A list of puns related to "Plan Xvii"
What if France had actually been able to break through the German lines and capture Alsace and Lorraine, pushing all the way to the Sarre (and potentially to the Rhine)? How would the war unfold and how would it change the succeeding years?
We all know that the French and the Germans both had plans to invade the other upon the declaration of war in 1914, and that neither of these plans worked. A lot of what ifs tend to focus on the German side of things in the World Wars, so how about a what if coming from a different direction?
What if the French with British support had developed a superior offensive doctrine in the lead up to war, which allowed their Plan XVII to succeed in breaking through to a line running from Malmedy to Trier to Strasbourg (see image below)? How does the war play out on German soil? Where does the front stabilise if at all? What happens to the Schlieffen Plan?

What if the French armies in August 1914 actually break through German defences and retake Alsace and Lorraine and push into Germany. Does the Schlieffen plan halt?

Hello all, Iβm excited for my first Eluktronics device. Between Dave2D and BOAT, I canβt think of any reason why I shouldnβt consider the Prometheus as my new laptop.
I just canβt seem to find any benchmarks or reviews for the i7 version of the laptop with the 3070 inside. Most videos are about the Ryzen edition, which isnβt surprising.
That being said, does anyone have any benchmarks or articles they could share?
I guess a second question would be, is it difficult to get the 3070 up to 140w? Iβm not knowledgeable with overclocking.
Thanks for any assistance!
Edit: I was able to find a channel doing benchmark videos using the i7/3070 Max-17. Not the same machine but highly impressed with what I saw there.

This post contains detailed instructions to do exactly what the title says: turn your super money into GME shares and then DRS them. It's easy to do but there are a lot of steps and forms to complete. Disclaimers:
You are going to be establishing something called a Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) and turning as much of your superannuation money as you decide into GME shares that are direct registered (DRS) with Computershare. As the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) says on their web site: "The difference between an SMSF and other types of [super]funds is that the members of an SMSF are usually also the trustees. This means the members of the SMSF run it for their benefit and are responsible for complying with the super and tax laws."
It sounds hard but you are going to pay someone to do it for you.

Domestic Policy:
- After election, the first thing President Daniel Webster had to decide on was his cabinet. Realizing that he needed a stable and experienced cabinet to handle a Civil War, he reached out to members of John Q. Adams' old administration William Wirt and Samuel L. Southard, offering to return them their own positions as Attorney General and Secretary of the Navy, respectively. William Wirt refused, citing his health (and he would die from a bacterial infection in 1834), but Southard accepted.
- Webster also needed politicians from the important states of New York and Pennsylvania in his cabinet. Francis Granger was appointed as Postmaster General and former presidential candidate and financial expert Nicholas Biddle was appointed to the posit

Go here for Civil War, Part I.
Jackson's Final Months And Webster's Inauguration
The election of 1832 was held on November and December of 1832. After Webster's victory became assured, incumbent president Jackson was determined to remain in full control over the war effort during his 'lame duck' period. He largely succeeded, and the war continued without much change.
Andrew Jackson was officially succeeded by Daniel Webster on March 4, 1833. While Webster's cabinet was largely made up of Whigs, he kept on Secretary of War Sam Houston from the Jackson administration in an attempt to appeal to War Democratic-Republicans.

The Siege of Atlanta
Davy Crockett started the siege of Atlanta on October 27th, 1832. He successfully managed to cut off all supply from the city and settled in to wait until the city surrenders. Crockett's second in command, William O. Butler, was sent forward to meet with the navy at the coast of Georgia.
Meanwhile, while Crockett's force had encountered little resistance getting to Georgia, mostly because the Confederacy did not have an organized army there, Colonels Duncan L. Clinch and Richard K. Call had organized one by this time. They soon agreed upon a plan. Call would draw away Butler's troops from south of Atlanta, while Clinch would use that opportunity to get to Atlanta to resupply.
Call did his part successfully, provoking Butler before going east. Butler followed and their forces clashed at the Battle of Lexington. Butler won the battle, forcing Call's troops to retreat. Meanwhile in Atlanta, Clinch managed to sneak a small army through Crockett's encirclement of Atlanta, getting to the city safely, bringing valuable supplies with him. Crockett, realizing Clinch's ploy, called Butler back to Atlanta to contribute to the siege.
Call's men regrouped and now attempted to cut off Crockett's supply lines in northern Georgia. While Crockett considered going after them, he decided that his troops were more important in Atlanta and stayed there. Ultimately, Call would not be very effective in the n

