A list of puns related to "Power Noise"

Hello all,
As the title says, I have gigabit internet through RCN and an Arris Surfboard SB8200. I have tried restarting the modem, replugging the coax cable, factory resetting it, calling the ISP and having them send a reset signal, etc. Sometimes the speed goes back up to gigabit temporarily (around 980Mbps) but always drops down to 30-35Mbps randomly. I've had the service work pretty much flawlessly for the past year. I have isolated this to the modem by plugging my ethernet directly into the modem output instead of the router.
The ISP said they could send someone over to troubleshoot but if the problem is on my end they'll charge me $80. So I went on Arris' troubleshooting website and found that they have certain criteria for power and SNR ranges. Here's their website: https://arris.secure.force.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SB8200-Troubleshooting-Internet-Connectivity
Here is the screenshot I took from my Modem's page: https://i.imgur.com/8zIjljO.png
Looking at the data on my modem's page, the downstream SNR and power seem to be fine for all channels EXCEPT channel 159 which has a modulation of "other" and an SNR of approx 15. I read that this is the gigabit channel (is that true).
Additionally, the power criteria for all the Upstream channels seem to be out of range (low).
So is this an issue with my modem or is this an ISP issue? Will I benefit from having the ISP send someone over or should I claim Arris warranty?
Thank you!
Edit: Solved! I had to call the service tech. The explanation I got from the tech was that whoever performed the initial install put this attenuator on the modem which reduced the signal strength. Probably because the signal was too strong back then. Not that it's normal, it was suppressing the signal to barely readable levels. https://imgur.com/a/pSmvdJN
Installed 8gb of ram, computer is now making a beeping noise when I start up
The pattern is
1 beep
3 beeps
2 beeps
I have no idea what to do and am incredibly passed off right now because stupid bullshit happens every time I change a part with my computer
https://youtu.be/YDNEeaCB4vg here's what's happening
So all my builds generally involve a polarity protection diode and a fat 100uF cap across the rails to filter power line noise.
Even with this, though, I feel like my pedals are noisier than commercial pedals. In particular, I seem to be getting a high whine coming through the power lines. Using better power supplies helps, but even so I wonder if there's more I can do to help my pedals be quieter?
Yes so, it's pretty clear I think.
I use to play through my PC (guitar->audio interface->PC->audio interface->headphones) and I usually don't have troubles with noise, except for the heavy tones. Let me explain: when I play with distortion and these kind of effects, I get a very annoying noise (in the range of mid-high frequencies) and I figured out that this noise comes from the PC I'm playing through.
How I figured out: I played through my laptop with a considerable lower level of noise. Then I powerd my PC on, and the noise I heard through the laptop increased significantly.
So I think my noise problem is because of the cheap power source of my desktop PC, emmiting some harmonics for the commuted source into the space and into the PC that are audible, thus my question is what power source do you use to play/record through PC? If you have any other solution than buying a new power source I'd appreciate it too.
Maybe I'm not in the correct subreddit, if so I'm sorry, I just found it appropiate to ask some guitarrists if they have had troubles with this and how they resolved it.
Thanks for your answers :D

My power steering system is leaking from one of the hoses (return hose I think) and so the pump is making a horrible noise when I turn the wheels. When I add more power steering fluid, it becomes quiet and all works fine, but it continues to leak out and make a mess under my car, so after a month, the noise comes back and I have to refill it again. I'm thinking of deleting my power steering by removing the pump and just looping the power steering hoses. However, until I get to that, I would really like my car to not sound like it wants to die whenever I'm in a parking lot. Would removing the belt make the noise stop?
This is my daily driver and a mechanic shop inspected it and quoted me $1100 to replace my power steering system. I have the money, but this is such an old car that I'm not sure it's worth it to pay for this repair, especially since it's not a necessary/crucial repair, like a timing belt or transmission. Not that I think they're ripping me off or anything, but technically my car & I can live without this, right?? The whole point of driving this car is to be frugal and save money. I maintain the car very well, but this part just gave out on me and I've decided to live without power steering. Just trying to find a way to stop the noise and the leak in an effective and budget friendly way. Thank you!

Iβm completely deaf when I power off, but I βhearβ these noises that Iβve grown used to. Iβm just wondering, have you guys experienced this? If so, what is it, your brain making noises?
I have been looking at buying a lab system, and noticed a lot of ex-lease servers (mostly Dell/HP) are available .. Predominantly in 1U profile
I'm looking at a core count of 16 - 20 (2 x 8 - 10 core CPUs) and ~ 256GB of RAM, with a handful of Hard Drives and a PCI add-in card with a NVM drive
My experience (from a long time ago) is a 1U system is typically noisier than a similarly equipped 2U system, as the fans need to work harder in the lower profile.
Is this still the case?
Also, will a 2U system (with similar CPU/memory/drives) use more power?
I'll start by saying that I'm glad I decided to try a Wyze cam after using Google Nest cams. The value with Wyze is amazing, and I'm not missing any features so far. Awesome.
That said, I've only bought one cam so far to test the waters, and the usb power brick generates a high pitched buzzing noise whenever it's connected to power. Is this common to see with their power bricks? I've switched it to an iPhone charger and there are no issues, wondering if I need to plan on buying separate power supplies or if this is likely a one-off quality issue.
I have a AT2020 microphone and a Neweer NW-100 phantom power source. Whenever I power the phantom power source I immediately get static noise, and when I unplug it it disappears, although my mic will stop being powered after about 10 seconds. Any fixes?
Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, it apparently has no problem with.
Is it telling me to quit?
Hi. I got a huge issue that only intensified itself more in the past few days. I cannot find anything on the internet about something similar, all I get is some buzzing or coil whine explanations and nothing like what I am experiencing.
PSU makes weird sound nobody I know has heard of, PC bluescreened, proceeds to lag and freeze along in rhytm of the sound. Sound goes away and comes back whenever it wants. Considering buying a new PSU. Is this one close to dying? Should I unplug it immediately? Any new PSU recommendations under 120$? (very tight budget currently, no RGB needed just need more power than my specs currently need as I want to upgrade my PC in the near-ish future) Maybe it's a different component messing things up?
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
CPU: I5-3470
RAM: 10GB DDR3
PSU: Aerocool E80-700 80+ Bronze (The very old, light gray metal version, not newer black)
This sound has been going on for around a year, but has gotten very bad few days ago.
The sound used to come up every now and then with no freezes nor lag. I thought it was my HDD slowly failing, as it writes and reads very slowly now and when I open the disk assigned to it, it takes a few solid seconds before it loads.
3 days ago however the sounds became much more common, much more severe. My PC started to freeze whenever the sound would come up and sound from my headphones would also cut off for half a second. I, again brushed it off to be the same HDD but very close to dying. The lags and sounds became so annoying to the point that I decided to completely unplug the HDD off and that's when I found out the sound was not coming out of it at all. I listened a bit and the sound was coming out of my PSU. I looked at my monitor and got a bluescreen with the code "Memory management" or something like that, which means it is tied to the ram but based on what I heard from the PSU I highly doubt it.
I restarted my PC. The sound would continue and my PC would lag sooo badly. I could not open any programs at all because of all the lag, and instead of loading the OS in few seconds like it always used to it took a whole minute. I also think my PC fans went on full power, though I'm not sure about that. I just remember the PC being louder than usual (open case so volume changes are pretty noticeable)
I turned it off completely and used my phone to seek help around the internet. Haven't found anything like this though a
