I feel that this fun little gadget is overused and overpowered to the point of being a dues ex machina. Do you know of any alternatives? With Kirk and Janeway running around with these little things, it really prevents a lot of interesting cross-species interactions, specifically the language barriers.
I'm thinking about changing my android smartphone with small computer and a dumb phone. If it can be under 250$ and have phiscal keyboard.
I wanna add a small multitool to my gig bag for emergency instrument setups that can cut guitar, bass strings and maybe some cabling.
Looking at the Leatherman PS style, Leatherman Skeletool or SOG Powerpint.
Anyone have experience with these and would their smaller wire cutters work for this application?

Apparently I look at my phone when I'm bored, even mid-conversation. It's offended a lot of my relatives, and I just now found out. It's apparently been going on for years.
I want to try a stim toy I can keep in my pocket to pull out instead of my phone, but I don't want a fidget spinner because of the stigma (my relatives don't really want to understand autism).

This week's batch features 10 pocket-sized pens from the 1910s-20s made by Waterman and Parker. Nibs range from Flex to Superflex. There are several pens in truly exceptional cosmetic condition here. Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs installed in the last couple weeks. Each of these pens is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other problems. Nibs have been adjusted when necessary to ensure that all lay down a smooth and consistent line.

Line Widths and Writing Samples: To provide buyers with as much information as possible, I have started to adopt the following line width standards: XXF (.1-.2mm); XF (approx .3mm); F (approx .4mm); M (approx .6mm); B (approx .8mm). Nib flexibility is determined by variation (max line width under pressure) and softness (amount of pressure). Flexibility designations based on variation generally run as follows for an XF/F nib: Semi-Flex (approx. 1mm); Flex (1.2-1.9mm); Superflex (>2mm). All line width measurements are taken with a digital caliper but should be considered approximations providing a general guide. Width may vary slightly depending on type of ink and paper used as well as amount of pressure applied. All writing samples are on Rhodia dot paper using Waterman Serenity Blue.
