A list of puns related to "Porter Cable"
Iβve noticed they are disappearing from shelves around my town. Are they going out or are more companies pushing their products?
Porter Cable 21 degree framing nail gun (350b)
The manual states when there are 4 nails left in the magazine that the nail lock out device will prevent the nailer from driving any more fasteners...and then says when unloading and loading the magazine always make sure these 4 nails have been removed.
But the manual also states that more than one clip of nails can be inserted into the magazine.
I am confused by this (it's my first time using a framing nail gun).
The wording leads me to believe that one simply cannot put in a full clip of nails behind a first clip that is now down to 4 nails since it says "when unloading and loading...make sure these 4 nails have been removed" But it also says more than one clip can be put into the magazine at a time. So would that mean when the first clip is down to 4 nails that it has to be removed? surely not, right...so how would that be any different than putting a full clip behind 4 nails.
I know I'm probably over thinking this.

For what it's worth I asked the company and they said to remove the 4 nails even with a new clip. It just seems weird to me and maybe someone provided me with an overly cautious answer.
The tool starts up nicely then the blade simply stops when it meets a 2x4 ...or any other wood . What up? Help
I currently have a Wen 3920, but I donβt have the pinless blade adapters and canβt seem to find any for sale online. I figure I can probably get $50-75 out of the Wen on Facebook Marketplace, and then I can put some money with it to get a better saw. Iβm not quite to the Dewalt level yet (in terms of skill or willingness to plop down 5 bills), so Iβm looking for a slight upgrade to either the Ryobi 16-inch ($169) or Porter Cable 18-inch ($259). Is the PC worth the extra hundred?
Iβve been looking for deals on Facebook, but havenβt come across anything in the last few weeks. I need to pull the trigger sooner rather than later in order to make some Christmas presents, so waiting patiently for a deal isnβt really in the cards.
Any other suggestions in the $100-$200 range would also be welcome. Just as long as it accepts pinless blades.
I just scored a corded Porter Cable model 360 for $40 at a thrift store. The label claims it has dust collection system but where old pictures online show the dust sock connecting, there is just a stopped up hole. There didn't appear to be a way to remove it, but it will pop in about a half inch if it is pushed. It only pops back with a thumping. I've found manuals online but there's nothing in them about removing anything before attaching the dust sock.
Is there some magic Porter-Cable secret move for this?
The dust collection system is mentioned on page 8 of the manual here.

They're pretty inexpensive compared to other options. I wanna get the 20v impact. I heard lots of mechanics love them but also heard they're cheap pieces of shit. If I have to baby the tool that's fine haha I just want something reliable that has some power
The one with the drill, saw, etc. There's like five different tools in it for about $230. Wondering how good these are.

So I want to discuss something for a hot minute. Porter cable as we all know is a tool brand owned by Stanley black & decker. They make power tools, hand tools, air compressors, bits, and others. Recently, there have been lots of complaints of why Stanley b&d βgave upβ on porter cable. So far, porter cable has been releasing 0 tools and innovating nothing. Most of their power tools are brushed, they advertise 10 year old power tools on their Instagram, and they straight up lie about things. Part of this might be because craftsman is being worked on too much and porter cable forgot about, I donβt know. But at this point, porter cable is a dying brand and might become a zombie brand in the future. My guess is that someone is going to buy porter cable from Stanley b&d, which isnβt going to be good for the company. Not even Loweβs want them at this point because kobalt already beat them.
Morning. I currently own a PC 690LR (1.75hp fixed base), and I'm picking up a used 6902 this afternoon with both fixed and plunge bases. I'm assuming since they're both 690 series routers, the only difference is the bases?