Welcome to the last part of our Curse of the Mistwraith read-along. Today we'll be diving into Chapters 17 and 18 and having an End of Book discussion.
First of all, I would like to thank all of you, who were here for this. It's been a pleasure to read and discuss this book alongside you.
And since we are at the end of this epic first volume and these last two chapters are downright amazing, I'll keep my questions more general this time.
What did you think about that end? And how did these last few chapters affect you?
What do you think of the book as whole?
And would you be interested in continuing with the series, or did you decide this isn't quite your cup of tea?
What were the highlights of the book for you?
And are there any parts that irked you or you didn't find that good?
Any questions? Or perhaps other points you'd like us to discuss?
DETAILED CHAPTER SUMMARIES
Chapter Set 17
XVII. MARCH UPON STRAKEWOOD FOREST
Etarraβs troops march for war with Lysaer in their midst. Ten thousand strong, they head for Strakewood forest to bring an end to the threat of the clans. Note how Lysaer keeps comparing Rathain with Amroth. Why havenβt the forests been cut down to open the obviously productive land for grazing sheep? And note his determination to set those changes in motion.
Approaching the edge of the woods, the Etarran scouts spot six barbarian children no older than 12, practicing javelin casts in a glen just upriver of the ford across the Tal Quorin. Ill-pleased to spend a summer swatting insects and enduring hardship in the wilds while hunting down barbarians, Diegan suggests the troops seize the opportunity and track the children back to the clan encampment, attack at once, and end the battle soonest. The two commanders Pesquil and Gnudsog object to the plan, suspecting a trap, but Lysaer makes a convincing argument that his half-brother would never stoop to using children as bait for an ambush.
A cautious plan sends 40 riders to chase the children, while Etarraβs troops follow, split into 5 divisions, two in front and 3 following. Pesquil remains certain a barbarian surprise lies in wait, and chooses to keep his headhunters in the middle division, well behind the leaders who would spring the trap.
The boys bolt at the Etarrans approach, with the ri

This has been milling around in my head for some time, and I'm finally putting it into words. It's almost fact at this point that groups like BTS, Twice, Blackpink, SNSD, BigBang, SHINee, Seo Taiji & the Boys, H.O.T, and so on are all the pillars of K-Pop (there's surely more, but I can't really name drop that many people). Oftentimes, the most popular are also the ones who shaped/changed K-Pop in some way. I want to highlight Seventeen, because their contribution gets overlooked despite actually being massive. They've popularized and created so many trends in so few years, and are still super relevant in the industry despite nearing the fated "7 years". And just because it may not be obvious (but we all still must know), I will be using this text box here to gush about how insane SVT's legacy in K-Pop is.
What are we waiting for? Let's go!

Everyone knows the term: Freshteen^(TM). Used to describe Seventeen's brighter concept songs, this is what Seventeen started out with. From the funky, vibrant Adore U, past the serotonin-boosting Mansae & very sweet Pretty U, through the very iconic Aju Nice & quirky Boom Boom, leapfrogging to the rock-inspired Clap & bouncy Oh My!, and skipping to the anthemic Left & Right, Seventeen's best & most well-known title tracks have had that "fresh" sound. With an upbeat choreography (often masterminded by performance leader Hoshi) perfected till it's razor-sharp, snappy verses & crystalline vocals, plus visuals fit for peak summertime, "freshteen" songs are more than just your average fun concepts - they're an art form in themselves.
The thing is, Seventeen have mastered the art of creating a fresh song that isn't cute-till-its-cringey, instead filled with that lively energy that makes you wanna get up and dance. Much of bright concepts in K-Pop get ignored, all being thrown into the "cute concept" basket. It makes sense, technically, since these have traditionally been done by girl groups, who often add a heavy dose of aegyo into their bright concepts. It suits them, that's fine. But when
... keep reading on reddit β‘Following the death of his father, King Gustav III was rushed back to Stockholm from his winter residence in Swedish Pomerania. His coronation, unlike his fathers, was a relatively austere affair, something that would symbolise his reign as king.
Gustav IV had grown to greatly dislike his own father and his lavish spending, as well as his love of theatre, art, and music. Gustav IV stopped funding cultural works, greatly reduced the size of the royal court, and sold off several artworks made during Gustav IIIβs rule. This was both to strip away the legacy of his father, as well as to reduce state expenditure, for, unlike his father, Gustav IV was a bureaucrat and not an artist, preferring to spend his evenings going over expenditure records rather than watching theatre.
Internal Politics
The kingβs policy of economic austerity would not remain confined to the court, but would be thrust upon both the aristocracy and the government. He would create The Committee for the Review of Expenditure whose job was to reduce expenditure as well as to streamline the running of the state.
The committee would quickly succeed in its goals by cutting pensions, reducing government staff, and harshly cracking down on corruption.
Gustav IVs insistence on balancing the Swedish budget also led to him implementing several new laws aimed at increasing state revenue. The Monopoly of The Roma Settlement Act and the Jewish Land Ownership and Settlement Act, both ratified in 1820, gave Jews and Romani people the right to settle anywhere in Sweden and lifted the regulations on Jewish land ownership. This would begin a new wave of Jewish migration to Sweden, mainly from former Prussia and made it easier to tax the existing Romani population.
In the end, the austerity combined with tax reform helped Gustav IV pay off a third of the national debt, mostly to German and Dutch banking houses, and made Sweden able to survive without more French subsidy agreements for the time.
The austerity measures forced upon the aristocracy, combined with the kingβs undiplomatic personality would make him even less liked than his father among the aristocrats.
Foreign Politics
Gustav IV had grown to greatly dislike his wife, the Russian princess Alexandra Romanov. This was mostly due to their marriage having been forced upon him by Gustav III, but also because he greatly disagreed with his fatherβs policy of detente with Russia. Gustav IVβs Russophobia was similar to that of most of his
