I love Pink Floyd, and thereβs not a single album I donβt enjoy to its fullest extent, however, what are your guyβs opinions if you had to choose a βworstβ album?
I recently made this cover of Time by Pink Floyd where I play all of the instruments along with David Gilmour's vocals, and I would love to get some feedback from you guys about my guitar playing and overall mixing. Thank you all in advance!
A couple of days ago I was on acid and sitting on a lounge chair with the most beautiful view of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. I had recently got new really nice earphones and I decided to plug them in and listen to some Pink Floyd. The instant I plugged them in, and the first bit of The Final Cut played, I was happy. I realised how much this band actually means to me, not even just thier music, but everything that I have associated with their music. All the places I've been, people I have met, times I laughed with Pink Floyd playing. It holds such a place in my heart and I'm so glad that I get to share this passion and love with 122 000 people on this subreddit, thank you allβ₯οΈ
One of the first Japanese pressings of this album, with pre-emphasis (I've deemphasized the tracks in Foobar, there is both the de-emphasized version and the CDDA in the share).
Very flat transfer, maybe the best release of this album.

My dad introduced me to that as a kid and I never appreciated it until I became a stoner in my early 30s.
I NEED FUTURE GENERATIONS TO KNOW THIS MUSIC IS THE SHIT
I know some of us weren't even born yet in '73 but you can't deny that Pink Floyd and a lot of other 70's bands were still heavy influences on us as a generation during the 70's, 80s, and 90s.

I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd, King Crimson and metal such as Iron Maiden, Metalicca, System of a Down, etc and I have the choice between the HD 600 or the 650.
Which one would you suggest out the two for vocal clarity and electric guitar/instrumentals?
In my opinion, The final cut goes toe to toe with Meddle, Darkside, WYWH, Animals, and the Wall.
Stylistically, this record is everything that made The Wall fantastic, but going darker, and more emotive. Water's poetry is heartbreaking and depressing, verging on tearjerking. The instrumentation is sparse, yet epic. It really feels like you're floating into the deepest parts of your subconscious. Lyrically, this record deals with Roger's frustration with post war Britain, and the direction the 80s was heading towards, you really sympathize with his emotional state.
I know why this isn't a very popular Floyd record, it not being particularly groovy, not being very single heavy; I just don't see why when people bring up underated Pink Floyd records, it's always Atom heart, Piper and Meddle. When this is better imo. Please can we make a change?

Mine was 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' and boy it took me on a journey. I was in the car at the time and decided to give it a listen. I wasn't disappointed! I hadn't really listened to long songs before, so I was unused to listen for such a long duration, but since then 10 mins+ songs are my new normal. What was your first introduction to Pink Floyd?
