down to workflow and it being the industry standard that keeps people loyal?
If there are other reasons to justify the cost and effort to keep using it at a professional level I would love to know them.
I struggle to believe that one software just sounds better than another. I think there is something to be said about all DAW's having a different sound, but I attest that to beeing the way their stock plugins/synths sound. If im using all the same plugins and all the same audio files im thinking everything should sound the same....but im happy to admit being wrong.
10/20/21 Iβd like to reiterate that this is not a bash on pro tools. Iβm simply posing the question as to why people are still using it over much cheaper alternatives that perform relatively the same tasks. I have enjoyed seeing the feedback from everyone!
