I'm not 100% sure if this is the right spot but ya'll have been amazing in the past - happy to try a different sub if there is one better. I'll also keep looking.
I have a nephew who is in need of high-priority mental health help - but the costs for his family are too high.
His parents are not his legal parents - they took him in to get him out of a toxic home life, but he is a blood relative to one of them. Because of this he does not qualify to be added to their insurance. I am starting to help them look into adult adoption, so that's our long-term plan right now.
He is 19 years old with a medical diagnosis for disassociative identity disorder. He is unemployed because his family and doctors state one of his alters would be unable to perform tasks for most jobs. He is also trans.
They have tried and been denied Medicaid and disability.
He is in a dangerous mental-health state at the moment and needs in-patient care.
Again, we do have a long-term plan for adult adoption but that's a process that also requires reaching out to his birth parents and costs to hire a lawyer.
Any info or resources would be amazing. I am doing some savage googling in the meantime.
How to explain this? Not sure if it's a political move, or just a little person syndrome thing, but there is a new person in upper management who doesn't like me apparently. I have never sat and talked to this person, they have never even introduced themselves, but they are blocking my advancement.
So, I am halfway through the hours for my "C" license and am looking for a plant to take me on so I can finish my hours and get my license. Anyone have resources I can tap to start finding a new place to work?
