A list of puns related to "Presidential Name"
I was going to put a lot of emojis in my flair of my favorite presidents, but I couldn't, because the emoji names are too long. I propose this simple and shorter naming system:
All of these names aren't obscure to anyone who would indulge in this sub.

Be civil. I understand that politics are emotional and passionate, but this is not about personal opinions on these men, this is just about their first names. As it is, naming your child after a US President is an existing trend and does give them a powerful namesake. Presidents also often popularize the usage of their names. Calvin reached its most popularity peak in 1924 and Grover reached its popularity peak in 1885.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Thereβs always been the βpresidential name testβ (introducing...President your name here!), but I thought it would be interesting to look at kids of US presidents, numbered by president, presented as sibling pairs (I did not include most middle names, because some were unclear, but there are some first name middle name gem pairings). (source: Wikipedia)
I like names that are less common but familiar and easy to spell/remember- for our baby boy my front runner is Beckett nn Beck. Levi and Eli also go really well with our last name (long βeβ sound, L sounds). I would love to stay out of the top 10 at the least, out of the top 100 if possible (older sisters names are #251 and #562). My husband wants something βpresidential.β He wants something like Henry, Charles, or John. He would also like something Biblically linked if possible.
Any ideas on how we can meet in the middle??

the legend of "king diyasen"
I dunno, this just occurred to me, I guess. I'm assuming some stuff like "He governs so well, it's even in his name!" would be everywhere.
Just kinda feels like a no-brainer.
I assume that all the African-American Washingtons and Jeffersons arenβt descended from Washington and Jeffersonβs estates, and at some point they chose those names after gaining their freedom. But why?
Were newly-freed African-Americans big fans of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Johnson, and Jackson? And if they were choosing Presidential surnames intentionally because they liked them, why arenβt there more black Lincolns? Would Johnson have been popular among former-slaves during his presidency? Why name themselves after Jackson, who happily participated in slavery and hardly seems like someone they would see as an ally?
Or was there a potentially subversive element to their decision to embrace Presidential names? Making the last name of notable slave-owning politicians become primarily associated with descendants of slaves seems kind of like it could have been potentially spite-driven and empowering, like claiming the name of your oppressors and making it your own or something?
