Where to buy fish for Sushi or Poke Bowls?
Hi Team,
So as far as I understand, sushi fish is just frozen for a certain length of time to make sure parasites and the like are all dead. I was wondering if anyone regularly makes poke bowls and sushi, and what is the best way to do it?
Is it to buy frozen fish and thaw it out? Should I buy fresh fish from the Coop, freeze it and then thaw it? Can I just ask for "sushi" fish at a local grocery?
I love pokebowls but don't wana spend 16$ every time I wana eat one.

I donβt know what a poke bowl is (nor how to pronounce it) but thanks to inspiration from this group I made my own version of a fish bowl. Or whatever itβs supposed to be. How did I do? (Salmon, tomatoes, lettuce, red onion, mushrooms, corn & black bean medley with a bit of honey mustard dressing)

Hi. I am rather new to the Frankfurt/GieΓen area and I come from California. I am really missing sushi/poke bowls. Are there places to buy sashimi-grade fish for me to make at home? I doubt Rewe or Edeka have this but really have no idea where to look. Anywhere north of Frankfurt from Niederursel to GieΓen is preferable if there are specific one-location-only places. And sorry if this has previously been asked, but I searched and did not find anything specific to the area I need.

More update: so I bought coco fiber for my Walmart snail rescue friend and I found an old fish tank. The problem is I found out parts of the lid are missing and wonβt fit. Can I cut a plastic bag and poke holes in it and tape it on the top? (Also need help with decor)
