How to build a positive relationship with food?
Preface: Food and I have never had a good relationship. I used to be on a medication for epilepsy (topomax) that made me have no appetite and mentally despise food. I literally could not feel hunger for 15 years on this med. I only knew I was hungry bc I was anxious, irritable, or light headed. I would smoke weed to stimulate appetite and feel hungry before meals. Now I am off this medication, and idk how to have a healthy relationship with food.
Now: Sometimes I binge and feel guilt and shame. Other times I restrict. I HATE the feeling of fullness.. so usually only eat enough to stop my hunger cues. But then it leads me to eat every 2 hours so I feel like I am overeating (though I am probably not since it is so little each time) and feel deep shame. Fullness feeling reminds me of vomiting for some reason? I don't like eating in front of others. I feel like I bother people with my chewing and swallowing sounds or people will judge me for what/how I eat so I prefer to eat alone.
Tldr: I need tips for building a healthy relationship with food.
