Ancient Indians fired burnished clay pottery with some carbon based stuff on the inside. The carbon was integrated into the pottery, so the inside of the pots had a hard, strong, shiny black surface. Good for cooking! Turns out this is because the process made carbon nanotubes.

My first embroidery project based on the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi where broken pottery is repaired with gold to make it more valuable and stronger. I have been a cross stitcher for a few years but I am finding I like embroidery more. It's like drawing with string.

Pottery shards should be biome exclusive, based on ancient civilizations found in that biome
In jungles, you find Mayan and Aztec art styles
In deserts, you find hieroglyphics and Arabic art styles
In coastal areas, you find Greek and Phoenician art styles
The list could go on and on...
Also there should still be some generic shards found in all biomes

Iβm thinking about selling my first mask, the materials Iβm using are pottery plaster, mask latex, 10 lbs of monster clay, and latex based paint. What would be the appropriate price. (This is the most recent picture I own, the mask looks a lot better)

Pottery classes? And also donation based yoga? New to area
Hello!
Just moved to the area and am interested in taking some classes. Anyone have any recommendations for a pottery studio that offers affordable classes? Also there are many yoga studios, any recs in terms of donation-based community yoga classes/studios?
I recognize that things may be different now, so would be interested in hearing both pre- and during COVID recommendations.
Thanks in advance!!

TIL that the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer (Kintsukuroi) is based on the philosophy that the object is more beautiful because it was broken

My pottery business is based in a "made-to-order" model.
A few weeks ago this was my strenght. Now is a financial hazard. I carry very little stock which probably be sold out by the end of the week. Any ideas on how to approach this challenge? Somebody in the same situation?

What would you call a Decor style that is very natural, worldly and travel-based? For example, plants and books along with African baskets, Greek pottery, maybe some trial masks- things that you would pick up along your travels. Iβve seen the style a few times, but what would it be called?? Thanks.

Back in 2012, during my middle school years, I made a vase based on TF2βs βMeet The Pyroβ. 6 years later, while cleaning out my closet since Iβm moving, I found it again. Itβs not too bad considering I was 14 at the time and was very clueless about pottery.

I'm stumped! Could he be from James Hadley for Royal Worcester Countries of the World Series? Thought of those due to the sort of hexagonal base & the bisque(y) chalky pottery material! He's quite light & 8 inches tall. No mark.Bought at auction in a mixed lot of figurines, Im from Leeds, England.
