Before I even begin,I am in no ways trying to insult any ethnicity/ culture. I just saw the "Happy birthday PNS" post had some hateful comments. To me it looked like some of them were newars who hold a grudge against PNS for colonizing Nepal and killing many newari people. I just want to know the thoughts of the newari people on these matter. No ill intentions. I just want to have a civil discussion.
From what I've read about him, he conquered Nepal by being deceiving people who trusted him.
STORY:
So, Baba Gorakhnath was one of the followers of Matsyendra Nath(the same matsyendra nath which newars worship). He was meditating in a cave near Gorkha palace and he saw a playful child roaming arouund, the child was PN Shah. He asked young PN Shah to bring some curd. The prince rushed to the palace and and asked his mother to give him some curd as alm to the saint few minutes later he came there with curd as asked by the saint. The saint took the curd in his mouth and spat those on the hands of PN Shah. PN Shah was confused by this then the saint asked him to eat up the curd.
PN SHAH then threw the curd off his hand out of disgust and all the curd miraculously landed on his ten toes.
On seeing this Baba Gorakh Nath said, "If you had swallowed this then every words spoken by you would have come to reality but it landed on your feet so every land that you step on will be yours, you disobeyed me and these curd landed on your ten toes as a result your generation will only rule over this kingdom for ten upcoming generation and they will be dethroned because of their anger."
He instead named the country after another kingdom that he had conquered
I myself didn't knew most of things. You guys should give it a thorough read. Its interesting and I don't think we have much information in our school's textbooks.

Hi /r/nepal!
Any idea how tall PN Shah was? His palaces have fairly low ceilings, don't they?
